Far from Home

Spoilers: Only for Buffy. There are a couple of scenes from the previews for season 3 that were out in August and September. I wrote through part 4 before the season premiere aired and the way I put the scenes in the stories doesn't spoil anything.

Rating: PG-13, I guess. Nothing too graphic.

Summery: After Buffy loses Angel, she leaves Sunnydale and ends up in Capeside where she takes a job as a waitress, moves into the Icehouse, and introduces herself as Angel Summers. Her friends are concerned, but have no idea where she is. She is having dreams about Angel that she believes to be prophesies. Meanwhile, Dawson and Joey decide to have a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship after he kisses her and she decides not to go to France. Jen has gone on vacation somewhere and Pacey is hitting on Buffy.

Distrubution: Ask me and ye shall recieve.

You should read the other parts of the series before you read this.

Far from Home Part 3

Willow was finally out of her wheelchair.

"Are you sure you want to do this?" Xander asked, worried.

"We have to," Willow replied. "Buffy's been gone for two weeks and Giles can't find any sign of her. Someone has to do this. It's the least we can do to help until we find her."

"But, I mean, are you sure you are well enough?"

"Yes," Willow insisted. "See my expression? Remember it? You can't change my mind."

"Great. Look what happened last time you had that expression. Buffy's gone!"

"Oh, shut up about your precious Buffy!" Cordelia said. "We're all worried, obviously, but don't be so pessimistic. Now, we're here. Get out of my car!"

"I'm sorry, honey," Xander took her hand.

"Look... um... if anyone sees how that shirt clashes with my dress I'll be a laughing stock. Now out of the car!"

"Come on, Xander," Willow pulled him out of the car and Cordellia drove away. "Look, I know you still love Buffy, but you can't talk about her like that around your girlfriend. Do you know how that must make her feel?" Willow asked, knowing full well.

"What? In love with... that's completely ridiculous. I am so over her," Xander said uneasily.

"Uh huh," Willow said in disbelief. She sighed. "Poor Buffy. I just wish-- I just wish we knew where she was. Well, come on."

About ten minutes later, nothing had happened.

"Here, vampires, vampires, vampires. Come and get it big boy!" Willow yelled. Suddenly, she got her wish. A vampire jumped out and grabbed her. Willow screamed. She couldn't move. Xander started to run over to help. The vampire was about to bite her when a stake went in and out of its chest from behind and it turned to ashes.

"What the hell do you think you two are doing?" a light blond haired girl demanded from behind where the vampire was standing.

"Yeah, Wil. Come and get it big boy? Just terrible," Xander said. Willow found herself able to move again.

"Slaying vampires?" Willow said timidly. "Or at least trying to."

"I thought I was the only one?" the girl asked, confused.

"What did you just say?" Xander asked in alarm. "Who are you?"

"Jen. The vampire slayer."

"Where is Jen? Where did she go? Why was she so secretive about it? When vacation is over we have to go back to school and--"

"Shut up, Dawson!" Joey moaned from his lap. "I'm sure she's fine."

"Yeah, I guess. I'm sorry, I'm just worried because she wasn't taking her grandfather's death very well as you could see that morning."

"Yeah," said Joey, "well, maybe this will make you stop worrying for a minute." She leaned in and kissed him on the lips. He pulled her closer. A short time later, Dawson was trying to untuck Joey's shirt so that he could feel her body underneath when door slammed.

"Joey!" Bessie called into her house. "Jo, are you here? You're late for work!" Joey quickly jumped out of Dawson's lap and sat down on her bed.

"In here, Bessie!" she called. "Just sit there and look innocent," she whispered to Dawson.

"Joey, you're late for--" Bessie glanced at Dawson. "Oh. I didn't know you weren't alone."

Joey felt herself turning red. "Dawson came over to give me a book. I'm sorry, I didn't know it was so late."

"Yeah," Bessie said suspiciously. Joey had been extremely jumpy everytime she mentioned Dawson lately. "Poor Angel's been working really hard all by herself. She was supposed to help you have less work, not alliviate you of all of it!"

"I'm sorry," Joey said. "Look, I'll be out in a minute. I just have to... brush my hair."

"Okay," Bessie said. "It is a mess." Joey smiled at Dawson when Bessie left.

"This is fun," she said, "but I think Bessie's starting to get suspicious."

"Why don't we just tell them?" Dawson asked.

"Are you kidding? They would never allow us to be alone again. I'm kind of glad Bessie came home though," Joey added. "We've only been together for two weeks. We have to take our time, even if it's just getting to second, or we'll get bored of each other. I want you," she reassured him, going to Dawson and putting her arms around him, "and we have all the time in the world. No rush."

"This isn't going to be a repeat of Jen, who wouldn't let me touch her, is it?" Dawson asked very frustratedly. Joey stood up in front of him and glanced up to make sure that the windowshade was down.

"I wouldn't worry," Joey said slyly, lifting the front of her shirt to reveal nothing but her bra underneath. She quickly pulled her shirt back down. "I've gotta go."

"You are such a little tease," Dawson caught her in his arms before she left the room.

"If you play your cards right, maybe you'll get some hands-on guidance," Joey smiled. Dawson leaned in and kissed her until they heard Bessie yell again.

"I've got to go," Joey said reluctantly, but not moving.

"I love you, Joey Potter," Dawson whispered, not letting her go. Joey smiled. It was the first time he had used the word love to mean more than friends.

"I love you, too, Dawson Leery," she whispered back. She went to kiss him again when they heard Bessie come into the house.

"Now, Joey!" she screamed.

"Bye, Dawson," Joey took his hands in hers and started to walk away. He didn't let go until she was too far away for him to keep holding on. Dawson smiled to himself, jumped out the window, jumped into his rowboat, and rowed back home.

"No," Xander whispered, "you're lying. You can't be. That means Buffy's dead!" Xander screamed. Jen looked confused.

"Angel must have killed Buffy and then the curse worked before he opened Acathala," Willow said with tears in her eyes. "He would never come back to us again feeling the guilt from that."

"Okay, I missed something..." Jen said.

"Come with us. You have to see Giles," Willow said.

"Buffy can't be dead!" Xander yelled. "I love her," he added quietly.

"I know," Willow whispered, "I know. Come on."
