renda knew that Marco would have kept her talking and arguing with him until it was too late to save Sonny, so she had come to a rash decision. She had wanted to try and put things back the way they were, but Marco was right and it just wasn't possible. She knew he was also right that the mob would come between her and Sonny again in the future like it had in the past. So she was going to let Marco stay in the present, while she went back into the past to be with Sonny. She would have saved herself a lot of trouble if she'd done that in the beginning, but she had wanted to do the right thing. This was what came of trying to do the right thing. So she sat in Magda's shop giving her all the things she would need to send her back into the past.

"Are you sure you want to do this?" Magda asked.

"It's for the best this way." Brenda assured her. "There's no mob in 1792 and Sonny will finally be free of it if we both remain in the past. And without the mob in his life, there won't be anything to keep us apart ever again."

"You forget about Jocelyn Jerrold." Magda reminded her. "In 1792 you're married to him."

Brenda took a gun out of her purse. "That's what this is for."

"You're going to kill him?" Magda was shocked.

"Only if he tries to kill Sonny or me." Brenda replied. "Can we get to this. The paper said the time Jerrold killed Marco and Belinda was nine o'clock on the dot. Time is of the essence."

"It always is." Magda replied, as she began to chant the spell that would send Brenda back to the past and Belinda Jerrold to take her place in the present.

arco was on top of the world. The threat to his life was finally over. Brenda wasn't going to try and send him back. He didn't think this was another trick. He could tell by the way she behaved that she had given up all plans to bring Sonny back to the present. His arguments that the mob would always come between her and Sonny had proven successful. He had no idea where Brenda had taken off to and he didn't care. All that mattered was that he was finally safe. With that threat removed from him, he could finally begin to enjoy the position of power he'd landed himself in.

Unbeknownst to Marco he was living on borrowed time in the present. Both Carly and Jax had deadly intentions towards Marco. Jax had paid off the doorman of Sonny's building to inform him when Sonny had returned to his penthouse and Carly had convinced one of the guards to do likewise with her. They both received phones calls simultaneously informing them Sonny was back.

Carly performed a very black widowish ritual as she prepared to kill her husband. Soft Cell's Tainted Love was playing on her radio as she went through a bunch of pictures of her, Sonny and Michael in happy times. She knew Michael would miss his Uncle Sonny, but she was sure his Uncle Jason would make him quickly forget his stepfather. After all, Jason had been Michael's first father before Sonny came into the picture.

In the time that Sonny was out of town with Brenda, Carly had done a pretty good job of framing Jax if something happened to Sonny. She had told Jason Jax had been ranting and raving about making sure Sonny never had Brenda. She had gone to one of Sonny's people and purchased a gun that would be registered to Jax. She had explained to the man that Sonny wanted to frame Jax for something and he had sent her on this errand to acquire the gun. After the man had given her the gun and filed the fake gun registration papers, Carly had killed him with the gun he had given her. She couldn't leave him around to tell Jason that Jax hadn't purchased the gun, but she had.

As a final touch, Carly put on all the jewelry Sonny had given her. She sprayed herself with the perfume Sonny had bought her for her last birthday and donned a slinky nightgown Sonny had given her when they'd still been in love with each other. She was ready. She grabbed up the gun and walked across the hall from Jason's penthouse and opened the front door.

Since Jax was planning to escape in the past and never return, he saw no reason to be stealthy or sneaky as he entered Sonny's building. He boldly walked on to the private elevator that would take him up to Sonny's floor. Then he made his way around the back entrance and slipped into the penthouse through the kitchen.

Quite coincidentally, Marco had his radio tuned to the same station as Carly had hers, and when he turned it on Tainted Love reverberated throughout the penthouse as both Carly and Jax took aim at Marco from their different vantage points. It was a most appropriate song to be playing, since Jax's love for Brenda and Carly's for Sonny had turned into a tainted love, indeed.

onny and Belinda were making passionate love when Jocelyn entered her bedroom. Belinda had been on the look out for him, even as she reveled in what Sonny was doing to her. She spotted her husband's reflection in the mirror. This time, she didn't want him to mistake whose fault this was. She didn't want him to be able to blame her infidelity on Sonny. She wanted him to know she wanted this and just how much she wanted it. She pushed Sonny on his back and spread his thighs apart.

"I love you, Marco." She told him. Sonny was too beyond himself to wonder why she was suddenly calling him Marco again. She lovingly caressed his cock. "And I especially love this." Then she took it into her mouth.

Jocelyn was sick to his stomach as he watched her working him with the skill of a pro. His stomach lurched as Sonny came and he watched her sigh in pleasure as she swallowed his semen like it was the finest tasting ambrosia she had ever tasted in her life. As Belinda wanted, the blinders were finally ripped off him about her true nature. But she was disappointed that all he did was turn around and leave. Wasn't he going to confront her and toss her out of his life? That's what she'd done this for. So he'd throw her out and Sonny would have no choice but to take her with him when he left.

Sonny pulled her to him. "I don't know if I'm going to have the strength to leave you after this." He told her. "I know it'll only cause us more pain in the future because I'll always want you to be my Brenda and you won't be, but I also don't know if I can let go of the Brenda I have, even if she isn't my Brenda."

Maybe it wasn't too late, after all, Belinda thought hopefully. "Then don't." She replied passionately. "Take me with you and you won't have to."

Before Sonny could reply, they both heard a strange clicking noise in the room. It was the sound of Jocelyn cocking his gun. He had returned to the room without Belinda being aware of it. He had only left to go to his room to get his gun. And now he was pointing the gun straight at Sonny and Belinda.

"Jocelyn!" Belinda gasped in horror.

"This wasn't part of your plan, was it, dear." He spat contemptuously. "But you failed to take into consideration that if I finally faced the truth about you, that there would be consequences for both you and your love to pay."

"Put the gun away, Jerrold." Sonny tried to reason with him. "You know you love Belinda. You don't want to hurt her."

"She's made a fool out of both of us, you know." He told Sonny. "She set this whole thing up."

"What are you talking about?" Sonny asked.

"Are you aware she cleaned out my safe and planted it in your room." He told Sonny. "Then she had a maid come to me to tell me she'd seen you sneaking into my study at the time my safe had been robbed." He gestured to there surroundings. "All to accomplish this. All so I'd catch the two of you in the act. She even went down on you just for my benefit, didn't you, dear."

Sonny turned to Belinda. "Is that true?"

"Yes, it is." She didn't try to deny it. "I knew what that gypsy meant when she said the things she said. Brenda." She practically spat the name. "Was coming to reclaim you, and I couldn't let it happened. When she came here I wanted us both long gone for here. So I figured if Jocelyn found out the truth about us and threw me out you'd have no choice but to runaway with me."

"You just didn't figure on one thing, Belinda." Jocelyn told her. "That I'd want revenge. I'm a laughingstock because I refused to face the truth that I'm married to a cheap slut who'll give it to anyone and everyone at the drop of that hat, even a slave." He suddenly smiled at her. "I'm not going to throw you out, Belinda. I'm going to forgive you. But there will be a price for you to pay." He aimed the gun at Sonny's chest. "You're going to watch me kill your lover."

"No!" Belinda screamed in horror. She flung herself across Sonny's chest as Jocelyn pulled the trigger.

ust as a gunshot was fired in Belinda's bedroom in 1792, in Sonny's penthouse in the present Carly and Jax took aim at Marco and fired their guns simultaneously. Marco never knew what hit him. One minute he was on top of the world and the next he was falling to the floor dead. It was then Carly and Jax finally noticed each other's presence. Neither knew if it was their shot that had killed Sonny but Carly knew she was in deep doo-doo now. All her plans for the future were falling apart before her eyes. Unless she could convince everyone she had accidentally shot Sonny while trying to shoot Jax and stop him for shooting Sonny. She pointed her gun at Jax and fired her gun. He did likewise. Gunfire filled the air until both their guns were empty.

onny cradled Belinda's limp body in his arms, as Jocelyn's screams of agony ripped through the room. Blood was gushing from a wound in her chest. "Why?" Sonny asked, as grief filled his voice.

"I love you." She said it simply, as if that explained it all. "Everything I've done both good and bad is because I love you and I couldn't bear losing you." Then all the life went out of her and she was dead.

"This is all your fault." Jocelyn cried. "And you're going to die for it!" He reloaded his pistol and took aim at Sonny again.

Sonny didn't care, all he could do was stare down at Belinda's lifeless body. Another woman had died in place of him. It was like Lily all over again. No it was worse. This was like his worst nightmare of having Brenda die in his arms come true. Then something strange began to happen. She seemed to be disappearing before his very eyes. She slowly faded away until all Sonny was holding in his arms was air. Was this all a dream? Was this like he'd originally thought and just some bizarre fantasy he believed was real. Had he finally lost him mind?

Just as he was beginning to doubt his sanity, she began to reappear. Only it wasn't Belinda. It was Brenda. He knew it with every fiber of his being.

"Thank god." Brenda reached up and caressed his face. "I made it in time to save you."

"Brenda?" He couldn't believe this was happening. He thought he would never see her again. He reached out and touched her as if he were afraid she'd disappear if he touched her. "Is it really you?"

"It's really me, baby." She smiled a teary-eyed happy smile at him. "It's me."

He pulled her to him and crushed his mouth to hers. "Oh, god!" He sighed in happiness as tears began to fill his eyes, and he held her to him like he would never ever let her go again. "I thought I'd lost you forever. I thought I'd never get to see you, again."

Unfortunately, Sonny and Brenda's long-awaited reunion would have to wait, as the problem of Jocelyn Jerrold still needed to be dealt with. Jocelyn hadn't noticed Belinda vanishing and Brenda reappearing in her place. He didn't notice that Belinda was suddenly alive again. He had been too involved with the reloading of his pistol. Now he aimed the barrel of his gun at Sonny again, determined to finish what he'd started. "Say goodbye, Consuelos. I'm sending you to hell where you belong."

Before Jocelyn could pull the trigger, Brenda pulled away from Sonny just enough to aim the gun she still had gripped in her hand at him and pulled the trigger.
