The Podsters & the
Slayerettes
Season 1
01. Welcome To The Hellmouth 1997-03-10
Buffy Summers (Sarah Michelle Gellar) has just transferred from
Los Angeles to small-town Sunnydale High, where her natural-born
talents as a Slayer (she has the power to fight nonhumans) come
in handy: Sunnydale is built on a Hellmouth, or gateway to the
underworld.
02. The Harvest 1997-03-10
The weakened Master, long trapped in the Hellmouth, can escape
if his vampires suck enough reviving lifeblood from Sunnydale
teens. So it's bye-bye to Buffy's new pal Jesse (Eric Balfour).
03. The Witch 1997-03-17
A contestant at cheerleader tryouts bursts into flames, but vampires
aren't to blame: Seems telekinetic rivals can be so competitive!
04. Teacher's Pet 1997-03-25
Xander is nearly seduced by a voluptuous substitute science teacher
who transforms into a large praying mantis.
05. Never Kill A Boy On The First Date 1997-03-31
Should Buffy go on a date with a studly Emily Dickinson fan? Or
should she do the responsible thing and spend the night slaying?
06. The Pack 1997-04-07
Xander and a bunch of Sunnydale roughnecks get possessed by hyenas
and run amok at school. The now-beastly boy is cruel to Willow
and helps the hyena-possessed pack of kids eat the school's mascot,
Herbert the pig. Buffy locks Xander in the library, saving him
from a trip to the principal's office. No such good fortune for
Principal Flutie (Ken Lerner): He suffers the same fate as the
porcine Herbert.
07. Angel 1997-04-14
After the ever-mysterious but oh-so-sexy Angel kisses Buffy, his
face breaks out - into a vampire's fanged features. Now we know
why he's so well informed about bloodsuckers: He has had more
than two centuries of experience. Still, Angel is appropriately
named, since the gypsies he once ravaged cursed him with a soul.
08. I, Robot - You, Jane 1997-04-28
An ancient, enchanted tome purchased by Giles for the library
gets scanned into the Sunnydale computer system, and an evil spirit
named Moloch is unleashed in cyberspace. The ancient demon (mentioned,
by the way, in Milton's Paradise Lost) eventually inhabits a robot,
but not before attempting to seduce Willow via the Internet. Ultimately,
Buffy short-circuits Moloch and his plans.
09. Puppet Show 1997-05-05
Principal Flutie's menacing replacement, Principal Snyder (Armin
Shimerman), orders Giles, Buffy and friends to stage the high
school's talent show. And at Sunnydale, a contestant's "loss
of heart" isn't a figure of speech. An organ-stealing demon
is responsible, so a ghostbuster trapped in a ventriloquist's
dummy named Sid is recruited to make things right.
10. Nightmares 1997-05-12
This episode shows everyone's worst nightmare: Cordelia is forced
to join the socially maladroit chess team, Xander enters class
clad only in his underpants, Willow is forced to perform onstage,
Buffy gets flung into her grave, and Giles, visiting Buffy's grave,
gets a grab like nothing since Carrie.
11. Out of Mind, Out of Sight 1997-05-19
The snobby Cordelia's friends seem to be jinxed: The equally snooty
Harmony (Mercedes McNab) falls down the stairs; boyfriend Mitch
(Ryan Bittle) gets whomped by a baseball bat. A poltergeist? No,
just a shy, unpopular girl named Marcie (Clea DuVall) who has
been so ignored, she actually turns invisible.
12. Prophecy Girl 1997-06-02
Giles learns from a book of prophecy that Buffy will lose an imminent
life-and-death battle with the Master. Bad news also comes to
Xander: Buffy, in love with Angel slays Xander's heart by declining
his invitation to a dance. The stories merge when a rejected but
loyal Xander revives the drowned Slayer.
