My Corner

Hey, yesterday (2/8) I went to the Projekt Revolution show. Which featured Adema, Cypress Hill and the main act, Linkin Park. Let me tell you, that was a kickass show. This concert is my 9th one, in my 15-16 years of existence. (I went to see TLC, Jingle Ball '98 or '99 I don't remember ::its a radio station XMAS concert, NSYNC 3 times, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera ::during my "what was I thinking stage" and No Doubt ::I was in the 9th row and it was awesome::)

Anyway I went to the Uniondale, NY (in Long Island) and it was an adventure to get there. I live in Manhattan and don't drive, so the train was my only option. So the train wouldn't come and I thought I would be late, I catch the train, then transfer to go to Penn Station, there catch another train to then catch the bus. I left my house at 4:30 and got to Nassau Coliseum at around 7 or so. When I was waiting for the bus, everyone whipped out cigarettes. These people are like maybe a year or two older then me and they ALL smoke. I'm not a smoker and clearly despise it. Now you would think that you go to a place that you've never been to before and you would know how to get there, right?? There were groups of people who had no idea what to do. They had no money and had no idea that you need money to get on the bus. That was really amusing.

So I'm there, and Adema is there. They were awesome, but every word out of Mark (the lead singer) was f this and f that. They played about 4 or 5 songs including "Giving In" and "Get Inside You".

I had ok seats considering my mom got then at 2 when they were on sale at 10 in the morning. I wasn't in the pit, but I had a good view of the stage.

Cypress Hill was next. ("Insane in the Membrane", "Rock Superstar"/"Rap Superstar") They are synonymous with weed. Everyone was drinking and smoking weed and cigarettes. So the guy from CH was like take out your weed. Then one of them brought out a bong. That wasn't to fun. I swear I was going to get stoned just by a second hand.

THEN the time had come to see LINKIN PARK:

They opened with "With You" (the rock number in "Meet the Dupes"), that was such as awesome song. They performed most of "Hybrid Theory" and one song from the EP "Step Up". And my fav song ever "My December" was played. Its such a awesome song. If I find the links to the song, I'll post them here. BUT since its not your typical Linkin Park song, the some of the guys in the audience (probably 70%) started to say stuff to them, so that they wouldn't play the song. But I blocked them out and heard Chester (lead vocals) belt out his vocals, and I was so into that song. Then they covered a Deftones song. It was Phoenix's (bass) birthday so we sang him "Happy Birthday". And they closed out with 'One Step Closer'. And for the break in that song they brought out Cypress Hill and I think Adema to help with the "Shut Up when I'm talking to you". And since I was in the back I was able to see the whole crowd, so when "One Step Closer" everyone went crazy and the pit people went crazy. There were about 3 circles just moshing into each other. It was crazy. I'm glad I wasn't there, I would have gotten so beat up. (My friend went to Creed and she got beat up there, so imagine at LP) Oh I almost forgot they performed "It's Going Down", which is the current single of the X-Ecutioners, they said that they only performed it twice, but they could be stretching the truth, so that we could feel special. :) And the funny thing is that Mike and Chester don't curse in the album, but when they were on stage, it was f this f that.

It ended at 10:30 which I thought was to short, and I got home around 1:30, because the stupid bus wouldn't come and I was freezing my ass, but I did see two guys who I thought were really cute. One reminded me of Colin Hanks, but Colin's much cuter :)

And that's my story. Any questions? Ask here
