The night sky was pitch black, no moon light pierced clouds that blanketed the sky and the stars were long forgotten, lost in the darkness. Mia looked at it all once more before closing the front door. Kento was heading up the stairs carrying Adrian in his arms, Derrian followed silently, her eyes red from the tears that had been shed before Mia had picked them up.
After placing the boy on his bed, Kento returned alone and indicating to Mia to follow him. They walked into the cool kitchen and Kento opened the door to the refrigerater.
"What do you it is?" Kento asked showing Mia the pot of soup, or at least what may have once been soup. Now it looked more like one of those horror flick monsters, like the 'Blob'. It was a liquidy red colour and it seem to actually be glowing from within. Green foam spilled over the sides, covering most of the contents of the refrigerater in a slimy goo.
"I don't." Mia replied with disgused, "But this has got to be the reason they are so sick."
"Ya but who did it?" Kento closed the door, not caring to look at the stuff any more. "Sai cooked, but there's no way in the world my best bud did any thing that could harm his friends."
"And he's sick too"
Kento knodded, they sat down at the table, confused and tired. The night seemed to be taking it's sweet time, so much had happened and it was only 1:42 am. Could this be some plan of the Dynasty, was Talpa still trying to rule the world, after the Ronin warriors had stop him so many times.
Mia shook her head, and opened her mouth to say something, but before she could a scream pierced the still air in the house. It came from upstairs. Kento and Mia ran out of the kitchen and up the stairs. Their question had been answered.
Mia stopped dead in her tracks, she was in the door way to Kento and Sai's bedroom. Before her Derrian was being held by a tall man in black and gray samurai armor. He held a long staff, but instead of being made of wood the whole shaft was a double bladed with only a small section in the center to grasp on to. And now the gleaming blade was pressed against the younger twin's cheek. A long black cape attached to the stranger's wrist wrapped around both of them.
Mia gasped and Kento protectively stepped in front of her. "Let her go, now!" he shouted.
The stranger laughed mockingly, "Oh, but now I'm afraid I can't do that."
Kento tore off his clothes revealing his orange and white sub-armor, "Well you'd better or I'll have to make you." His voice became serious and the twinkle that was always in his eyes left. "And trust me you don't want that."
The armored-man laughed, but the smile quickly faded, replaced by a scowl. He jerked his arm, tightening his hold aroung Derrian's neck. She whimpered. "Don't toy with me boy! I have no time for these word games. My master is waiting for the delivery of these two." He pointed to Adrian, who was lying on Kento's large bed.
"But why??" Mia cried from behind Kento large form. "They're just normal kids."
"And for what ever reason your master wants them, I'll have to disappoint him, cause their not going anywhere!" Kento stepped forward a step, trying to position himself between the intruder and the bed.
The man glared and Hardrock, his icey blue eyes furious. "Don't try to stop me boy, It'll just end in your down fall. So just step aside and allow me to complete my mission." He moved forward not seeming to care when Kento took a fighting stance.
"Well...y-your not going...going to get anything." a horase voice from behind Mia said.
Everyone in the room turned to see Ryo standing in the door way, leaning against the door frame, breathing heavely. Sweat glisening on his forehead in the light from a small lamp on the bedstand. The Armored man peered at Ryo. He lowered his staff and plunged it into the floor boards, where it stood suspended. Raising his free hand with a jerk to the front of his face, four black feathers appeared in between his fingers. He smiled, flashing straight white teeth. "Wildfire, looking a little under the weather, are we now?" He threw the feathers, they impaled themselves in the door frame, inches away from Ryo's face. "Maybe you should go back to back and rest. While I finish what I came here for." He advanced forward.
Ryo slowly raised his head, flames swirled in his eyes. "I don't think so." A red lighted flared on his forehead. "Virtue"
Yellow on Kento's "Justice"
From down the hall came more blinding lights "Wisdom"
"Life"
Sai's forehead flashed light blue from beneath his mess of red-brown hair "Trust"
Standing up straight Ryo raised his fist above his head, and threw his armor orb into the air. It shattered into a shower of cherry blossoms and blaring white light, pulsing from the spot it had burst made it impossible to see.
The evil man cried out and shielded his face with his cape, "Ahh, what is this!"
Ryo's renewed voice shouted out from somewhere within the light, "Ronin Warriors to arms!!"
Armor of Wildfire...Dao Jin!"
Armor of Hardrock...Dao Gi!"
Armor of Torrent...Dao Shin!"
Armor of Halo...Dao Chi!"
Armor of Strata...Dao Inochi!"
The light slowly faded revealing the five Ronins' standing in the middle of the room, dubbed in their mystical armor. Each had their weapon up and ready for battle if needed.
The Warlord looked at each in turn, a slight confusion registered on his face. "So you have broken the potion. No matter, there is nothing you can do. Attack me and you attack little Star here." he pulled the girl in front of his body.
"Let her go you Dynasty Warlord!" Sage ordered preparing to advance.
A shadow crept over the man's icey eyes, turning them stormy. "For one I am no puny Warlord. My name is Nighthawk of the armor Raven, and I am the ultimate warrior. You Ronin's can't even hope to stand up to me, let alone stop me."
"Let's find out." Rowen challanged removing a golden arrow from his quiver. "This fight is between us, so drop the girl and face us." he notched it.
"Fine."
Ryo looked at him surprised "What?"
A smile crept acrossed Nighthawk's face. "You want me to drop her. Sure I can do that, seeing that we are on the second floor!" He grabbed the back of Derrian long nightgown, lifting her off the ground, and shoved her out the open bedroom window. Screaming, Derrian disappeared from sight. Then all went silent.
"Derrian! No!" Sai cried leaping for the window. Nighthawk lashed out his foot, sweeping Sai's legs out from beneath him. Sai landed on his back and groaned. Rowen jumped up firing arrows at the Warlord, but each were knocked down by a single black feather.
"I really tire of this." Nighthawk wrapped the cape around his body, "But I'll return for what I came for." Shooting his arms straight out, several feathers shot at each person in the room. Ryo pulled Mia to the ground and protected her with his armor. Sage threw himself in front of Adrian's form. And the others dove to the ground, covering their faces.
Nighthawk disappeared laughing at them. "We'll meet again...very soon."
All sounds faded, excepted for the chripping of crickets outside. Sai scrambled to his feet and ran to the window, afraid that he might find Derrian seriously hurt...or worse. Peering out side his heart jumped to his throat. The girl was clutching onto a small ridge of stone incircling the house halfway between the stories. Thinking fast Sai held his Yari out the window and lowered the large end slowly close to the frightened girl "Derrian grab on to the end."
She raised her tear-streeked face from the ground to Sai. "I can't, I'll fall."
"No you won't, I won't let you. Just go slowly." Sai soothed, trembling himself.
Slowly the girl slid her hand acrossed the stone ledge to the weapon and clutched it, not worrying about the sharp edges of the pointed blade. Sai cautionally pulled the Yari back up to him, being careful not to upset the younger Star's hold. When she was closed enough, he lifted her back into the house. Derrian tumbled into his arms and clung to him, almost as if fearing if she let go, she'd be back out outside hanging onto the ledge. "I-I was so..so scared" she sobbed into his chest. Sai vanished his armor and stood there talking softly, and stroking the girl's green hair, trying to calm her.
The others were picking themselves up off the ground, and checking for any injuries. Ryo helped Mia up, "What happened?" she asked confused, "You all were so sick, but now your fine?"
Ryo looked around the room once, making sure all the danger was gone, then look at the girl "I think our armor healed us. I feel fine, except for the fact that I'm really tired." he smiled at her.
"Hey look." Kento said now over by the bed, next to Sage and Rowen. "I think Adrian's fined now too. He does not have a fever anymore."
Mia smiled and went over to the bed "That's great, but I still don't understand what happened"
Over by the window, hearing that her twin was alright, Derrian looked up, red eyed. Her and Sai walked over to the others. Derrian wiped her eyes and left Sai's arms, and knelt next to her brother. "He's going to be okay?" she questioned, looking around. Mia knodded her head in relief.
Derrian took her twin's hand, pressing it to her cheek and closed her eyes. ~Do you feel better?~ she asked mentally.
~Hmmm, yes. I'm so tired though...~ Adrian replied.
~Then sleep, I'll see you tomorrow.~ she opened her eyes and kissed him on the forehead. "Goodnite" she whispered outloud. Standing up she turned to the others, smiling slightly. "He just needs to rest."
"You act as if you just spoke to him, yet no words were spoken." Rowen exclaimed, seeming to notice something the others had not.
Derrian looked down at the bed, crumpling the sheets in her fingers, "Not much gets by you does it Rowen?" She said with a hint of humer in her voice. "Yes, we've been able to communicate mentally as far back as I remember." she look up a faint smile on her rosy lips. "People always wondered how we were able play cherades with each other so well." a single tear slid down her cheek. Brushing it away with her hand she said, "Well, I guess I'll see you all in the morning. Mia could you show me where I can sleep?"
Mia looked at the others, "Sure, there's an extra bed in my room, you can sleep there."
"Thanks" the girls left, heading for Mia's room.
The guys watched them go, Kento crossed his arms acrossed his chest, "Now where am I going to sleep." he knodded towards Adrian, sleeping peacfully in his bed.
Sai rolled his eyes, "You can sleep with me....just...don't kick me or something, while your sleeping okay!"
"Hey I wouldn't ever do that. I'm your friend." Kento ran, smilimg, ot the bed and jumped into it. "Come on honey." he said patting the spot next to him.
"Oh great..." Sai breathed. After a bunch of 'good lucks' from Ryo, Sage, and Rowen, they all retired to their rooms. And it was a good thing they did, cause if they didn't the smile on Adrian's face probably would have been noticed.
Poor Sai, oh well he will survive the night. So what ya mates? It's been taking awhile to complete these stories and I still have two more great ideas for new stories. One I've already started and the other is in the making, but I'll think you'll like them.
