Prologue

WOMEN! SONNY WAS sick of them all. He'd hopped in his car and taken off to get away from two women in particular. His wife, Carly, and his ex-freind, Alexis. He'd finally told both of them exactly what he thought of them.

After putting up with a belly full of Alexis' smug condensation, he told her what a self-righteous hypocrite he thought she was, not to mention a few other truths she hadn't liked or wanted to hear.

If he hadn't been so mad, he probably wouldn't have said anything. He'd just found out she thought she was pregnant and kept it from him. She'd just found out it was an hysterical pregnancy her own neurotic mind had dreamed up, so she thought no harm no foul. But what enflamed his temper to such a degree was she got on his back only a few days before for not telling her all he had done to try and rescue Liz and Zander to protect her position as a lawyer. When all along the self-righteous hypocrite was keeping from him that she thought she was pregnant with his child. So he just let her have it with everything he'd been keeping bottled up inside of him, but he hadn't said to her because he'd respected her too much to say it.

Carly was the next one he told off, before storming out of the penthouse. He'd discovered all her lies. The woman was a pathological liar. She just was incapable of telling him the truth.

When she returned from the dead it had been like a miracle. They had a second chance, and this time he had tried to do everything right he had done wrong before. He decided to let go everything she did before returning from the dead, and that included her staying away and letting him think she was dead to make him suffer for sleeping with Alexis. But a marriage could only work if both people were trying to correct everything they had done wrong before, and Carly was still doing the same thing over and over, again. She was constantly lying to him. So, he'd told her before storming out that he didn't think it was going to work between them. The only way it could work was if she was totally honest with him and that just seemed to be something she was incapable of doing.

Which brought him to why he was speeding down a deserted country highway currently wanting never to go back. Suddenly a dog ran out in the road in front of his car and he swerved to miss him. His car went careening off the road and as it smashed into a tree, his head banged against the dashboard knocking him out cold.

If the woman hadn't come when she had, he would have died. His car suddenly started leaking fuel from the gas tank. She dragged him out of his car with only minutes to spare. They barely made it away from the car before it exploded in flames.
