Vicki Lynn Harmes Castro went to be with her Lord on Saturday, Dec. 22, 2007.
She was born June 29, 1950, to Lee and Lura Zell Harmes in San Angelo.
She graduated San Angelo Central High School in 1967.
She leaves behind a legacy of love.
In 1992, she started the Broken Chains Prison Ministry, leading offenders to Christ.
She also started the Angel Tree program here in San Angelo,
a nationwide program that helps children of offenders to receive gifts in the name
of the missing parent and in the name of Jesus.
Vicki was a warm and caring person who touched all she came in contact with.
She is survived by one sister, Carol Nicks of Dallas;
two daughters, Sheila Cole of San Angelo and Holly Cole of of Waco;
one son, Randall Merriman of Grape Creek; a special nephew, Larry Lee Jones;
three grandchildren, Jamar Wheless, Jasmin Cole of Waco and Dante Melendez of San Angelo;
and her special little friend, “Dumplin.”

The memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, at Christian Faith Center in San Angelo.
