Suns Deal Barbosa


July 23rd -

Less than 24 hours after the Phoenix Suns traded away 2003 draft 17th overall pick Zarko Carbakapa, they delt the other rookie picked up in the 03 draft, Leandro Barbosa. The suns brought in the 11th overall pick in the 2003 draft Mikeal Peitrus. GM Joel Wood was quoted saying "We just brought in a new backup point guard yesterday and delt away our back up shooting guard, so we felt that dealing away a pg to bring in a young sg would be the right move to make if any at the time." Dealings with the warriors lasted mearly minutes, as the deal fit perfectly for both sides.



Starbury Injured


July 23rd -

Stephon Marbury suffered a sprained ankle injury during Sim 3, this will cause the starting suns pg to miss the first 5 days of sim 4, which translates to 4 games, he will make the last 4 games of the sim though. "It sucks that i have to miss some games, im just lucky it wasn't a serious injury. I just want to get back out on the court and win some games." Marbury Said in The Locker room after the game he suffered his injury.



Out with the old, In with the new


July 22nd -

Its official, the suns have cut Dan Langhi and Scott williams to make way for new talent. The suns Traded sophmore Joe Johnson and rookie Zarko Carbakapa, in exchange for more talent. The suns brought in Maciej Lampe, Mehmet Okur, Steve Blake and Lavor Postell. The suns are looking forward to these new young athletic players. " Im glad to be in the land of the Sun" said rookie Maciej Lampe upon arrival in phoenix. "Its sad to leave phoenix, but i will be happy to play in New York" said Joe Johnson. "I didnt expect to be dealt away so quickly, But the franchise found a good opportunity and pounced on it" suns rookie Zarko Carbakapa was quoted saying at america west airport. This trade will be effective after Sim 3.



Suns plummit in Sim 2


July 19th -

After a 7-1 start in Sim 1, the suns went 3-5 in Sim 2, this is probably because of a change in the roster for sim 2, where rookie Zarko Carbakapa took the startin role at C. The suns are goin to go back to the sim 1 roster and see if there are any improvements, if not the suns will seriously think about a trade.








Suns have Fantastic Start


July 14th -

The Suns have one of there best starts to a season ever this year with a 7-1 record and a .875 win %. The suns are tied for 3rd best in the league, and own the 2nd spot in the west. The suns have a very young and athletic team, and are looking forward to posting a great record after every 10 day sim. Look for the suns to be in the playoffs, and possibly make a run at the nba title.




Suns angered that Carbakapa is Listed at SF


July 10th -

It seems that GM: Joel Wood was checking his updates roster today with the rookie included, He found that Leandro Barbosa was in the correct position, but not Zarko Carbakapa who is listed at 6'11, he wasn't listed at C as excpected, nor was he listed as a PF, but a SF, the Suns staff is looking into this and trying to get it changes, this is not the first problem the suns or any other wwbl team has run into with the roster.






Suns Excited About New Season


July 7th -

The Phoenix Suns are looking Forward to the 2003/2004 NBA Season. "We are looking forward to our new talented rookies, Leandrinho Barbosa and Zarko Cabarkapa" Suns GM Joel Wood said July 7th. The suns have a very talented young athletic team. "We believe that this is our year to go deep into the playoffs" said Suns coach Frank Johnson. The suns are also rumored to be planning to trade picks, aswell as veteran 1 time all-star Tom Gugliotta. "We have a great Team This Year Man, Me, Amare and Steph, we are gonna rip the nba up" Said Shawn Marion on July 7th. No doubt the suns have a deep talented athletic team that just may win the championship this year. - Joel Wood



Shawn Marion Visits The Mid East


In celebration of July 4th, Suns.com spoke with Shawn Marion about his recent trip to the Middle East, where he visited with U.S. troops. The All-Star forward was one of several NBA players and Hollywood celebrities to participate in Project Salute 2003.
