Anya is an ex vengeance demon, she was the patron saint of scorned woman. Her plans pretty much sunk after Giles crushed her necklace(her power centre) after she granted a wish for Cordelia that Buffy had never come to sunnydale and returned to her human form.
her attempts to get her necklace back using Willow to help her failed, and Willow had a vampire twin as a result of the spell, they managed to send the twin back in the end not before stopping it cause havoc at the bronze. After going to the prom with Xander she fled sunnydale after hearing about the ascension.She came back to sunnydale in season four and went to a halloween party with Xander,only to find he was trapped in the house (this included Giles with a chainsaw trying to get them out Lol). This is the first moment we realised that Anya's feelings for Xander were true. |
The gang began to trust her and she became part of the scooby gang.She even found a place in the world as Giles offered her a job in the magic shop.She finally overcome her differences with Willow after a fight in the magic shop (which involved Anya's demon ex-troll-boyfriend)
She then got engaged to Xander after he proposed to her in "the gift". They later broke up after Xander decided at the wedding that it was not what he wanted. Anya went back to being a vengeance demon and even had a brief fling with Spike to get back at Xander.
