Sports Coupe
The SC 300 and SC 400 are the coupes made by Lexus. This comfortable coupe is made to perform like a sports car with the comfort of a Lexus sedan. It has a sporty look that was updated in 1997 with small modifications.
The SC is fully equipped with Lexus technology. This includes Variable Valve Timing with
intelligence. Two engines are available in the SC. The SC 300 is powered by the Lexus 24-valve
inline-6 that has 225 horsepower. The SC 400 has a 32-valve V8 with 290-horsepower. Both
engines are linked to a standard Lexus electronically controlled 5 speed automatic transmission.
As for technology and ammenities, the coupes have Automatic Sound Leveling which adjusts stereo volume to outside noise, Daytime Running Lights, optional traction control with heated seats, and a power adjustable steerting wheel. The SC has been known to be one of the finest coupes in the world. It combines power with the luxury and quality of a Lexus. In fact, Car and Driver referred to it as "Luxocoupe perfection. Possibly the best car on the planet." It is a stylish, posh car that can turn into a tiger at the push of a pedal.
