Hey that first year can't have been so bad, they did another series, didn't they? And it was one of the better years too! A few performers started to appear regularly, and the long-time Whose Line fans see Ryan Stiles and Greg Proops both looking very young and a little like guys at the high school dance. John Sessions remains as a regular appearing in about half the programmes. The credits switch to a cartoon of theatrical scenes.

Best Game: The cooking Rap was the highlight for me.
Worst Game: Fast forward through the Authors, it's a big disappointment.

Tony's Best Bit: Explaining God in a typical Tony style.
Mike's Best Bit: So talented with his hosepipe song.

Game should have been won by: Greg, a great debut for everyone's favourite Speccy Spice.
Should have stayed home and finished the ironing: Tony is a tad upstaged by an even smuttier Greg.
Trivial Observation: Greg looks so young and cute here, and Clive gets in early with the Greg jokes. The first show in which John Sessions does not appear.
Overall: A very strong cast to kick off the new series, all were still to be involved with the show six years later, and three were still involved eight years later. So it's all very professional and funny without hitting comic heights.

Trivial Observation: Tony and Josie work well together here, perhaps they should have been teamed up more often.
Overall: A smashing show with three talented people in top form. Oh yeah and Archie Hahn is there too.

Greg's Best Bit: Works well with Mike as surgeons.
Paul's Best Bit: A really great contribution in the Musical.

Game should have been won by: Paul, I think he deserves a special mention because he is really funny in this but never gets another run.
Should have stayed home and changed a lightbulb: Perhaps Greg was a trifle underdone, but he was far from a failure.
Trivial Observation: Mike looks so jolly here, far from the grim menacing look of 1997. And Paul Rider is surely the shortest man to appear on WLIIA.
Overall: One of the better eps of this series, very very clever.

Should have stayed home and checked the weather forecast: Sandi is unusually quiet here.
Trivial Observation: Debut performances for Ryan and Sandi, two of the best in the show's history. Ryan looks young and geekish. And Sandi's blue cardy was a finalist in the WLIIA Fashion Victim Awards.
Overall: Very funny show with Ryan paired with the unique John Sessions.

Trivial Observation: Paul just manages to get a Twiglets mention in while hosting Party Quirks.
Overall: This show has its moments, most while the opening cartoon is playing.

Worst Game: For me, Authors failed to hit the spot again.

Josie's Best Bit: Paired with Mike, singing her cute little heart out.
Tony's Best Bit: A very funny smutty Rap.
Paul's Best Bit: Getting angry with the audience in Film and Theatre Styles.
Mike's Best Bit: In great singing voice as usual.
Greg's Best Bit: His Rap is the best.

Should have stayed home and had an enema: Sandi but in truth all six were good.
Trivial Observation: The only time six performers were tried and although it is of course great to see so many very good comedians together, it does seem a little crowded at times. The Party Quirks round for example seems to go on forever. Paul had a minor breakdown during the filming of this show and looks uncomfortable throughout it.
Overall: Six very funny comics and extra time makes for the best Christmas present anyone could ask for.

Trivial Observation: Mike is damn sweaty here, his shirt and jacket is soaking, poor bloke.
Overall: Very good show with young Ryan keeping up with Josie and Mike.

Archie's Best Bit: His jealous lover impression is damn funny, the funniest thing he does in the series.

Quote of the Day: Paul as Archie does his Joker impression: "I know that face with that weird sort of lopsided grin and that white makeup, it's Barbara Cartland."
Game should have been won by: John, I reckon.
Should have stayed home and twiddled his thumbs: Jonathan doesn't have much to contribute.
Trivial Observation: Paul seems more miserable than usual here, he doesn't crack even half a smile once. Mind you, who can blame him with the standard of comedy here.
Overall: Keep your finger on the fast forward button.

That Will Be Charlie Now: Mike is Charlie, who works in a hotel picking up the keys, with Lee, Jan and Tony describing his quirks: he smokes 147 cigarettes a day, he has a postulating sore on his nose, he exposes himself to men and women, he spits in peoples ears and then sucks it out, and he grabs hold of mens and womens nipples and twists them.
Film Dub: Jan and Tony are on their honeymoon.

Trivial observation: Clive again mentions his wish to get on Dersert Island Discs... wonder if he ever got on?
Overall: Some good set pieces here but there's a difference in class between Tony and Mike and the lesser Lee and Jan.

Sandi's Best Bit: Snow White she may well be, she certainly keeps up with our Tony.
Ron's Best Bit: Loved a couple of his Worlds Worst ideas.
Rory's Best Bit: Okay being accident prone.
Quote of the Day: Tony: "Is it true you went to bed with each dwarf in turn?"
Game should have been won by: Sandi is clearly the star in a lacklustre show.
Should have stayed home and fluffed his cushions: Rory barely registered on my radar.
Trivial Observation: Sandi has her only game as a party guest and lifts a rather dull game nicely, while guessing one of the other guests quirks.
Overall: A drab show which without Sandi and Tony might have died during the opening credits.

Song Styles: The subject is toasters for Mike doing gospel and Josie doing Motown.
Worlds Worst: Josie, Paul, Tony and Mike perform the worst person to be stuck in a lift with.

John's Best Bit: Typically energetic if not especially funny in Party Quirks.
Josie's Best Bit: Her duets with Mike are just wonderful.
