LETTER FROM THE EDITOR
Here we are, starting a new millennium, but, more importantly, a new year. I say the New Year is more important because I don't believe any of us will be around to see another millennium, but the next New Year is a very distinct possibility J. Lithuania is undergoing many changes, difficult changes. After 10 years progress has been made, but fifty years of communism, repression, degradation, exile, etc have taken their toll. Some of the stories here are not very nice, but the fact is, things need to be done. There are many agencies that help Lithuania and they need support. I have a list of some of the agencies and their missions at the end of the newsletter - I hope that you will look at it and consider what you can do to help your brothers and sisters in Lithuania.
Thank you for the emails of encouragement for this endeavor that I have undertaken two years ago. I want to keep it up and your emails have given me the impetus to keep going. It makes me feel good to know that this newsletter has an impact. If you have any stories you would like to share, please, put them in writing and send them on to me and I will get them in for others to read and perhaps to encourage others to volunteer. Again, thank you for your support and encouragement.
