THE DREAM CURSE

(461) Since Barnabas doesn’t recall Victoria being in 1795, Victoria must not have traveled to the true 1795, but since Peter joins her in 1968, this must not be the case. Barnabas’s memory must be spotty from sharing his body with his time-hopping spirit.

(466) Dr. Lang gets confused and calls Victoria “Mrs. Collins” and the corrects himself and calls her, “Mrs. Winters.” (If only they knew how right he really was.)

(473) Having not met Angelique before now and not knowing about her, Julia has a moment with Cassandra and calls the Collins a very “in bred” family.

(478-535) In the beginning of the Dream Curse, Maggie, Jeff, Dr. Lang and Julia see the past terrors of the previous people to have the Dream Curse, but starting with Mrs. Johnson (through David, Willie, Carolyn, Sam, Vicki and Barnabas) everyone else misses doors or gets the imagery out of order while completely missing others. (Maybe the spell loses power in the middle in order to really “zing” Barnabas at the end.)

(486) While Lang fights with that really old model tape recorder, the music from it and the turning reels aren’t in sync. It stops completely and he still manages to tape his voice!

(489) Concerned with David’s health, Cassandra/Angelique steps out of camera range.

(490? – 495?) When Angelique (disguised as Cassandra) comes down to the Old House searching for her missing portrait, Barnabas reacts a bit sarcastic and says, “How fortunate.” (It really is a blooper; Johnathan Frid corrects himself saying “How unfortunate,” but it is so within character!)

(507) When Carolyn has the dream, she sees her tombstone with her day of death on it. Her birth date on it (December 8, 1948) doesn’t match her more likely and accurate birthday in the Collins Family Bible (July 16, 1946). (Either Angelique’s spell got it wrong or the spell itself is just trying to scare her. Technically, the ability to read is a right brain function while the dreaming aspect is from the left brain; if it had been correct, it would be an even BIGGER contradiction.)

(515) While Willie reseals the wall up over Trask’s remains, a crewman on the set steps into the shot. (‘Got the Willies.” Nice pun, Karlen.)

(519) When the ghost of Reverend Trask appears behind Cassandra/Angelique, the graphic enabling Jerry Lacy to appear as Trask slips and slides on the scene.

(519) Flies must love ghosts because one really annoys the ghost of Reverend Trask as he tries to exorcise Cassandra/Angelique tied to the tree.

(536) Julia seems to be a very good doctor when she wants to be, and this is not one of them. They find Barnabas at the end of the Dream Curse on the front veranda of the Old House and Julia pronounces him dead, but he is very clearly breathing. (Atta-boy Frid!)

(536) Barnabas’s death has really confused Willie; he wonders what he and Julia are going to tell everyone up at the Old House (he means the big house – the main house on the estate of Collinwood).

(556 – 582) When Angelique is brought back as a vampire, her reflection shows up several times in mirrors. (Perhaps, it’s not on her as strong as it was on Barnabas?)
