My name is Robin and I live in Forest Hills, Kloof, South Africa. The suburb is about 30 kilometres inland, northwest of the eastern sea port of Durban in the beautiful province of KwaZulu-Natal.
One of my interests is ultralight flying (or microlight as it's know in our part of the world) and at the end of November 1999 I qualified as a microlight pilot. I co-own a MAC CDL plane with a very special friend Leon and we fly from Cato Ridge airfield whenever we can.

Another interest of mine is television and video production and broadcasting which is what I do for a living. I'm a Video Editor and was Technical Director of a TV news programme broadcast regionally to KwaZulu-Natal from Durban.
In December 2001 I qualified with a diploma as a Therapeutic Aromatherapist and practice on a part time basis from home.
The main purpose of this site is to provide a means to let friends and family (and others) share experiences I had during a holiday to Canada in August and September of 1999.

| This family decided
to emmigrate to Ontario, Canada in March 1999 from their hometown of Scottburgh
on the KwaZulu-Natal south coast, South Africa. They chose Oakville about
30 kilometres southwest of Toronto as the place to start their new life.
The reason for their move was to give their children the opportunity of
a truly first world education and lifestyle. Although they miss their country
of birth considerably, and had to make the tremendous sacrifice of leaving
loving families and friends behind, they have moved on in life and look
forward to becoming Canadians.
During our holiday with them I kept a diary of what we did, where we went and how it all felt to me and now have placed it here for you to read and enjoy. Robin Davis |
