How to use the storyboards

I recommend you first write your story on a simple word processor, like "Word" (it makes it easier for me to paste your completed work into the library).

Avoid typing directly onto the storyboards comment boxes. Many writers have discovered, much to their dismay and frustration, that their work hadn't been saved and it disappeared completely of the screen when they clicked on "Add Topic".

If you choose to write your story directly on the storyboards, as opposed to sending the finished work directly to the library, it's better to post it in several installments to allow readers to comment or offer friendly criticism (though, don't let that stop you from writing!) Also, it's faster to download.

Choose your segments carefully. End each installment with a suspense to keep the readers on the edge of their seats. Compare this to television: you don't want the audience changing the channel at the first commercial break.

You can post once or twice a day or more depending on your fancy or at days' intervals (though some readers may get restless as to what happens next, I know I do).

Don't use tabs, write from left to right.

Never underline words you wish to emphasize. Use Bold or Italics. For "bold font", type word and for "Italics", type word.

If you wish to use EZcodes (converted HTML)or Emoticons, follow the steps by clicking on "Use Ezcodes" or "Use Emoticons" at the left on the storyboards comment boxes.

Proofread your segments before posting

If you are posting the very first installment of your story, provide a set-up and a logline (short synopsis).

    Examples:

Set-Up: Everyting is concurrent with the show except that Heath has been living with the Barkleys since he was 10 and Eugene doesn't exist.

Set-up: Steve is 24 and has a brother. Jaime never existed.

Logline: A trip to Stockton has dire consequences for the Barkleys.

Logline: Steve is sent to Monaco on a mission where he meets with an old foe.

If you choose to write an alternate version of a particular episode, omit the set-up and just specify the nature.

    Examples:

A missing scene from "The Iron Box".

An alternate ending to "Dead Ringer".

A revamp of the pilot "Cyborg".

A continuation to "By Force and Violence".

Once pasted into the storyboard comment box, do another proofread. You can edit if you catch grammatical or typo errors, or if you simply want to change or delete a word or a sentence. Once you click on "Add Post" your story will appear on the board and you WON'T BE ABLE TO EDIT IT anymore, unless you are a Ezboard registered user. Click on "Register your free account" at the top of the storyboards to get more information.

Please folks! Let's keep the boards clean. No graphic pornography nor coarse language unless I approve it beforehand. If you so wish to give helpful writing tips or offer friendly criticisms, go ahead. However, I WILL NOT allow spiteful remarks directed towards ANY of the board writers. Such replies will be DELETED AT ONCE!

Happy Writing!
