Show Summaries
Another challenge presented itself to the HG'S this week as they prepared for a wonderful meal. Mike read the directions to the challenge which informed everyone that they must spell out the name of an entree using their bodies and Mike must be able to guess what food they have in mind. If successful, they will be treated to the entree they spelled out and all its trimmings, if not it looks liek peanut butter! The HG's were successful and had a delicious meal of filet mignon and all the fixings! Anger rises between Kent and Justin as accusations fly around special items from home (a pillow). Kent is the center of another controversey with Bunky as Bunky attempts to "come out" to Kent. Kent is accepting of him, tells him he admires his courage to be gay in a straight counry and even offers a friendly hug! Will is ever the mastermind as he attempts to be the puppeteer and pull the strings of the HG's. He admits in the Diary Room to being a master of destruction. He tests his control with a fast and is secretly excited with the fact that he controlled so many of the HG'S as they follow his suggestions. However, several HG's are beginning to figure him out and Nicole makes it her last wish that if she should remain in the house, her intention would ONLY be to see that Will is gone! Stay tuned for Big Brother
on Thursday and see Recaps of the eviction
from last Thursdays show, depicted Mike as being VERY upset about Sheryl
being voted out. Shannon, Will and Mike (the self proclaimed Brat Pack
from C-Town) are worried about their respective positions in the Big
Brother house. They try to make amends with the 'REAL PEOPLE" clique,
who are not really buying into thier somewhat staged apologies.
Big Brother posed the first AMERICA'S CHOICE question and the result was played out on tonight's show. The question was of the two hg's in the house who have birthdays this week, which one would you like to see receive a special birthday greeting from home and a celebration dinner? Krista and Mike both had birthdays this week, and Krista won the America's Choice! Krista opted to invited Mike to celebrate Dinner with her because she felt that it was his birthday as well. They had crawfish and sushi in the blue room, toasted each other and basically put their strategies behind them for just awhile as they enjoyed their birthdays. But the plotting continued amongst the others. Nicole is 'infiltrating' the 'enemy' (C-Town) camp and getting as much information as she can. Autumn says she has her game face on. Will, Shannon and Mike are determined to win HOH this week and Kent says he will NOT concede. Going to make for an interesting week! The HG's had an opportunity to get to know Monica a little better and it seems that she is very honest, respectful, smart and kind. Bunky calls her a motivational speaker as she tries to help him overcome a self-esteem problem. The general concensus is that she could go far in this game. Tune in on Thursday for the Live Show and see who is the next one evicted from the Big Brother House! AUTUMN EVICTEE NO.2
- Shannon has had an interesting 3 weeks in the house. She has become an integral part of CHILL TOWN, made many enemies, some friends, and even has a romance brewing. Her boyfriend, Jim, was interviewed by Julie Chen for the show tonite. He is either incredibly trusting or incredibly naive. He held tightly to a small charm given to him by Shannon before entering the house. He said he is "holding on to what we had before she went into the house'. He says it is all he has. He goes on to admit that you shouldn't disrespect other people by schmoozing in on their girlfriends, because it could result in bodily injury. Perhaps the most telling comment was 'all 168 pounds of Will had better bring Hardy with him'!! Autumn and Kent were the two nominees up for eviction and by a ratio of 7 - 0, Autumn was evicted from the Big Brother House. Autumn quickly got up, blew a small kiss, asked not to be walked to the door and quietly left the house. When she arrived in the studio with Julie Chen, she was composed and explained that she knew she was going to be the one voted out. She said that many of her friends felt that she was loosing herself inside the house, and that they may not have been wrong. She was disappointed, though not angry, with Hardy because she felt he rallied to have her evicted. Her boyfriend and her son, Justus were there to greet her and bring her home. (ED note: what a cutie!) In another 'Get to know your HG' challenge, Hardy and Shannon competed to the wire for the HOH title. Hardy won by coming closer to the total age of all HG's still in the house. Wonder who he will nominate! Stay tuned for Saturday's
show to see who Hardy has nominated for Eviction No.3!! The Aftermath and Nominations Shannon left the house without tears or angry words, and some say that she even whispered an "I love you" to Will, although she later denied that to Julie Chen. Shannon expressed embarrassment over the toothbrush issue dismissing it as a childish prank. Shannon and Will's mothers were interviewed and it looks like MAster Will may have some obstacles if he wants to persue a relationship with Shannon. Her mother blatantly states she doesn't like him!! The HOH game this week was all about numbers. The final question of the game was how much money was spent on groceries. The only two contestants were Kent and Mike, making this a very interesting game. Mike answers with 187 and Kent with 700! Kent wins and becomes the next HOH. Who will he nominate?
Does he stick to the game plan of TOP (the other people) and vote CT
(chill town) out? Hmmmm, time will tell! Stay tuned! Phone
Calls, Ghosts, and Chores! Mike
is Evicted, Hardy gets HOH AGAIN!! There was also a lot of new alliances formed and some very surprising! Hardy, Nicole and Will pledge allegiance to one another and Will and Hardy arrived at a truce (or are they just 'playing the game'?). Kent found himself out of favor with many of the HG's as he begin plotting with several and got himself caught in a lie! His discussion with Nicole about Hardy led her to believe that he lied to her. When she discussed it with Hardy, Kent was found to be the culprit, which made him fall from Hardy's good graces! Mike was evicted on a
4 - 1 vote, having, of course, the support his of buddy Will. It was
an emotional eviction for Krista as she found someone she appeared to
genuinely care about. Mike left The HOH competition this week was based on how well you knew the EVICTED HG's, and most of them did pretty well. It came down to Hardy and Nicole, and Hardy won becoming the HOH for a second time. Now he has the 'joyous' task of nominating two more members of the BB family. Stay tuned to see who Hardy nominates this time as the numbers inside the BB house began to dwindle and evictions become even more difficult!!
Getting Over
the Loss of Boogie & Nominations Hardy discussed his postion as HOH. He said that at this point he can only nominate people that need to leave the house. Hardy told Nicole he has some surprises up his sleave that will make the country drop their jaw. Hardy said Kents actions as HOH were not tolerable. Hardy's loyalties are towards Krista and Nicole. Big Brother instructed the HG's to fill out a form saying what their favorite meal is. Each HG was responsible for food 1 day of the week. Hardy told the HG's that each HG represented a day of the week and that he would put each of their favorite meals in a blender. Each HG had to drink their favorite meal and keep it down for 3 minutes. If the HG's were not successful, they would have to eat PB&J the day that the HG lost for them. Hardy explained that he didn't have to do the challenge since he is HOH. However did the challenge, because a true leader does not expect others to do something that he won't do himself. Everyone was successful but Krista - who could not drink her meal. This resulted in a loss for of food for 1 day. Kent decided to quit smoking because he's almost out of cigarettes. All the HG's seemed to be worried about how this will effect the house. BB gave Kent the patch to aid in his quest to stop smoking. Hardy tells BB in the DR that of all the HG, he does not want to see Bunky win BB. Bunky felt like he's being ganged up on because he is friends with Kent. Bunky asked Hardy if he is threatened by him to win the game. Hardy emphatically said NO. Bunky told Hardy he's always voted with the majority of the group and asked Hardy not to nominate him. Hardy does not want Bunky to think he is safe from nominations, because he is not. Will tried to convince Nicole that she is in love with him. She decided to call his bluff and pretend to get in the shower with him - making Will believe that they were going to 'hook up.' When Nicole realized that Will was not backing down, she ran out of the shower. Hardy was down because of getting HOH again. He said that in order to win, everyone else has to lose - amd that's what upsets him. Nicole, who always has words of wisdom, consoled Hardy to bring him out of his "funk." Bunky told Kent that they would be nominated for eviction. Bunky said the was trying his best to get along with everyone. Kent hold Bunky he was being paranoid and that he felt it would be Kent and Monica. Hardy nominated Kent and Will. While in tears, Hardy told Kent that he sincerely admired him as a person, but the occurences over the past week have made him feel differently about Kent. Hardy told Will he nominated him because he is the last remaining member of Chill Town - and Hardy vowed 2 weeks ago that he would take CT out. He did tell Will that he feels closer to him now than before. Tune in on Tuesday to see how the nominations have affected the house. Monica speaks
her mind, Kent explodes and the HG's get a new roommate! Kent
is Evicted and Nicole wins HOH! Hardy's girlfriend was introduced during last nights show. (ED NOTE:We are unsure if Lindsay is Hardy's gi rlfriend or just someone he has been dating). Lindsay told Big Brother that Hardy is much more than a pretty face. She says there is more to him than muscles and that soem of the temper we are seeing is only because he is frustrated. She wasn't happy with Autumn jumping into his bed, but agrees that if her relationship is meant to be, it will be. Kent and Will are nominated as we know and BB does a few clips of how they have been perceived through their stay at the BB house. They show Will being hated, and Kent being loved and also show how quickly that turned around. Will and Kent are given an opportunity to speak as the nominated houseguests. Julie Chen also interviews Hardy. She asks him who he trusts and he is vague. When she presses him for names he tells her Nicole. Kent is evicted from the house in a 4-0 vote. He walks out saying "I am free at last, thank God, I am free at last". He is composed and held his dignity as he left the house. Julie plays a few emotional clips from his fellow hg's as they nominated him. He appears a little emotional as he watches - especially the one from Bunky. Julie talks to him about his relationship with Bunky. He says that he respects Bunky, and his right to live his life anyway he chooses. He says he would have Bunky over to his house for dinner. Kent is met with his wife and two children. The HOH challenge consisted of a shuffleboard painted with rooms of the Big Brother House. Each hg had an opportunity to shuffle their keys down the board. Whoever got closest to the HOH room, would win the honor for that week. Nicole wins HOH for this week. Who will she nominate?
Will her former alliances fall apart and new ones spring forth? Is anyone
safe? Stay tuned to find out! It's
On! Monica and Krista Nominated Bunky mourns Kent's departure, saying, "I never dreamed Kent and I would become friends." Some of the other HouseGuests, however, are upset because Bunky himself voted for Kent's eviction; Krista says, "That guy's such a punk. I thought he was his friend." Bunky thinks that he was doing Kent a favor, believing Kent didn't want to be in the House anymore, and hopes that people aren't "playing" him. With Kent gone, Will congratulates everyone left, noting that the game is halfway done. As the new HoH, Nicole says she is "playing so many games that without pen and paper I can't keep track." She consults with everyone to find out their thoughts about who should be nominated. While talking with Hardy, Nicole suggests Krista, and Hardy recommends Bunky, believing him to be the most powerful threat left. Checking with Krista, Nicole tells her that her friendship with Monica is too strong, then also tells her that she herself, along with Will and Hardy, have pledged to push Krista to victory because they feel she needs the money the most. Krista suggests Bunky should be nominated because of his betrayal of Kent. Nicole talks to Monica next, telling her the same thing: that she's too close to Krista for the other HouseGuests' comfort. Monica counters, telling Nicole that she's just as close to Hardy and Nicole agrees, saying, "You have to worry about powers of two." (Monica, if she's nominated Monica isn't comfortable after talking to Nicole, but that's nothing compared to how Hardy feels. Will tells him that Krista had previously suggested that he nominate Hardy when he gets HoH. Hardy is upset because he's been looking out for Krista's interests since the beginning of the game. Will also informs Hardy that he told Nicole that Monica would stab Krista in the back in a second, but that he doesn't know who he would nominate if he were in Nicole's shoes. Hardy says that, given what Will just told him, he'd definitely put up Krista and Monica in order to get Krista out. Together in the hot tub, Krista tells Monica she's upset at the thought of being nominated against her, saying that Monica is her best friend in the House. Monica is more pragmatic, saying that it's a game decision and not personal and Krista shouldn't take it as such. They call Will over to the hot tub and Monica warns him that "It's on." Will says that he doesn't know what "It's on" means, and Monica explains that it has different meanings at different times. Knowing that, right now, it has a negative meaning, Will offers to discuss whatever is bothering Monica and Krista, but Krista says to him, "Kiss my ass." Will leaves them alone, saying, "Arguing with the two dumbest people I ever met doesn't behoove me." Will comes inside and tells Hardy and Nicole what just happened near the hot tub. Hardy is mad because he feels that Krista has been backstabbing him since Day One, and says, "The more and more I get to know her, the less I appreciate her." Nicole reveals that she told Krista that they intended to push her on to victory, which upsets Hardy because he's not playing for anyone else but himself from now on.) Outside, Krista argues with Will, saying, "You think you saved me? You betrayed me." She believes Will told Hardy and Nicole about the UT alliance, which he did, and Will says he had to because Nicole and Hardy threatened him with eviction.) Krista goes inside and tells Nicole she doesn't want to be nominated next and threatens, "If I leave, you're next. The powers-that-be will make it so." After that, Will comes to Nicole, reiterating his loyalty to her and says that he thinks Krista is acting out for Monica's benefit. He reminds Nicole that evicting Hardy is his first priority and asks for her help, which Nicole agrees to give. Nicole thinks she and Will are in a good position, telling him, "Nothing could be more perfect for us now."
As HoH, Nicole receives a care package from home, including a shirt her husband slept in and his pillowcase. After enjoying those for a few moments, Nicole goes about the nomination ritual. She retrieves the keys from the wall and pauses to look at the photos of the people who've been evicted already.
In the Diary Room with fellow nominee Krista, Monica says, "It will get hot because her fuse is short and mine is too." Monica has coasted through the game to this point, never being nominated and never winning HoH. How will she respond to the pressure of trying to stay in the House? Krista has been nominated before, but has lost the support of her number one ally, Hardy. Who, if anyone, can she count on? And how much longer can the secret deal between Nicole and Will go on before it is broken or revealed? Check back on Tuesday night and watch Big Brother 2 for the answers. A Breath of Fresh
Air Krista
Evicted 3-0 Bunky
Shines, PBJ and America Pie II Hardy does it again!! Nominations are in
and Jenga is on! Bully and the Bitch - IT ONLY GETS BETTER!! 8.28.01 Bunky appears to be handling his first nomination with a new found strength of character. He surprises the public and the HG's with no tears or sad words as he tries to convince Nicole and Hardy to keep him in the house. Although, Bunky does not appear to be angry outwordly, he obviously is struggling with Nicole and Hardy as he calls them the "Bully and the Bitch". The Luxury competition brought excitement for some and anger for Nicole. She was upset with the whole 'arts and crafts' task of taking a styrofoam cut out doll and trying to make it resemble her. She agreed to let Will do the doll for her, but became VERY angry when he attempted to put 'private parts' in the doll. She claims he was doing it in an attempt to 'get a rise out of her'. He says "I was going to cover that up"! The second part of the Luxury competition involved balloons, helium and those cutout dolls. The HG's had to blow up balloons with helium and make their dolls and baskets float above the compound walls. The first two HG's who made their dolls rise would travel in style on a one hour helicopter ride around LA. Will and Bunky were the lucky winners. Nicole was visibly upset with the fact that Will won the challenge (and has since claimed she threw it on purpose after Will was the first winner)! Bunky and Will had a wonderful time in the helicopter - taking pictures eating sandwiches and seeing the sites (which included the Hollywood sign and the Playboy Mansion)! Upon their arrival back to the compound, they were greeted by Hardy and Monica who were excited to hear about their trip. Nicole didn't want to hear about it and spent the time in the HOH room. Will attempted to clear the air, by bringing her a gourmet salad and a glass of wine - she refused and barely spoke to him. Nicole tells Hardy she isn't sure she will be able to live with Will in the house any longer (therefore the should evict him). He doesn't understand why she won't let it all go and reminds her it was her that said she couldn't imagine being alone with Bunky and Monica. During dinner, Will asks Bunky to say whether or not he thinks anyone in the house has had a gay experience. He goes on to say that he thought or hoped, that at first, Hardy was gay, and only when he threw the football, did he realize that maybe he wasn't. He expresses surprise that Will and Hardy are more sterotypical of gay men then Bunky is as they shave their body hair and pluck their eyebrows! Hardy is somewhat offended by the fact that Bunky thinks that Hardy thinks some men are attractive and won't admit it. The houseguests are excited by the America's Choice this week as they will get to shop for free for a period of 90 seconds! Monica and Nicole have a great strategy by grabbing what they can and actually do quite well on their shopping spree. Hardy and Will also seem to shop well and get some nice items. Bunky wasn't quite the shopper the others were, and the HG's felt bad for him and gave him some of their own stuff. Will and Nicole have a heated talk and they come to an agreement that he will try and behave himself, once again! She tells him they can evict him so he better be good. During the Monday meeting, Nicole tells the group that her and Will have worked it out once again and they are going to try and be civil to one another. The nominated HG's get a chance to speak and Will says he is really happy with how the whole team has come together. Bunky says he feels like he has already won and is glad they are all friends! He thanks the HG's for being supportive of him. Hardy is emotionally moved by Bunky's speech. Who
will be evicted this week? Can Bunky sway Nicole to keep him in? Will
Hardy have to break the tie? Who will win the HOH this week and perhaps
break the "POWER OF TWO"? Stay tuned, IT ONLY GETS BETTER!!
De-Bunked! Hardy evicts Bunky With Tiebreaker Vote Courtesy of CBS 8.30.01 Will and Bunky, the two nominees, are using different strategies to deal with their nominations, but share one thing in common: a healthy fear of the Nicole/Hardy tandem. Hardy yells at Bunky while exercising, but then offers to cook him breakfast, an offer that Bunky mocks when alone, calling Hardy a "closet case." Monica says that Nicole and Hardy are running the House, but that they're not her parents and don't have control of her. In the HoH room, Nicole tells Hardy that it's "our bedroom," meaning she has as much right to the HoH title as he does. Hardy disagrees, telling her "it's more my room"--but not everyone sees it that way. When Bunky makes his last-ditch appeal to stay in the House, he goes to Nicole first, indicating where he thinks the power really is. While setting up for the Monday meeting, Hardy tries to usher Monica into one of the red chairs, signifying that he thinks of her as a nominee. Bunky feels that this means Hardy believes Will is already evicted, since Will's chair is the one that was empty at the time. Monica also notes this curious exchange and is concerned that Hardy asked her three times to sit in the chair she didn't belong in. Will talks to Hardy and affirms that he intends to honor the deal they made to keep him in the House. Alone outside lying in the sun, Will refers to Hardy and Nicole as "suckers" for believing him and says, "Some village is missing an idiot if they think I won't stab them in the back." One of the many contrasts between Will and Bunky is how they express their emotions. Will's brother Ian refutes the often-used description of android, saying he's seen Will holding newborn babies and counseling mothers with breast cancer. He knows that his brother is more emotional than the "Evil Doctor" persona he's carved out for himself. "He loves animals and the energy of nature," Ian says. "He loves things that are different." This might explain the friendship that has developed between Will and Bunky, which Gregg, Bunky's husband, notices. He hopes that some of Will's lack of emotion will rub off on Bunky and maybe make him more vindictive in the game. Gregg thinks that this has already started, commenting on the new, tougher Bunky that has been on display all week. In the Diary Room, Monica says that her vote will be based on what she thinks will be best for her strategy, but at this point, it could go either way. Talking to the HouseGuests, host Julie Chen starts with Nicole, asking her about the importance of this next HoH competition. Nicole answers that it's the most important yet if the ending she has planned with Hardy is going to come to pass. Monica believes that her truthful nature is what has kept her in the House for so long and both nominees tell the group that they've had a good experience in the House. Will thanks them for having him for so long, while Bunky feels if he leaves, it was meant to be. Nicole says in the Diary Room that her vote will be based on the strategy she devised with Hardy, and has kind words for both nominees. There
is much discussion in the House about the transformation Hardy has undergone
since the game began. Will says that Hardy has "two faces and they
can flip like that." First is the compassionate Hardy who said
that he wants to push Krista and Nicole to the Finals so one of them
can win, but who gave way to the Hardy that actually voted Krista out.
Bunky has worked out with Hardy and toned his body, but knows that Hardy
"has a temper and can bark at you very quickly." Will and
Bunky both note that the emergence of this less sympathetic Hardy coincided
with his dying his hair black. Talking to Julie, Hardy says he took
his emotions out of the equation when considering nominations, a possible
explanation for his out-of-character behavior. Julie asks him what he'll
do if Nicole doesn't win the next HoH competition, a defeat that would
seemingly harm their plan. Hardy tells Julie that he hasn't even considered
that possibility and doesn't have an answer for that question. Regarding
the upcoming vote and the chance that he might have to cast a tie-breaking
vote in front of the group, Hardy says that he won't let anything get
in the way of his strategy. In the studio with Julie, Bunky is very relaxed after his eviction. He tells Julie he knew it was coming when it went to the tiebreaker, as Hardy had told him he would evict him, if it came to that. "Hardy gave me a nice compliment," Bunky said. "He told me I was a threat." About his emotional nature, Bunky believed that might have helped him with some HouseGuests, but not with others like Hardy and Shannon, people who "didn't feel comfortable with their emotions." Given a chance to change one thing about his Big Brother 2 experience, Bunky wishes he could change his votes against his friends Autumn, Kent and Krista. After watching video tributes from the remaining HouseGuests, Bunky tells Julie that he is happy with the experience of Big Brother 2, mostly because, "for the most part, people saw the real Bunky." With
four people remaining and only three eligible for the HoH mantle, the
next competition is of critical importance, as Hardy and Nicole have
already said. Nicole carries this weight on her shoulders as she goes
outside with Will and Monica to find a replica of the HoH room on the
basketball court. Each HouseGuest takes their key with to the bed, and
puts it into the nomination box. From that point, it's an endurance
contest, with the following rules: one hand on the key at all times,
the key must stay in the box, nobody's feet can touch the ground, Hardy
can bring them only water, not even clothes for warmth or cigarettes,
and there is to be no sleeping. Hardy laughs as the group preps for
the grueling competition and encourages Nicole, prompting Monica to
tell him, "Don't worry. She's not gonna let you down." To
make things more interesting, Julie offers the three competitors a weekend
at a spa in Santa Barbara in exchange for forfeiting the contest. Nobody
takes the deal and the competition goes on. The live Thursday episode
ends in a cliffhanger: all three people are still in contention for
HoH. The balance of power in the House depends on the results of this
event. Find out on Tuesday night which HouseGuest wins the coveted prize.
It's On-ica! Monica "Holds Key" to Power Courtsey of CBS 9.4.01 Picking up from last episode's cliffhanger, Monica, Will and Nicole are in the midst of the HoH competition. Nicole says that this is "the biggest, most important HoH competition yet. If I don't win it, that signs my death warrant. I'll kill myself trying to win." Overhead an airplane trails a banner reading "N & W in hotub Im betrayed & hurt. J," sent by Nicole's husband Jeff. Hardy explains in the Diary Room that the night before the group had gathered in the hot tub and rumors had evidently spread via the Internet that something inappropriate happened between Nicole and Will, upsetting Jeff. He goes on to say that this was an emergency of a serious nature, causing Nicole to worry that her marriage may be over due to the Internet rumors, so Big Brother contacts Jeff because of the incident. Nicole then communicates a message to Jeff, still on the bed competing for HoH, directly to the cameras for transmission over the live Internet feed, vowing that he had absolutely nothing to worry about. With all three competitors still in the game, Hardy makes them an offer on behalf of Big Brother. The first one to take their hand off their key and ring their bell will win a chauffeur-driven limousine ride to the fast food restaurant of their choice. Will, Monica and Nicole reject that offer quickly. Looking at the group, which has tried to cover up with the bed sheets for warmth, Hardy notes that Nicole was "positioned precariously, especially since Will kept moving around." Will tugs on the sheets to better cover himself and Nicole pulls back, taking her hand off her key to do so. As Nicole leaves the bed and the competition, Will apologizes, but Nicole, already upset by the banner, is infuriated. As she walks away, Will looks at Monica and laughs, "One of them [Hardy or Nicole] is going home." In the Diary Room, Nicole rages, "I just lost to Will's ass! And the only good thing in my life is falling apart. Will talks to Monica, saying that he's been deceitful since he got in the House, but hasn't tried to hide it, while others do the same and worse, only they can't admit it. Monica gears herself for the long haul, telling Will that HoH is "something I want. You don't understand." Earlier Will had noted that when Mike and Shannon were evicted, both finished second in the previous HoH competition, leading him to wonder if throwing the competition would be a good strategy. Hardy comes to him and Monica on the bed and makes them another offer: accept the mystery prize, which could be "their wildest fantasy or worst nightmare," or stay in the game. Will takes his hand off the key and rings his bell, saying, "I came in this House to gamble."
Moving into the HoH room, Monica finds her luxury items all laid out for her. She knows that the shift in power has made it hard for some people to feel good about her victory, but she invites the others inside to look at her items. After giving Hardy a beer from her HoH supply, she says, "they're too busy to feel good for me. Krista, Bunky and Kent can be happy for me on the outside." Later, Hardy says that, because of the banner from her husband, Nicole is "coming apart at the seams. If she thinks for a second her marriage is in trouble, she'll leave." After another successful Food Competition, Nicole laments the isolation from her husband, saying, "I got a banner that crushed my world. I don't know what's going on with my husband. I'm throwing my life out the door for a stupid game." Hardy tries to keep Nicole calm, reminding her that nothing happened in the hot tub, telling her that Jeff is going to send her another banner telling her that everything is fine or telling her to come home. Making her first nominations, Monica has what she calls "a little anxiety attack." Nicole and Hardy are also nervous, not knowing Monica's strategy. Will is blasÈ, saying, "I'm always nominated." Gathering the nomination keys, Monica looks to the pictures of Sheryl, Bunky and Krista, calling them "the underdogs," and prepares the nomination box. Hardy reminds Nicole that their plans can still work so long as one of them is kept safe by Monica. Nicole is hopeful, thinking that Monica hates Will enough to nominate him, ensuring "a fun, peaceful House." With only one key to pull, Monica removes Will's key, which leaves Nicole and Hardy up for nomination. Monica tells them, "You two are a power and you threw it in our faces." Will, whose one vote decides who stays and who goes, smiles broadly and calls Monica his "new best friend." Nicole is preoccupied with the banner she saw and says, "I'm nominated and have to live with not knowing what's happening on the outside." Looking back on the decisions and agreements he's made, Hardy says, "I should have been more intelligent with my choices."
HouseGuests, The Tribe Has Spoken! 9.5.01 Courtesy of CBS After Monica's speech to the newly nominated Nicole and Hardy, Will compliments her, saying, "Monica, that was the best nomination speech yet." Nicole and Hardy don't have any bad feelings toward Monica, but they are upset with Will. Nicole sobs, "I'm flabbergasted and disgusted Will may place first or second." Hardy believes that Will "violated the spirit of [their] agreement" when he took the offer from Big Brother and handed the HoH to Monica. "My first instinct was to crush him," Hardy says of Will, but Will remains true to his philosophy. Regarding the House Competitions, Will says, "I incorporated a 'lose everything' strategy" that has kept him appearing weak. Nicole is still greatly upset by the airplane banner she saw, insinuating that her husband was upset over Internet rumors. She cries in her bed, saying repeatedly that she wants to leave the House to be with her husband, but Will tries to talk her out of it, saying later that he needs her around for his strategy. Later, another banner from Nicole's husband flies overhead, saying "[HEART] U N Stay Torment WL 4 Me - CSI" (Translation: "Love you Nicole. Stay and torment Will for me." The CSI reference is a code from her husband to indicate the banner is really from him.) The banner bolsters her spirits and lets her continue on in the game, which is something Will didn't doubt. "She's the mean queen behind the scene," he says, "She wouldn't leave." As a result of the latest America's Choice Question, the backyard is transformed into a "Winter Wonderland." The HouseGuests charge outside and immediately get into a snowball fight. Monica says, "I think it's amazing the way the backyard was transformed." Nicole, however, hates snow and the stuffed penguins and polar bear used for decoration. Will stands behind the polar bear and pretends to speak to Nicole, getting under her skin. She goes back inside to make a sandwich while the others happily build a snowman. Later, Monica returns from the storage room carrying a box of Big Brother 2 T-shirts, but says she doesn't know what they are for. She begins to read the instructions for a "Special Event Challenge," which culminates in her asking if the HouseGuests are ready for the "Ultimate Reality Showdown." As she finishes reading, the doorbell rings, a sound nobody in the House has heard in over 60 days. They rush to answer their front door to find reality TV veterans Alicia, Gervase, Jeff and Sue from SURVIVOR and SURVIVOR: THE AUSTRALIAN OUT BACK waiting for them. After many hugs and screams of disbelief from the HouseGuests, both groups settle in on the patio and get to know each other. Will hits it off with the Survivors right away, telling them House secrets, much to Nicole's dismay. The two groups argue over whose show is more difficult. The Survivors feel that they had it worse than the HouseGuests because at the very least, the HouseGuests get to eat and shower regularly. Gervase does sympathize, telling Will that on SURVIVOR, they could get away from each other when they wanted to be alone, but "in here you could never get away from Sue's voice." Jeff asks Monica who the most annoying person in the House is and Monica tells him that she wouldn't use "annoying" to describe Nicole, but says that her moods affect the group the most. Both teams are having fun meeting their counterparts, but quickly realize that they haven't been brought together just to say hello. There's a competition coming, and may the best reality TV cast win! In a special Luxury Competition called "Fire and Ice," lettered blocks are dispersed throughout the snowed-over backyard, with letters to spell SURVIVOR and BIG BROTHER. With the four team members bound together at the wrists, the teams have to spell out their show's name in a tower of blocks. Completing that, they untie themselves from each other and dive into the pool, which is filled with ice cubes, and one by one retrieve keys hidden on the bottom, place these keys on tiki torches in the backyard and extinguish the flames. The first team to snuff out all four torches wins $15,000 to split among them. As the Competition starts, Jeff throws one of the Big Brother blocks into the pool, making it harder for the HouseGuests to retrieve it. Will says he suggested the same move to the HouseGuests before the Competition, but was shot down by his teammates. The HouseGuests successfully build their tower first with the Survivors right behind. With the HouseGuests winning 2 torches to 1, Monica jumps into the pool, but can't find her key in the cold water. The Survivors overtake the HouseGuests and win the Competition. Of the Survivors, Will says, "They rubbed our noses in it a little bit, but I do that too. I like the Survivors more than anyone on my team." Will and Nicole talk to each other about how much fun they're having with the Survivors in the House, agreeing that "it's a great day." In the kitchen Nicole tells Jeff that the HouseGuests love having them as visitors and Jeff tells her that he's amazed at how openly the HouseGuests discuss strategy, noting that Will and Monica are outside talking strategy right now. Because of their special guests, there's another Luxury Competition to be had, with a prize specific to the HouseGuests. Playing a game called "Crack the Code," each HouseGuest, teamed up with a Survivor, has a chance to win a look at the Internet and the fan websites that have sprouted up in their honor. Hardy and Sue break the code first, barely ahead of Nicole and Alicia. Hardy looks at his fan sites, saying that it's hard to believe that he's really on a TV show and that people are watching them. That night Nicole cooks a dinner for everyone and the Survivors give the HouseGuests advice. Sue tells them that after the game, the people they disliked during the game will become their good friends and says that her relationship with Gervase is a perfect example of that. Alicia is happy to have been there because she knew the HouseGuests "needed a diversion from what was going on in the game." The next morning Sue wakes
everyone by banging pots and pans together. The Survivors are leaving
soon and she "wants to play." Still debating whose show is
more difficult, Will relates the different experiences both groups have
faced. He recalls that on SURVIVOR, a kimodo dragon ate one of their
chickens while in the House, Ophelia the pig ate a loaf of their bread.
"As far as I'm concerned, it's equal," he says. At the Monday
Meeting, the Survivors sit in, begging for a fight between the HouseGuests.
The Survivors offer advice to the group on how to approach their final
days in the game with Sue pointedly telling them, "It's just a
game, but play it hard. Show me a good loser and I'll show you a loser."
Hardy and Nicole both thank the Survivors for showing up, but don't
make any last-minute pleas to Will to be spared in the coming vote.
As the meeting winds down, the Survivors depart the House as they arrived,
with hugs and smiles all around. Nicole says that "having them
here felt like we left the game for a while. But you don't leave this
game." As Will decides whom to evict, the delicate balance in the
House teeters precariously. Find out who is going home on Thursday night
at 9:00 PM on BIG BROTHER 2! Hardy Goes Home; Toothbrush Breathes Sigh of Relief 9.6.01 Courtesy of CBS Nicole reflects on the run she and Hardy had controlling the House. For three consecutive weeks, they were HoH and dictated who stayed and who left. "The only thing bad for us is if Monica wins HoH," she told Hardy on the patio. Monica did become HoH and Hardy and Nicole's nightmare came to life: their power was gone and Will would decide which one of them got evicted. Monica says, "It felt good to let them know they were human." Hardy tells Nicole that he's not going to do anything to persuade Will to keep him, and says, "I'm fine with leaving. But if I stay, I'm kicking his ass." Monica believes that Will, who has made no secret of his deceitful approach to the game, deserves the power that she has given him, and Will is running with it. He believes that Nicole is subtly stabbing Hardy in the back, insinuating to Will that she wants him to keep her in the House. He asks Nicole for a haircut, but Nicole says she won't give him one until Friday, or after the eviction has happened. ( Nicole drops a hint ) "I want to see her stab Hardy in the back one more time," Will says. He balances the reasons he has for evicting either of them, remembering his promise to Shannon, but saying that, "If I had to decide right now, I'd evict Nicole. She's bossing me around, but with Hardy, I'm having fun." Monica looks at all the machinations in the House and simply says, "I prayed for folk in here. Forgive them, for they know not what they do." To the other HouseGuests, Monica has come out of nowhere to grab this tremendously important place in the game. Will says that her approach all along has been to stay "below the radar" and mostly avoid confrontations by keeping out of people's way and not plotting against anyone. Hardy agrees, noting that outspoken players were evicted earlier and says, pointedly, "I did underestimate Monica. I didn't think she could win HoH." He also says he understands that Monica had to nominate him and Nicole together. For her part, Monica says that winning the CD Luxury Competition was the start of her good fortune. In the Diary Room, Will
is starting to focus on whom he's going to evict. "My only regret
is that I can't evict them both," he says. Regarding Nicole, he
says, "I couldn't care less if she left." His feelings for
Hardy are harder to figure out. "I hold him responsible for Shannon,"
Will starts, "but I like him. We have fun. I'm torn. Should I bury
the hatchet and let bygones be bygones, or do I avenge my girlfriend?"
Despite early misconceptions
(Hardy first thought of Nicole as a "bitch on wheels" and
Nicole dismissed Hardy as "eye candy"), Hardy and Nicole have
formed a tight friendship in the House, but not everyone is convinced
of their sincerity with one another. Nicole says their evolution from
strangers to faux-brother and sister started during the conversations
they had while Nicole gave Hardy deep-tissue massages. "His love
and respect for people is huge," she says of him. Hardy was taken
with Nicole's nurturing tendencies, appreciating the way she consistently
cooks and cleans for the entire House. Monica believes their friendship
is genuine, but Will isn't so sure. Regarding Nicole's nurturing ways,
Will says, "[Nicole] tells you when to cook and clean and if you
don't, she has Hardy evict you." He further questions their friendship
by saying, "If they were such good friends, one would sacrifice
[for the other] like Shannon did for me." Monica talks to Julie briefly from the Diary Room at the end of her first reign as HoH. She says she has no regrets in nominating Hardy and Nicole, believing that their power needed to be broken up. She candidly admits to keeping Will as a tool for her strategy, just like Nicole and Hardy had done. Monica says she has no preference which person Will evicts, but that she does want to be next to Will in the Finals. Julie asks, "Is that because you think you can beat him?" Monica replies, "Yes, ma'am." After Will has a brief
talk with Julie of his own outlining the factors in his decision, he
faces Hardy and Nicole. He informs them that Hardy is his choice for
eviction. Hardy gives Will a firm handshake and then kisses Monica on
the cheek. He invites the whole group to the door with him for his farewell,
and repeats words from his father: "Cherish these moments because
nothing like it will ever, ever happen again." He shares a tearful
hug with Nicole, tells her to "Kick ass and take names," and
is out the door. As Hardy makes his way
to the studio, a visibly shaken Nicole goes out to the patio to join
Will and Monica, who are already playing a game of backgammon. Hardy
tells Julie that he's happy with his performance in the game, saying,
"A lot of things went right for me to get this far." The one
thing he'd change from his experience would be to evict Will when he
had the chance. "He gave his word and shook my hand on it several
times. Shows what a handshake can do." During farewell video clips
from the other HouseGuests, Hardy tears up, particularly when discussing
his relationship with Nicole. "It's been a long, long journey.
I'm looking forward to being with family, friends and people who love
me," he says. He reunites with his grandmother and brother, hugging
them both tightly to him.
