This is a page with tips for cleaning and maintaining your T-Maxx
Below-Left is a Picture of My T-Maxx after one 22 minute run, I ran it in a local construction site, got some dirt all over my truck, most of it was dusty so it would wipe right off, but look at what lives under the pipe! Look at all the sand and dirt!
Above right is my truck 15 mintues from the "before" picture, I took off the Pipe and receiver, to clean under everything, and to get most of all the nooks and crannies.
Tip: Put a towel or something underneath your truck/car for any of the liquids to leak onto or so when you take the dirt off of the truck/car it will fall onto the towel and its easier for you to clean up!
Also you should get some After Run Oil, Put 2 - 3 drops onto the piston head and inside the carb. after every run to prevent rust, allow easier starts, prevent gumming, and have longer engine life, Each after run bottle, no matter what company mostly has there after run oil inside a 2 Fluid Oz. Bottle. Here's my Bottle from Prather Products:
Here's my engine with my Trinity Punk Head off, just put 2 - 3 drops right on the head and crank over the engine a few times to lubricate it, and take out the airfilter, clean it with warm soap and water and let it dry and put a few after run oil or airfilter oil on the element to lubricate it, so it's not dry all the time, and it would be a good idea to clean the airfilter boot too!
Have you noticed your T-Maxx is going alittle slower at high speeds? here's a tip that I made up when I found the problem. you will need 2 more "linkage stoppers" which means you'll have 4 for the brake linkage, and get some extra fuel tubing and put the 4 linkage stoppers where the arrows are on my truck, the problem was that when the brakes were applied and the accelerator applied the brake stayed on, so this "mod" will make sure the brake arm will go back to letting the truck roll freely. Always use after run oil, it's only roughly $2.19 thats a cheap price for a awsome engine from start to finish! Also remember to make sure that everything is tight on the truck/car and that everything is in working order and top condition, otherwise you'll have a nice big model.Tips:
