However, do check out my review of the game when I have concluded it as you may find your name and score in the top few! Someone said to me that the letters games were mean and the numbers and conundrum were generous. I think I'd agree with this on this game, but everyone got very respectable scores on a difficult game.

Round 1: The best most people managed to get here was EJECT for five, but there was a six in EJECTA. I was doubtful that EJECTA existed, but having looked it up it is defined as being something that is ejected, such as lava from a volcano. I couldn't find anything better than this six.

Round 2: FRUITS and INSULAR are there for six and seven respectively, but I did manage to find an eight along with a couple of other people in the form of FISTULAR. Much hilarity ensued at my household with various people offering very different definitions, mine perhaps being the rudest (and campest). However, after looking it up I found out that it was none of our definitions but a FISTULA is a pipe like organ in insects or an opening or channel the result of disease and fistular refers to this. Still, we had fun guessing.

Round 3: Everybody got a six in this round except for myself, having only got a five with MAYOR. BARIUM and EMBRYO were the most common sixes in this round.

Round 4: Again, six was the best anyone could do in this round. HOOPLA was the most common suggestion here.

Round 5: All numbers rounds were fairly straightforward in this game, so I believe that everyone managed to get ten here. The easiest way of doing this was (50 x 10) - (8 x 2) to get you to the target of 484.

Round 6: Sevens all round with DEADENS being the most popular. I did get a six to start with in VENTED, but I then spotted this seven.

Round 7: Again, seven was the best anyone could do here and declared COLOURS. As a Latin student, I thought I had a nine in ORACULOUS which I believed was something to do with eyes. I looked it up using an online dictionary and found a mention of it as "decorated with eyes", but I'd be grateful if someone could check whether this is in ODE.

Round 8: A couple of disallowed words in this game, such as TAPELIKE which I couldn't find a mention of anywhere without having a copy of ODE to play Countdown in its true sense. I managed a five in this round with PETAL, but there was a seven in EXPIATE

Round 9: No mention of DILUTEE anywhere any of the online dictionaries, so it was disallowed. Don't think it does exist in the ODE as it sounds very dubious but I'd be interested if anyone could prove me wrong. Sixes again was the order of the day, with a much safer DILUTE and JILTED also there for six.

Round 10: Numbers round again. Fairly easy although slightly longer than the round 5 selection. The target is in reach and can be obtained by
((25 x (2 + 1)) + 7) x (9 + 1) = 820. Everyone got the full ten points here.

Round 11: Sevens again with REFLATE and ETERNAL. I didn't get anything better in this round than these.

Round 12: Everyone saw through the DISGUISE of round 12 and got 8 points. Nothing better here.

Round 13: After an eight letter word in the previous round, we move to a more pathetic five given the difficult letter selection. The best five here was BUMPY although there were others.

Round 14: Last numbers round of the game and while still being fairly easy it was still a long method to get to the target. The solution is (((100 x 7) + 50) + 8) + 75 = 833

Round 15: Easy conundrum here which everyone correctly spotted was REMAINING. Note to self: must make conundrums more difficult to spot! lol

The new game will be here either later today or within the next few days.
