Rambling #2 2/18/02
In the recent days,
I've had the urge to go somewhere. Anyway, it wouldn't matter,
but of course there are the restrictions. One the big one, is
that I'm a minor, right there all my ideas go to hell. But what
I do plan is a road trip.
Not inspired by the
Britney Spears movie, I would love to go on a Road Trip. My two
friends, whom one is 22 and has her license, would love to go.
Of course her sister who is a couple months younger than me and
one of my good friends also want to go on a road trip. So I proposed
that we all go in the summer, after our senior year of high school
that being in 2004, yeah that seems really far away, trust in me
school days that seems like decades from now, but I recently noticed
that the days have been going by fast. A little too fast. Which
if you think about it, is completely weird, because no teenager
says school goes by fast.
Anyway so I'm in Brit
Lit, the class where I catch up on sleep, and I'm inspired to
think about where I would like to go. My friend, Lisa, the one
above, sits next to me (thank god, because if I fell alseep, she
would wake me up, or would she??) and she says she would like
to go to Florida. Now see, her parents are very very strict. I
should make those words bold and make them in italics, but you
get my point. I highly doubt they would allow her to go on a road
trip, but then again she would be 17, but still, they probably
would think she's going to jump the border and have wild, hot
monkey sex. (Ok, bad visual, sorry for that). But her sister
would be there and by then she would be 24 or 25, so not bad,
I would totally be gung ho about it.
Now will I actually
go on that fantastic road trip?? Probably not, but one can dream,
right? First off, there are money problems. No one in my family
has a car, ok my uncle does, but "Speed Racer" says
it all. So that leaves no one. By 2004, I should have my license,
thats if all goes well with the classes. Let's hope I'm not jinxing
myself.
But hey, I can't let
these things boggle me down. So let's see I would like to go to
New England, Vermont, most of the North Eastern areas. Then I
would like to hit the South West and go to New Mexico. I bought
a map of NM today and they have some great looking attractions.
Of course I would like to go to Roswell, during their annual UFO
Festival. I would like to go to the Carlsbad Caverns, which I've
heard are beautiful, and Santa Fe, Las Cruces, and Taos. Notice
some are Roswell spots. I have never been out to the SW, so that
would a great adventure. I showed the map to my ever so adventrous
mom and now she's gung ho about it. But, of course there's a but,
she doesn't drive. She has her license, but she doesn't use it.
If you think about it, she doesn't need it living in NYC, its
really not worth driving in the City, b/c with all the traffic,
you could walk to your destination or take the train or bus, which
we do often, quite often. But maybe one day I'll go.
Then I would like to
go to Vazquez rocks, you know the rocks featured in Roswell. ("Departure"
and other eps) Those are about an hour from Los Angeles in Aqua
Dulce. I would love to go there.
Anywhere else would
be an added bonus. I do have a goal, for the future. Will I complete
it? Maybe, maybe not. It's hard to tell now. My goal is in my
lifetime, to go to all of the states in the US. Hit all the major
points in those states and the towns that seem interesting. It
sounds like a lot, which it is, but I would love to do that.
I would also love to
go to Europe. Maybe I'll go this summer with my mom, or maybe
I'll go with my school as a school trip.
I don't know yet, but
if I complete any of these things, you be the first (or maybe
second) to know.
So you ask why have
I written this? My lovely answer, would be I have no idea. Just
bored. At 1:18 am, no less, I'll update the site soon with some
articles I've found.
