Lucy was in the back of the church getting ready for her wedding with her mother. Her mother couldn't help but smile. Lucy was wearing a simple white silk gown that hugged her curves.

"You look pretty, Lucy."

"Thank you, mom."

A man walked into the room.

'We ready in here?"

Lucy smiled at the sight of her father who had not really been part of her life. But was happy he was going to give her away.

"I'm ready"

Elizabeath Corday and Carol Hathaway were Lucy's bridesmaids. Peter Benton was John's best man.

"Here Comes The Bride" plays as Lucy walks up the isle. Carter can't help but smile. Lucy finally reaches the alter and the minister begins to speak.

"Who gives this woman to be married to this man?"

"Her mother and I do" Lucy's father answers and he kisses her on the cheek and sits down. The minister begins to speak again.

"Friends and family, we are gathered here today to join John Carter and Lucy Knight in a bond of true love"

The minister says a prayer, and begins the ceremony.

"Be there any person that can show good cause as to why these two should not wed. Speak now, or forever hold your peace."

No one says a word.

"Lucy Knight, please take your ring and place it on the ring finger of your beloved and repeat after me"

Lucy takes her wedding band and slips it on John's ring finger.

"With this ring. I take you John Carter. To be my husband. To have and to hold. From this day forward. In sickness and in health. Till death do us part."

Lucy recites every word back with a smile on her lips.

"John Carter, please take your ring and place it on the ring finger of your beloved and repeat after me"

Carter takes his ring from Dr. Benton and slips on on Lucy's ring finger, his eyes never leaving hers.

"With this ring. I take you Lucy Knight. To be my wife. To have and to hold. From this day forward. In sickness and in health. Till death do us part."

Carter recites the entire vow without taking his eyes away from Lucy's. Carter whispers "I love you" to Lucy after he finishes. Lucy smiles.

"By the authority vested in me, I pronounce you are husband and wife. In the name of the father, the son, and the holy spirit. Mr. Carter, you may kiss the bride."

Carter pulled Lucy to him and both of them kissed like no one else was there, no one else mattered. Everyone in the church applauded.

"Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Mr. and Mrs. John Carter!"

Carter and Lucy walk out of the church, hand in hand, this time as husband and wife.

The club where they had went that night they shared that dance, was the site of the wedding reception. Everyone seemed to be getting along. Even Lucy's parents.

Most of the music up till now was done by a sound system. A person steped up to the mic on the stage.

"Ladies and gentlemen, a request from the bride and groom. One of Chicago's best club singers, Mr. David Hammond.

Everyone appauded slightly.

"Tough crowd. Forgive me, I have never played a wedding before."

Everyone giggled. David broke into a few tunes, and could tell this was going to be fun after the first tune.

"Folks, it's time for the first dance by the bride and groom. To a song they requested. It's one of my favorites from 1987."

Carter and Lucy walked out onto the dance floor and David's band broke into the opening cords to Chris De Burgh's "The Lady In Red" It didn't take long before Carter and Lucy was swaying in time to the ballad where they had revaled their feelings for each other.

Lucy looked up into Carter's eyes.

"I love you, John Carter"

"I love you too, Lucy Knight Carter"

The song ends and Lucy and Carter kiss.
