Home of the Brave

NightinGail777: Hi Jamie! You ready to discuss Home of the Brave?

JaMarieHickey: Sure am!!

NightinGail777: You wanna start since I started last time?

JaMarieHickey: Why not! :) I really enjoyed this ep. Even though it's not a Kid ep! hehehe You can really see the struggle Buck has in dealing with his mixed blood.

NightinGail777: Yes. I think it was hard on anyone like Buck who was half white and half indian. I remember the first of the ep when the rider at the station opened the door and there was all those indians.

JaMarieHickey: I know! He knew he was in big trouble. I thought it was great the way Jimmy, Cody and Lou stood up for Buck. Seeing Tompkins get hit with the frying pan was pretty funny! :)

NightinGail777: I know-Lou really knocked him down. Cody and Jimmy didn't do to bad either although Cody was covered in flour:-)

JaMarieHickey: True. You can tell that the group is already starting to bond as a family.

NightinGail777: They sure are. Emma knew that they had gotten in trouble when they come up.

JaMarieHickey: I know. Poor Sam, he know he has to punish them, but he thinks it's so funny. It just cracks me up when he tells Teaspoon that he wished he could've seen them.

NightinGail777: Oh I know-I ecspecially liked the part where Ike scares Tompkins horse and he rares up.

JaMarieHickey: Oh yeah! You have to admit, Jimmy is kind of a jerk to Buck in this one though. After he finds out about Buck meeting with Red Bear, he's very mean.

NightinGail777: Yes he is-he should have listened to Buck and known that Buck wouldn't betray them. I think he learned his lesson though.

JaMarieHickey: I hope so!! Did you notice how Lou started cleaning up after Teaspoon walked in when they were fighting? Such a girl thing to do!

NightinGail777: Yep. Teaspoon is so wise-he makes them realize that Buck wouldn't betray them then he goes and talks to Buck.

NightinGail777: He makes them see how hard it is for Buck being a half-breed.

JaMarieHickey: True. I think the talk he gives the boys before he goes to talk to Buck is very good. Something they needed to hear.

NightinGail777: This is true. I think it is sad when Buck tells him he is quitting the express and gives Teaspoon a bracelet to give Ike.

JaMarieHickey: I know! At least Kid was able to catch him before he left so Buck could save Ike.

NightinGail777: Yes-Kid did good this time-I will admit.

JaMarieHickey: He always does good!!

NightinGail777: Not always..sometimes maybe. Remeber he is the one that wanted to shoot Buck before he knew exactly what was going on.

JaMarieHickey: I know, but he wanted to so Buck wouldn't suffer. If it would've been bad, it was a great idea! I'd like to think someone would do that for me. :)

NightinGail777: Oh-typical Kidette. He should have known that Buck knew what he was getting into. Indians do have ceremonies that they make their braves go through to prove they are worthy.

JaMarieHickey: Sure he should've, but he's a Southern boy....how much could he have known about indians and their ceremonies??

JaMarieHickey: hehehehe :) I'll stick up for him till the end!

NightinGail777: I know, I know. I would think he would have known by now being that they all had been living together and were like family.

JaMarieHickey: Maybe Buck didn't talk about it that much?

NightinGail777: OK,OK. Let's get to the part where the indians are inside and they give Buck something to drink....then he has his vision. I think it is cool the way all the others could see his vision also.

JaMarieHickey: Oh yeah, that was awesome. The snake part was a little scary though, but I'm afraid of snakes so that could be why.

NightinGail777: I am too. I thought for sure a snake would bite him the first time he put his foot in that pit.

JaMarieHickey: I know! It gives me the hebee jebees just thinking about it.

NightinGail777: I was wondering how he was gonna get across those snakes.....then the eagle spoke and Buck knew exactly what to do.

JaMarieHickey: I like how he wasn't surprised to see Ike and Kid waiting on him when he was leaving. He knew Kid wouldn't go anywhere without him.

NightinGail777: I love how his brother gives him a helping hand. I knew he loved Buck. But he is an Indian war chief-he was wise in telling Buck to go back to the whites. I was sad to hear him tell Buck that if they ever met in battle-he would have to kill him.

JaMarieHickey: That was sad. Almost like their own Civil War with brother against brother.

NightinGail777: I was surprised that they never showed Red Bear again though-I was hoping he would become semi-regular.

JaMarieHickey: I was too. I would've thought that he would show up in some of the shows when there were indian troubles to give advice.

NightinGail777: Oh well-at least we got to see him once. I knew that everything would be allright and Buck would go back to the express.

NightinGail777: I'm glad he did-you know Buck is my second fave!!!

JaMarieHickey: Me too. I'm glad he got to come back. I know that.

NightinGail777: Let's see.....what ep is next?

NightinGail777: I think Speak No Evil.....a Ike ep finally!

JaMarieHickey: Ummm.....You're correct.

NightinGail777: I hope everyone will join us again when we discuss it.

JaMarieHickey: Me too! Until then, ride safe!

NightinGail777: You too, Jamie. Like the song says-Happy Trails to you!!!

Here are some extra screen caps that I had made. Just thought you might enjoy them!
