Ancient Ruins

"Ancient Ruins is perhaps the most underrated, map in Thievery."

Ruins delivers fair gameplay while bringing originality to the table. Ed Duke-Cox should be commended for his modest, near epic work. The architecture in this map is nothing short of incredible. Lets not forget this was one of the first few maps to be released after several patches. The size of this map allows a server of ten players to enjoy the game to it's fullest.

Well placed shadows, exits, vents, and torches is what you can expect from Ed Duke-Cox. Sound is perhaps the first worry you'll encounter as you enter the metal areas. Fear not, there are some areas that look metal but don't sound like it.

A.I. pathnoding and patrol routes are also note worthy. Some vent access provides quick entry and spying opportunities. With carefully placed shadows and timed movements, you can avoid the watchers.

The doorways provide the entrance/exit. Sometimes there will be vents available for entrance only. Above are some locations where you can find the schematics for one of your objectives. If you're desperate for cover, the lockers could work.

(Left)Red jewel stones may give you away. (Right)Two entrances to the Aquaplex Facility. The in game map is a useful goodie. The ambience and atmosphere are also top notch. With all said and done, Ancient Ruins delivers a satisfying yet challenging Thievery Experience.
