Swordquest: Earthworld
is the first game of a series of four games that Atari planned to release.  The series was to consist of Earthworld, Fireworld, Waterworld and Airworld.  Each game was to come with a comic book.  There was a contest for each individual game and there was going to be a super contest between the winners of the 4 individual games, but the final individual contest and the super contest never happened.  Earthworld and Fireworld were widely released and their contests were held.  The Earthworld winner won a prize valued at $25,000 (the Fireworld prize was also awarded).  Waterworld was available to Atari Club members (I don't think the Waterworld contest was ever held, but I'm not sure), but didn't make it to the stores.  Airworld wasn't released at all.

The Earthworld game was kind of a puzzle / Dungens & Dragons type game.  The basic story is that a great warrior Tarr was slain by the evil king Tyrannus and his men.  You are his kids and you are trying to find the Sword of Ultimate Sorcery to get revenge for your father's death.  You start out in Earthworld.  There are 12 rooms (one for each of the Zodiac signs).  You go into each room and press the button to see the Zodiac sign.  It's a puzzle thing.  There isn't much action.  This game is easy to find for really cheap.
