Set-up: "Our story begins here in the Sun Spot lounge where the manager Jeff has called together Monty and Caramel and Brenda. And he's also called together the lounge act, Fifi and The Professor, and they're all here for their weekly staff meeting" Summary: Because business has been poor lately, Jeff convinced Mr. Henderson to let them shoot a commercial for the hotel, and they're all going to be in it. The crew arrives the next day to shoot the commercial. The directors thing that the commercial needs a catchy jingle, as sung by Jeff and Brenda. *New slogan for the hotel: "We've got corduroy." Set-up: "So they finished the big commercial and everybody returned to their normal routine." Summary: After a phone call Jeff tells Brenda that the commercial is a huge hit in Japan. Brenda has to confess a problem though: when she was a teenager, she was the number one pop superstar in Japan. She sold twenty-five million albums under the name "Little Brenda Dynamite." Within minutes the hotel lobby is filled with screaming Japanese fans. ========= Chapter 2 ========= Set-up: "When we last left, a huge group of Japanese fans had just decended upon the hotel wanting to see Little Brenda Dynamite. Fortunately, Fifi and The Professor were there to keep them entertained." Summary: The fans don't like Fifi and The Professor's act at all, and start to get rowdy. Jeff wants Brenda to give the fans what they want and perform for them. However, Brenda promised herself she would never be Little Brenda Dynamite again. She tells that it was the worst time of her life because she "got a swollen head and became a monster." Set-up: "Looks like Jeff is having trouble convincing Brenda to help him. Fortunately, he used to be a travelling preacher. So, maybe a sermon will help out." *Something that is found on God's green Earth: Rubber ducky Set-up: "Jeff, what I need you to do is, using a rubber ducky as a metaphor, I would like you to preach a sermon to Brenda that is going to make her change her mind completely." Summary: After preaching the sermon, Brenda is convinced. She agrees to do one song. She performs in the lounge the song that made her famous. After performing one song, she revisits the excitement of being a superstar and decides to come out of retirement. ========= Chapter 3 ========= Set-up: "Little Brenda Dynamite is back, and she's bigger than ever. Now Jeff is left to deal with a hotel full of her Japanese fans." Summary: Because Jeff is swamped with work, he asks Brenda to work at the desk. Jeff needs Brenda to help him at the desk, but she's "busy being a superstar." Within a short amount of time, Brenda's head becomes over-inflated. She is famous at this point, though, because Tenacious D performs as a tribute band for her. Barry Butters, of (Nakamara?) Records visits the hotel. He explains that Brenda has been under contract since 1985 and that he's coming there to take her back to Japan. She agrees to leave immediately. A week late, Caramel tells the others about a postcard that Brenda had sent. The postcard is an account of the horribly nightmarish experience that Brenda is having in Japan. Set-up: "So you know what they did? Those sweet, big-hearted kids, huh? You know what they did? They pulled their life savings, they bought plane tickets to Japan, and they went out there to save Brenda." Summary: Jeff, followed by the rest of the hotel staff, visit Barry Butters. After a short argument, Barry tells them that there's nothing that can make them change his mind. *Style of movie: Silent film Set-up: "We would like to see this again as a silent film." Summary: Barry reveals that he's a sucker for silent films. Barry compromises and agrees to let Brenda leave in exchange for The Professor's ascot. Set-up: "And I can tell you that everything worked out fine. Brenda was reunited with her friends. Barry Butters tore up that contract. And they all flew on back to Malibu. They even learned a little lesson along the way. *Lesson: "Don't eat sushi on Tuesday." Summary: The staff sings a song about the lesson. ======================================================================= DID YOU NOTICE...? ======================================================================= ...Jeff laughing and jumping up and down after the Japanese tourist changes his lines? ======================================================================= SONG LYRICS ======================================================================= Little Brenda Dynamite's song: ------------------------------ Candy candy yum yum Rainbow smile River made of ice cream Super awesome cowboy Chop chop karate Shiny metal kite Donut eating popcorn Little Brenda Dynamite Little Brenda Dynamite Hey!
