Alison layed her head on his shoulder as he gently stroked her hair savoring the feeling of it's silky tendrils beneath his finger tips. He felt so content with everything as he just held her. They stayed like that for a long moment before she stepped out of his embrace, but grabbed his hand not wanting to lose his touch.
"Hi." She whispered shyly.
"Hi." He said with a nervous chuckle.
"Rafe, I..."
"Shh, you don't have to say anything, you don't have to say a word."
"Shouldn't we talk about it, I mean it was well, wow. Is that what it feels like to kiss an Angel or is there something more?"
"I have no clue, I've never felt like this before."
"Like what?"
"I feel, almost alive."
"I'm glad, so are we ever gonna make it Lucy's are what?"
"We have been stalling haven't we?"
"I just like having you all to myself."
"We'll have more moment's I promise." He lifted her hand and placed a gentle kiss on her knuckles, she tilted her head looking at him with awe. They walked hand and hand to Alison's car. There was a comfortable silence that filled the car as they just drove his hand on top of hers the whole way. He loved the feel of her soft skin in his and the way her hand looked in his it was if it belonged there, it just felt right. Rafe tryed to tell himself that this was happening way too quickly, but there was something else that he couldn't quite explain and he knew it was just...right. When they reached Lucy's they broke contact for a moment as they exited the car only to have their hands back in the spot they longed to be when walking to the door. Alison knocked on the door and a second later Lucy was standing in the doorway ushering the two in. The closeness of the two was not lost on Lucy as she smiled and gave her self a mental pat on the back for spotting this connection instantly.
"So you two kids have fun?"
"Oh yeah." Alison said her eyes never leaving Rafe.
"So cousin you like Port Charles so far?"
"There's no other place I'd rather be." Alison bit her bottom lip and Rafe had the sudden urge to kiss her just then, but held back still a little confused about what had happened in the park.
"Ok, umm, do you guys want anything to eat or drink, anything at all?"
"No, we're fine, Lucy." Alison forced herself to break her gaze on Rafe and look at Lucy. "Hey, um, Lucy, we wanted you're help with something."
"What?"
"Well, cousin, you remember me telling you that I was here for a reason, I just didn't know what."
"Yeah and that somehow I'm supposed to be the one to help you find it."
"Yeah, so Alison and I were hoping you'd do that reading now, I have to know Luce."
"Let me get my cards, you two just make yourselves at home."
"Thanks Lucy." Rafe called as his cousin rushed off to find the cards.
"I really hope that Lucy can help you on your search."
"Even if it means me leaving?"
"I don't want you to go, but I know that this is important to you."
"Yeah, but it doesn't have to be the most important thing." He brushed her hair out of her face and she nuzzled her cheek into his hand his head dipped to capture her lips once again like he had been aching to do since they left the park.
"This is all happening so fast." She said breathless as they broke apart.
"I know, but I can't help myself." He went in for another kiss.
"Neither can I, it feels right, like nothing else in this world ever has." His lips traveled down her face and settled on her neck, she arched her head back and closed her eyes at the feeling. He loved her neck it was so beautiful and sweet just like her, he could kiss it forever and she would be content to let him.
"Ahem" Lucy cleared her throat causing the two on the couch to jump apart.
"Umm, Lucy, uh did you find the cards." Alison said more than a little embarassed, she could feel the heat rising to her face.
"Right here." She waved the cards and sat down on the couch next to Rafe. Alison scooted closer to her side of Rafe and he put his arm around her as Lucy started to lay out the cards. "This is interesting."
"What?" Rafe asked looking at his cousin and then at the cards.
"Very interesting."
"What?" Alison echoed.
"Very interesint in deed."
"What!?" They both exclaimed at the same time.
"According to this, your destiny dear cousin, is right in front of you, closer than you think."
"I don't understand, do they say what it is?"
"Not exactly, you must open your heart and it will lead you to what you are searching for."
"That's it? That's all you can tell me?"
"I'm sorry, that's all I get, I can try again."
"No, that's ok. It's right in front me and I must open my heart of find it, that's a big help." Rafe said sarcastically. Alison put a comforting hand on his shouldar than layed her chin atop of it.
"It's ok, we'll find it, I promise, we'll find it." She whispered. Rafe smiled sadly at Alison.
"Thanks, you know coming from you I actually believe it."
"Well it's getting late. If you want you can stay in the guest bedroom, it's the second door on the right down that hall. See you in the morning. And don't stay up to late. Goodnight you two."
"Goodnight Cuz."
"Goodnight Lucy." As soon as she disappeared from view they turned to look at each other again.
"I had the best day today, thank you Alison."
"No, thank you."
"For what?"
"Saving my life, for one and everything else."
"So we can do this again right? Like tomorrow?"
"Sounds like a plan, so I guess I'll see you tomorrow?"
"Uh huh." He pulled her closer to him and kissed her gently at first and then more heated and passionate until she broke it.
"Umm, first thing tomorrow right?"
"Definatly." He drew her in for another kiss, she placed her hands behind his head to deepen the kiss. She never wanted the kiss to end, because with the end of the kiss meant having to leave Rafe and the magical day they had. The need to breathe eventually overpowered their need for each other. They pulled apart and stood in each other's arms for a long moment before reluctantly letting each other go.
"I um guess um I should um go now..." Alison said still trying to catch her breath.
"Yeah I guess you should, goodnight Alison." He kissed her quickly and watched as she slipped silently into the night. "Sweet dreams." He whispered into the darkness of the night.
Alison fell asleep quickly, she knew the quicker she got to sleep the faster tomorrow would come and she'd see Rafe again. She couldn't explain why everything was happening so fast, and truth be told she didn't even want to explain it. She just knew that when she was wrapped in his arms she didn't feel empty or alone anymore, in fact she felt the opposite. The last thing on her mind before she fell asleep was of the Angel who had saved her life in more ways than one that day. Once again she dreamed of the faceless man that made all her dreams come true, but this time when she looked up at him his face was no longer covered by the shadows. She could see it clear as day and it filled her heart with so much joy, for the man that held her so close and made her feel so safe and loved was her savior, her Angel, her Rafe.
