Alien
, like many games for the Atari 2600, was very similar to the game Pac-Man.  The game was very loosely based on the movie Alien.  Your goal in the game is to stomp on all of the alien eggs on each level.  If you grab a pulsar, you can then destroy the aliens by touching them (very similar to the power ups in Pac-Man).  Unlike Pac-Man, in Alien you get a flame thrower.  Just imagine Pac-Man with a flame thrower...that sure would have been an interesting spin on the game!  In addition to the Pac-Man like boards of Alien, you have bonus boards between each regular board.  On the bonus boards, your goal is to run from the bottom of the board to the top of the board through lines of aliens which move either left to right or right to left.  This is very similar to the game Frogger, but you can only move up and down, not right or left.  I guess that makes it more like the Activision game Freeway.  Overall, Alien is a pretty fun game to play!  I like it better than the Atari 2600 version of Pac-Man anyway.  Alien is a bit more difficult to find than your average game, but you can still pick up a copy for under $10.
