Sport Utility
New for the 1999 model year is the RX 300. Sewell Lexus has 2WD and 4WD models available to test drive!
The RX has full-time all-wheel drive, or a 2WD with optional traction control, a 3.0 liter, 24 valve engine
producing 225 horsepower and 220 lb-ft of torque using Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i) and an
Electronically Controlled automatic Transmission, driver & passenger frontal and side impact airbags (SRS), ABS
disc brakes, 7.5 inches of ground clearance, a 4 inch lower step-in height than the Mercedes ML320, and more
cargo space than a Jeep Grand Cherokee.
But do not think for one minute that the RX 300 is not equipped
with the luxury of a Lexus. It has standard a 190-watt Lexus
sound system with an available six-disc CD auto-changer
conveniently mounted in the glovebox, optional heated seats, walnut wood trim and plush leather abundant in the
5 passenger SUV. An entirely new independent center console and distinctive instrument panel have been
designed for convenience and accessibility. The RX offers a high level of sound dampening and ride comfort
when compared to other SUV's, due to its 4-wheel independent suspension inspired and developed using the
Lexus ES300 platform.
