In denial about Leo's departure because of a spell Leo put on her, Piper begins having trouble controlling her powers. Paige casts a spell to help Piper cope but instead it gives her total amnesia. Believing the key to normalizing Piper lies with getting her in contact with Leo; Paige discovers that Leo is a prisoner on the Island of the Valkyries, a mythical place ruled by warrior-maidens. Disguising themselves as Valkyries to infiltrate the island, Phoebe and Paige escape with Leo, but Piper decides to remain on the island rather than deal with her resentment towards Leo. Chris, responsible for Leo's imprisonment, becomes a driving force in Leo's rescue in order to cover up his involvement.

• The title of this episode refers to the 1966 novel Valley of the Dolls by Jacqueline Susann.
• How did the sisters manage to summon the Trok demon? Phoebe seemed just to think and the Trok demon appeared.
• The cage in which Leo was "imprisoned" was made of bamboo. Leo was given a broadsword to fight with. A broadsword could have easily cut through bamboo.
• Why was Leo dressed as a gladiator? The warriors in Valhalla were dressed appropriately for the time and place in which they lived and died. Leo only lived during the twentieth century, not Ancient Rome.
• Darryl's unconscious body keeps moving. When he first falls down, one of his knees is up then both of his knees are down. When the sisters return from Valhalla his body his farther away from the wall than when he fell down.

The WB used "Valkyrie Vixens" while advertising for this episode.

After Wyatt inadvertently brings an enormous dragon to life, he is taken away by The Cleaners, a group dedicated to preventing the exposure of magic. The Cleaners also erase all signs of Wyatt's existence. The next day, The Charmed Ones, having no memory of Wyatt, nonetheless feel as if they have forgotten something important in their lives. The sisters cast a spell to repeat the previous day. While reliving it, they come to realize that at some point Wyatt is going to be kidnapped by The Cleaners and they must figure out how to stop them this time.

• The WB used "Dragon's Heat" while advertising for this episode.
• The gray slacks that Piper wears in this episode were worn by Holly Marie Combs in season six promotional pictures.
• If Paige didn't show up to walk into Mr. Stewick's office with Flo, why didn't Flo just walk by Paige's desk to remind her of the meeting?
• Piper telling that father that she always wanted kids and that she babysat a lot when she was young seems a little odd. In "Reckless Abandon", the baby made her very uncomfortable and she only mentioned unpleasant memories of babies.
• Why did the sisters feel it was necessary to leave Wyatt alone with the TV? They could have had their conversation without leaving the room.
• If the Cleaners are responsible for fixing situations in which magic becomes exposed, why did they not intervene when the sisters' magic became exposed in "All Hell Breaks Loose"?
• Phoebe's co-workers must be very angry people to spontaneously burst into a brawl. When Wyatt orbs he and Piper out of the manor, the only thing Piper is holding is the baby. When they orb in by the tunnel, Piper has her cell phone in her hand.

The Power of Three Blondes

Guest Stars

Jenny McCarthy ... Mitzy

Melody Perkins ... Margo
Rebecca Balding ... Elise
Eric Dane ... Jason Dean
Niki Botelho ... Elf Nanny

Three evil sisters, wanting the Power of Three for themselves, magically steal the sister's identities. Using Paige, Phoebe and Piper's identities, the evil sisters lure them from the Manor to gain access to the Book of Shadows, which they subsequently use to steal The Charmed Ones' powers. Stripped of both their powers and identities, the girls must convince Chris that they are the real Halliwell sisters in order to get their lives back. Meanwhile, Piper realizes that Wyatt needs time with Leo; Phoebe and Jason sort out their feelings; Paige learns that magic will always be a part of her life; and Leo continues on his quest to find out who put him on the Island of Valhalla.

• The WB used "Dirty Blondes" while advertising for this episode.
• Todd Tucker also guest starred in "Witches In Tights" and "Necromancing the Stone".
• The necklace that Piper wears for most of the episode was also worn by Holly Marie Combs in "Sam I Am".
• Even if Mabel, Mitzy and Margo had magically assumed Piper, Phoebe and Paige's identities, the Book of Shadows would still recognize them and shy away from the evil witches. The Book recognizes magic, not identities, which is why Leo and other good beings have been able to touch the Book in the past.
• The spell the three blondes use to strip the Charmed Ones of their powers was first used in "How to Make a Quilt Out of Americans" and, in that episode, in order for the spell to work the persons from which the powers are being extracted needed to drink a potion first.
• Since when is an evil doer not worth vanquishing? And even if the Book advised simply binding the Stillman sisters' powers, assuming the Charmed Ones' identities and stealing their powers seems to make them enough of a threat to vanquish.
• After Mabel supposedly freezes Phoebe in the attic, her earring is still swinging.
• When Phoebe is frozen she is facing Paige, but in the second shot of a supposedly frozen Phoebe she is turned about ninety degrees and facing the three blondes.

• The exterior of Anthony's, where Piper and Seth eat dinner, is the same building used for Quake's exterior in season one.
• As the man at the temp agency is reading through jobs, he mentions a pre-school assistant and then asks Paige how she is at diapering. However, pre-schoolers generally no longer wear diapers.
• As Phoebe is meditating she levitates a pillow as well as herself, which she has never done before. But why would she need to levitate a pillow to sit on?
• Phoebe reminds Piper that she dated, "A demon, a warlock and a ghost," but Piper never dated a demon. The only evil being she has ever dated was Jeremy, a warlock, in "Something Wicca This Way Comes".
• Drew Fuller's hair keeps changing throughout the episode. In one scene it is very neatly combed then in the next it is messy and then in the following scene it is neat again.
• Piper recites the "To Call a Lost Witch" spell and says it was not working, but she was not performing the accompanying ritual that the Book says must be done in conjunction with the spell, as shown in "Charmed Again, Part I".

• The WB used the title "Fantasies of the Flesh" when advertising for this episode. The title refers to the 1960s television series "My Three Sons".
• Lynn Tufeld also guest starred in "Sleuthing With the Enemy". The basement in which Paige finds the little girl hiding is the same set used for the sisters' basement in the manor.
• If Piper was concerned about leaving Wyatt in the house with Gith, then why didn't Piper let Chris orb her to Wyatt and then all three of them orb out of the manor?
• Supposedly Phoebe's world was based on Jason's desires because of her empathy power, but since Chris gave Gith a list of the sisters' desires why would it matter that she was feeling Jason's desires at the moment?
• Why did Paige and Phoebe bother hiding in the dumpster? Paige could have orbed to the manor or somewhere safe. Both Piper and Paige drank a potion in "Love's a Witch" to block Phoebe's empathy power, so why did neither Phoebe nor Paige hesitate in thinking that Phoebe could use her empathy power to sense Piper?
• How do both Piper and Wyatt come out of that car wreck unscathed? The truck hits the side of the Jeep on which Wyatt's car seat is located.

• Timothy Leary's "Human Be-In" took place on January 14, 1967.
• Origami is a Japanese art and not a Chinese art.
• If the slime demon feeds on magic, why did it wait to attack Phoebe when she levitated but did not attack Chris when he orbed out of the saw mill to get Phoebe and then when he brought Phoebe back?
• Phoebe and Paige discuss that Paige was born in the year of the ox, but the only year of the ox during the 1970s was 1973, which would make her as old as Piper.
• Since the go-go boots brought Paige to the past wouldn't Penny have had another pair of the same boots, the boots that existed in the '60s? Paige was fortunate that Penny thought her go-go boots were missing and did not open the closet to reveal the same pair of boots.
• When the sisters went back to 1975 in "That 70s Episode", Grams appeared to be in her forties or fifties but in this episode Grams appears to be in her late 20s in 1967. How did she age that much in only 8 years?
• The calendar that Paige notices says that it is January of 1967, but at the hippie gathering Paige attends the weather seems to reflect a spring or summer month.
• Leo says that he and Grams crossed paths when he was a young whitelighter, but in 1967 Leo would have been a whitelighter for over 20 years.
• Why was Piper so disgusted and stunned by the fact that Leo knew Grams when she was younger? She has known for a long time that Leo has been alive since 1924 and has not seemed to mind for quite a while. She was very supportive of him going to the reunion of the soldiers who fought at the Battle of Guadalcanal.
• Obviously the writers have forgotten all about the idea introduced in "Secrets and Guys" that witches are not supposed to know about having whitelighters.
• Why did the guitar player need to levitate a pillow to sit on?
• Allen thinking that Paige was his sister, Janice, might have been an allusion to the concept introduced in"Pardon My Past" that the same souls interact in each of their lifetimes and that souls can recognize each other. However, if Paige was Janice in her past life, then Janice would have had to have died really young since Paige was born in 1977, only ten years after the events in this episode. But Allen's recognition of Paige might have simply been a hint of family resemblance. However, Grams all ready told Paige in "Happily Ever After" that she looked just like Grams' mother.
• When Phoebe recites the spell to summon Grams' spirit, she says "Come to thee, I summon thee" instead of "Come to me, I summon thee" as the sisters have said in the past.
• Chris says that in his future it took the power of three to vanquish the slime demon, but when Chris first appeared in "Oh My Goddess, Part I" he said that Paige had been killed by the Titan so no power of three would have existed in his future. (Either a continuity error, evidence that Chris lied, or an indication that Chris' memories of the future are changing as he alters the present.)
• How coincidental that the go-go boots took Paige back to the same day that her grandfather died.
• On the family tree that appeared in episodes "Pardon My Past" and "Baby's First Demon", Patty's father—the sisters' grandfather—is listed as Jack Halliwell and not Allen. Also, his death date is listed as 1964 and not 1967.
• When Luther Morris says that "a brother could get used" to wearing a police uniform, Piper replies that "So could a brother's son," obviously alluding to Darryl. Luther was not much older than Penny, the sister's grandmother, appeared to be in this episode, so why would Piper assume that Luther was Darryl's father rather than grandfather? Darryl is not much older than the sisters.
• Why did Paige throwing marbles on the floor make Robin fall down when she never takes a step?
• Since the plot hinged upon the fact that Grams' transition from hippie to demon hunter was essential to the sisters being alive, it seems as though more about the present should have changed when Paige prevented Allen from being killed than just Grams' appearance and attitude.
• The potion that Paige throws at the warlock explodes before it hits him.
• Since spellcasting has been demonstrated to be a magical witch ability and the sisters have always lost their powers when they traveled to the past, why would Piper still be able to cast spells, like the one she cast in the jail? And when the sisters lost their powers in "A Witch In Time" they could not throw potions either, but Phoebe and Paige can in this episode.

• The maroon scarf that Piper wears in the opening scene of the episode was also worn by Holly Marie Combs in"Witchstock".
• The picture that Piper looks at of herself, Leo and Wyatt was taken during the filming of "Baby's First Demon".
• Mr. Right suggests that Piper calls him David because she "has always liked that name"—this naming of Mr. Right might be a reference to Holly Marie Combs' real life boyfriend David Donoho.
• Both Rose McGowan and Alyssa Milano sound like they have colds at various points in the episode.
• Even though the episode takes place over two days, Wyatt only wears one outfit.
• During certain points of the food fight, the actresses' stunt doubles were used.
• In "Once Upon a Time" Phoebe says that Piper is a gemini, so Piper would have been born in May or June, not January. And on the family tree that appears in "Pardon My Past" and "Baby's First Demon" Piper's birthdate is listed as August 7.
• Paige tells Darryl that Richard is not coming to Piper's birthday party because "Magic just doesn't like him," but why would a birthday party necessarily entail magic?
• Why did Phoebe and Paige hide all of the party supplies in the manor? Since Piper is the only one living there now, she would very likely find them.
• Why was everyone acting like binding Wyatt's powers would be permanent? They could bind his powers temporarily until he is old enough to control them.
• When the Order was displaying images of possible people that the Acolyte might disguise himself as to enter the manor, the collection of people seemed odd: a mailman, some random young man, a doctor and then Darryl. If they gathered the images of those people through surveillance of the manor, why would a doctor have been at the sisters' house? Not many doctors make house calls these days.
• When David and Piper take Wyatt upstairs to put him to sleep, Paige tells them to turn off the demonic alarm system "in case the baby mistakes him for a demon." But if Wyatt thought that David was a demon wouldn't he have raised his shield against David before then?
• Why doesn't the alarm system go off when the demon disguised as Darryl enters the manor?
• Why doesn't Phoebe receive a premonition off of the present that fake Darryl brought to the manor or sense strange feelings empathically to warn them of his true nature?
• Why did Piper leave "Darryl" alone with Wyatt? She could have just taken the present from him.
• When Leo falls on top of the sisters after Wyatt's shield pushes him away, he lands on top of Piper. But in the next shot, Piper is laying beside him and they are not touching at all.
• The "baby" that the leader of the Order holds when he is performing the ceremony is too short to be Wyatt and too stiff to be an actual child.

Phoebe, Paige and Piper inadvertently expose themselves as witches in front of Jason, causing him to leave Phoebe. Richard casts a spell to free himself of his family's negative karma, but accidentally channels the spirit of Mata Hari, a stripper and double agent during WWI, into Phoebe. • The WB used "Mata Hari" while advertising for this episode.
• In the teaser, Jason says that he and Phoebe are off to Paris in the morning, but he never leaves for Paris. And if, as it appears to be in this episode, his press conference about his merger was in San Francisco why would he be flying to France that morning anyway?
• Why did Phoebe and Paige have their double date at the manor? Neither of them live there anymore and Richard has a very large mansion at which they could have spent the evening.
• Why did Paige have a glass of champagne in front of her? She does not drink.
• Piper receives a cut on her head without hitting the ground in the Swarm demons' catacombs. When she, Paige and Phoebe orb into the kitchen and startle Jason, Piper no longer has a cut on her head. However, in the next scene, Leo is healing Piper's cut on her forehead.
• Phoebe says that she "can't imagine what [Jason] is feeling" after he finds out that she is a witch—but Phoebe is an empath. Shouldn't she know what he was feeling?
• In the scene in which Piper tells Leo to take Wyatt up to Elderland, Piper's hair is very curled, but in the very next scene in the attic her hair had lost almost all of its curl.
• Jason mentions to Phoebe that he never knew that Phoebe was a witch even though they had been dating for fifteen months. However, they did not meet until Wyatt was three weeks old and Wyatt does not celebrate his first birthday until three episodes following this one, "The Courtship of Wyatt's Father".
• When Richard is writing down the karma cleanse spell on a piece of paper, he is writing with his left hand. But in"Soul Survivor" and even later in this episode Richard is shown as writing with his right hand.
• Since Mata Hari spoke French fluently she would not have said "Je ne sais pas pourquoi" as Alyssa Milano does. Instead of saying each word separately, the French combine the first two words of that phrase when they say it or drop the "ne" entirely. When "Mata Hari" tells Piper that she won't tell her whose karma she is infected with, she says "je ne sais fais pas", which translates to "I don't know do" and Ms. Milano misprounces "fais" as "FAH" instead of "FAY." She probably should have said "Je ne le fais pas" ("I won't do it") instead. Also, "Mata Hari" calls Jason "mi amour" in the catacombs, which is a mixture of Spanish, "mi," and French, "amour."
• Why did the ice sculpture of the Eiffel Tower fall over? No one touched it or jostled the table.
• When "Mata Hari" tries to leave the manor, she walks toward the front door, even though she was sitting in front of the set of doors in the sunroom.
• Richard said in "Soul Survivor" that his family had moved back East, but apparently his brother is practicing law in San Francisco. If his brother is still in town then why isn't he living at the family mansion with Richard?
Piper peels the backing off a band-aid to put on Paige's wound, but in the next shot it is a white gauze-like bandage that she slaps on Paige's arm.

• The title of this episode refers to a short story by Washington Irving, "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow," and the episode draws plot elements from that story, namely the Headless Horseman. However, the magical academy shown in this episode very closely resembles Hogwart's Academy from the Harry Potter books by J.K. Rowling.
• The demons that attack Phoebe in her vision quest are Swarm Demons, which first appeared in "Used Karma".
• Paige asks Piper about Ziggy Marley being scheduled to play at the club previously and Piper replies that he had to reschedule. This exchange refers to actual events—Ziggy Marley was originally supposed to appear in "Chris-Crossed". but, obviously, did not.
• Piper mentions that Paige has not been able to reach Richard by telephone for two days. Doesn't she live with him though?Shouldn't she know where he is?
• How did Sigmund know that the girl that the sisters see in the great hall was levitating and, therefore, late for levitation class? His head was in a bag.
• Gideon had the ability to see all of the sisters' problems and worries even though he had just met them. How could he have not sensed that Zachery was responsible for the Headless Horseman when he often had contact with him?
• How did Zachery's telepathic abilities allow him to use other students' and teachers' powers? Telepaths can only read and control people's thoughts, not borrow others' powers. Zachery supposedly uses Piper's power to freeze all of the teenagers, but good witches do not freeze.
• When Paige makes the argument that she does not think Zachery would kill the sisters, Phoebe backs her up by saying that she did not feel any anger coming from Zachery, just sorrow. But in the manor, she comments that he is "telepathing a lot of rage."
• Why did Gideon seem so concerned about the athame at his throat? If he is an Elder, the only thing that should be able to kill him is a darklighter's arrow.

Spoilers

• The title of this episode refers to the 1960s sitcom "I Dream of Jeannie".
• Unlike the genie that appeared in "Be Careful What You Witch For", Jinny was not released from her bottle after she granted three wishes.
• When Leo is supposedly reading the Arabic on Jinny's bottle, he is turning the bottle so that he is reading from left to right, but Arabic is read from right to left.
• When Chris dropped the bottle when the thieves attacked at the manor, why didn't Paige call for the bottle so that Jinny, or Richard, could not steal it?
• How is Leo able to keep Piper from dying by healing her? Jinny wished the Charmed Ones dead, not mortally injured. There was no wound for Leo to heal and since Leo cannot heal the dead, how did he heal her?

Review Spoilers

• The title of this episode refers to the 1970s television series "The Courtship of Eddie's Father".
• The WB used the title "Midnight Rendezvous" when advertising this episode.
• The Angel of Death named Clarence sent to ease Chris' transition was probably a reference to the 1946 film It's a Wonderful Life. Chris' hand becoming invisible closely parallels the 1985 movie Back to the Future.
• In the first tracking shot of the episode, Holly Marie Combs is leaning forward to give an extra a prop and her belly is very apparent. She is holding the bag that was supposed to hide her tummy in front of her rather than to the side.
• Chris says that if he is not conceived then he will not be able to come back in time to warn the sisters about Wyatt. However, why would his disappearing affect what he has all ready done?
• Leo tells Piper that she cannot come "Up There" with him to keep he and Wyatt safe because it is against the rules. However, he took her Up There in "I Dream of Phoebe" to pick Wyatt up.
• Why was Chris fading? If he had until midnight to be conceived then shouldn't he have remained existing until then?
• Gideon tells Leo that his being on earth puts the other Elders at risk, insinuating that if Damien had killed Leo then Damien would gain access to the other Elders. However, a good portion of the Elders were killed in "Oh My Goddess, Part I" even though no Elders were on earth.
• Why did Piper insist on taking Leo to Gideon to be healed? Paige has healed Leo in the past.
• Wyatt still had his own nursery, even though Paige recently broke up with Richard and, presumably, moved back into the manor. So where is Paige sleeping?
