Joe,
My husband is having his 30 year reunion from Odessa HS this summer, and his class has a Yahoo group, so as he walked down memory lane with some of his old classmates, I began to get excited about ours! I am ashamed to say that after all the years I lived in San Angelo, I never attended a reunion, and I am sure the loss was mine. As I visited the Web site tonight, I was touched by the page of all our deceased classmates. Having lost my first husband 10 years ago, I know too well that death comes unexpectedly and we have no guarantees of tomorrow!
My husband and I live in the countryside of Scotland---TEXAS , ( about 15 miles from Wichita Falls) in an old three story 90 year old farm house. We drive four miles over dirt roads from the main highway and have no neighbors! For all of the people who live in the big cities, it is a peace you will never know! ( And I lived in the Metroplex for three years!) My three sons are grown and gone at 32, 30, and 25, but I keep close touch, and I am a grandmother of one and one on the way! My husband has three daughters, 19, 15, 12, so on the occasions when we are all together, I guess we could be the "Brady Bunch". My husband, Jerry, is an attorney, and does mostly insurance law, and is able to work here at home via email, fax and FED-EX!!I was surprised that anyone would deliver to people out in the "boonies'! I was a barber for 18 years, but quit when Jerry and I got together, in order to help with his girls and his business. I love being home and love the country, but have only one complaint--the scorpions! They are my nightmare! I have come to love winter when they leave!
As I said earlier, I am looking forward to the reunion, and hope those name tags are big, so that we all can read quickly the names that we may have forgotten! Hope to get reacquainted with a lot of my classmates!
