Justin Berfield was born on February 25, 1986. He celebrated his 14th birthday with Frankie Muniz at his fave hangout, Six Flags Magic Mountain. The two teen actors are very good friends off the set of Malcolm in the Middle. Justin says, "He's so easy to talk to, because we're the same age. We talk about everything - he knows what goin' on!" (Quote taken from Superteen Magazine)

Justin was inspired to become an actor after seeing his friend do an audition. He began acting in a 1991 Folger's Coffee commercial. This was the first of a whole string of commercials that led him to be nicknamed "The Commercial Kid."

In 1998, summer was a really busy time for Justin. This was during the period that followed the last season of Unhappily Ever After, in which Justin played Ross Malloy on the show. Justin starred in movies for cable TV such as The Kid With X-Ray Eyes, Mom Can I Keep Her?, and The Invisible Mom II.

Justin has a great deal of television credits, including the series The Good Life (1/3/94 - 4/12/94), The Mommies (3/19/94), and being a guest appearance on The Boys Are Back (10/19/94). His main acting role prior to Reese in Malcolm in the Middle was as Ross Malloy in Unhappily Ever After (1/11/95 - 5/99). Unhappily Ever After was a big hit on the WB network and displayed some of Justin's finest acting.

Outside the studio cameras, Justin enjoys horseback riding, football, ice hockey, kayaking, sport fishing, snowboarding, camping, and motorcycle riding. His best subject in school is English, and his least favorite classes are math and science. Justin doesn't forget about the rest of the world either. In his spare time, he works with underprivileged and terminally ill kids to try and make their lives better. For instance, Justin attends the "Ronald McDonald Halloween" and "Christmas Carnival" anually, and participates in the Long Beach AIDS run every year as well. Justin's biggest interest is in animals. He trains and cares for all his pets. Over the past few years, his family has had two cats, four dogs, six chickens, goats, a horse, a ferret, a litter of Pug puppies that he delivered himself, fourteen desert tortoises, and a miniature pot-bellied pig named Arnold. Sounds like a pretty wild farm, and the numbers are always subject to change =) Justin's goal for the future is to become a veterinarian and attend UC Davis. He is also interested in getting into behind the camera work, such as producing, writing, or directing. That way, "if I can't act, I'll have something to fall back on." (Superteen Magazine)

When Justin was younger, he was very talented in martial arts. He had a third-degree red belt in Tang-Soo Do, and won various state and national karate tournaments. Justin had also once been rated #1 in California for kata and sparring. However, his active lifestyle of being a television star eventually forced him to end his martial arts training five years ago.

Now with his new and active role as Reese on Malcolm in the Middle, things get a little hectic and time is always on the short end. Through it all, Justin always finds the time to answer back his email and send out those personalized autographs to his fans as best as he can.
