Dates Every Avengers Fan Should Know
Jan. 7, 1961: The Avengers's first episode, "Hot Snow," was aired.
September 29, 1962: Cathy's first episode, "Mr. Teddy Bear," was aired.
March 21,1964: Enter Emma Peel! (Well, kind of.) Cathy's last episode, "Lobster Quadrille," was shown.
Oct. 2, 1965: Emma's first episode, "The Town of No Return," was aired.
September 25, 1968: Tara's first (and Emma's last) episode, "The Forget-Me-Knot," was shown.
May 21, 1969: 5-4-3-2-1-blast off! Steed and Tara blast off into space in "Bizzare," the last episode... or so we think, until
October 19, 1976: The first episode of The New Avengers, "The Eagle's Nest," is aired.
October 27, 1977: Emma's coming back? We wish. She just reappears using old film in the New Avengers episode, "K is for Kill."
September 6, 1978: Farewell, Steed! The Avengers goes off the air for the last time. (Unless you count the movie, and frankly I wouldn't.)
So, 2000-2001 are big years -- with Emma's 35th anniversary and the Avengers's 40th! Pop open a bottle of champagne!
