Video Pinball
was released in 1980 by both Atari and Sears.  The game is quite simply a video game version of a pinball machine.  When you shoot the ball into play, you can move the joystick up and down to adjust the distance that you want to pull the plunger back, then press the red fire button to release the plunger and shoot the ball into play.  Control the flippers with the joystick.  Moving the joystick right moves the right flipper.  Moving the joystick left moves the left flipper and pressing the joystick forward moves both flippers.  You can also "nudge" the ball while it is in play by pressing the red button while moving the joystick in the direction that you want to the ball to go.  If you nudge too much, you will tilt.  When you tilt, the top portion of the screen turns red, your flippers freeze, you can not score points and eventually you will lose the ball through the drain.  If you scored an extra ball, you lose it.  On the right side of the screen, there is an Atari logo.  If the ball goes over the Atari logo 4 times, you get an extra ball.
