Chapter Nine
"You see Jessica your cage was made speacially for you. I designed it so that it would react with your powers the more you touch it the weaker your powers will get until they and you no longer exist." Sinster said as she once again tried to swing toward Gambit.
'If I can get my cage close enough to Gambit's I can reach his hands and dispower this thing then free everyone so that I can porperly beat the snot out of him.' she thought as she tried again.
"Oh keep on Jessica I shall have your destorction as well as the gense of the X-Men. I'll be back to check on you progress." he said as he walked out.
"Jessica what are you doing?" Jean asked
"Trying to save us all. and not get myself killed in the prossees." she said as she reached for the bars again and was thrown back.
"Jessis stop it y'll hurt y'er self." Gambit said
"Rogue hand me your gloves." she said as she reach through the bars or Rogues out stretched hand.
"Come on suga reach a little farther." she said as she stretched farther
"I almost got it just a little bit more." she said she grabbed the end of the gloves and once she got a hold of them her amr brushed the edge of the bar." Ouch. I got it." she said.
"Hey it didn't knock you back." Jubilee said
"It only reacts when I touch it with my skin." she said
"So if you use Rogue's gloves you can get out of it without loosing your powers." Jubilee said
"Well not quite. I have an idea and i think it might work." she said
"What is it?" Scott asked
"Gambit when I swing toward you you have to grabbed my hand. We only have one shot at this because the power it gonna start to burn through her glove so we have to do it right the first time." she said as she swung toward him with her hand out stretched.
"I got you Jessie." he said as he grabbed her hand.
"Okay now consintrat with me I have to use all the power i have left to deactivat this and you'll be the host of my power okay?" she said
"Alright Jessie." he said
"Okay here it goes." she said as she began to consintrate her powers suddenly there was a loud blast and she and Gambit fell to the ground as both the cages broke open sparks flew from her cage as it crashed to the ground with her and Gambit.
"Umph." she said as Gambit landed on top of her.
"Jessie are you okay?" he asked as he leaned over her.
"I feel defferent." she said softly." I feel weak like a human." she said with a softly smile.
"Dat's funny because i feel stronger than i did before." he said
"Because you have my power and can now defeat Sinster." she said
"Jessie can you get your power back." he asked
"I don't know." she said
"Well it seems you've figured out how to get out of your cage now i'll just have to put you back in it." Sinster said as he shot at them Gambit rolled them both behind the computerized machine to protect them from Sinster.
"Gambit it's up to you now to save the X-Men. You're their only hope." she said as she rasied her hand toward the device on his nack and took it oof.
"Jessie I'm not leaving oyu here again." he said
"You have to. It's the only way." she said
"No not again." he insisted.
"Gambit please you have to save yourself and the X-Men please do it for me." she said
I'll be back for you I promise." He said as he ran out to fight Sinster. She sat there and consintrated on Gambit. He was determind not to let her get hurt and he wanted to rescue the others. She had one choice to make and that was to sacrofice herself to save the lives of all those she cared about.
