" Professor anything yet on Jessica's stae of mind?" Jean asked as she walked into room where the professor was using Cerebro. "No. It appears as if her mind is not her own anymore. I'm trying to get throught to her by revealing the truth, but she seems to be fighting it." he said "Let me help you." she said as she sat a cerebro. 'Jessica it's Jean. I know you're still in there. Remember when we were kids and you hurt your knee? You told me that you'd give anything to be able to heal people and keep them from feeling pain. Then you realized you had the power of healing. You weren't afraid of it you were happy. Do you remember that?' she asked telopathicly. Jessica sat up in her bed. "Jean?" she whispered into the darkness." I remember." she said softly "She rembers things now." Jean said to the professor "Keep reminding her of the things in her past." he said 'Jessica remember that little girl you saved? You said it was the best feeling you had ever had. Do you remember that?'she asked "Yes I remember." she whispered again." I remember it all." she said as she walked out of the room. Suddenly she slid on something on the ground and fell down the stairs. "Oh no I've lost her." Jean said to the professor "What do you mean you lsot her?" he asked "She remembered everything then suddenly her mind went blank and I lost contact with her." she said "She could have just blocked you out let me try again?" he said 'Jessica are you there?' No answer." She appears to be gone. Jean I think you should perpare yourself for the fact that she maybe dead. Something happened to her mind or to her." he said "No professor. I won't believe that she's gone. She one of my best friends I can't loss her again" she said as she tried again to get through to her. Scott came in and the professor told him what had happened he walked over to Jean and put his hand on her shoulder. "Scott don't say you think she's gone to." she said sadly. "Jean I don't know. I just know that you have to let her go for now." he said " I can't if she's still there i have ot get her to remember." she said "Remember what? That she attacked us and tried to kill us? That we left her behind after Sinster took her? Jean thats all she gonna remember. We left her to fend for herself." he said "But we didn't know that she still there. We thought she had gotten on the plane with us. By the time we realised what had happened it was to late they were gone. Logan couldn't even find her sent." she said "But that's not how she's gonna remember it." he said "Oh Scott I've lost her." she cried as he held her in his arms. "I'm so sorry Jean." he said Gambit had been standing in the door way and heard everything they were saying. It was his fault. He should never have left her side. He knew she didn't have any powers. He knew she couldn't fend for herself, but he had left herside to save Rogue's. She turned and walked out. It was a good thing he did. She didn't even love him. At least Rogue loved him. He thought bitterly as he walked to his room. He may not be able to touch Rogue, but at least she loved him. He thought again as he closed his eyes.
