Cpl. Bartlett Will Hutton

Bartlett Will HUTTON was born cal 1839, Jackson County, Alabama. He came to Grayson County, TX in 1854 settling in Collinsville. His occupation is listed as a farm laborer in the household of John Timmons along with two of his brothers, Alvey and Alexander,as per the 1860 census. On 1 Mar 1862 Bart enlisted for one year in Capt. James H Tuttle's Company G, 16th Reg.TX Cavalry Dismounted(3rd Brigade,Walker's Texas Division)and was elected Corporal. Bart was on the muster roll for 10 Mar 1862. His pension application states he served for 3 yrs.

Bartlett married Malinda Jane Morris in Cooke County, TX, 2 Jan 1878. They had 5 children together. He died cal 1903 in their home at Collinsville, TX in abt 1903. He is buried 5 miles south of Whitesboro TX. in Ben Dye Cemetery with his second son of 16 yrs old.
