Chapter Eight
"It no use Chere I can't get throught to her no more. She's gone." he said after hours of trying to connect with Jessica's emotions.
"Try Gambit keep on she's our only hope." Jean said
"It's not working Chere I can't find anything on her. Y'er the one with Telopt'ic powers you do it." he said
"My powers are gone all thats left is your connection to Jessica it's theo nly thing that Sinster can't touch." she said
"Chere I can't do it anymore." he said
"You have to keep trying Gambit she's our only hope." she said.
"Come on Gumbo you can do it." Wolverine said.
"I didn't know you cared so much about love." Jubilee said
"It's not love I care about kid it's our lives at stake and if that girls love for the cajun will save us then i'm all for it." he said
"I'm not a kid and i'd really wish you'd stop calling me that." she spat out.
"You're right you're not a kid anymore. You're a flurshing growing young woman and will be my greatest experiment." Sinster said as he came back into the room.
"Leave her alone Sinster." Scott said
"Ah Scott Summers protecting another woman? You and and Jean will be my parents ofmy new generation." he said
"No I don't think they're wanting to be parents until they're married." Wolverine said.
"Oh, but they will start off the new genes and make me proud." he said as he continued to keep powering his machine.
"Just let Jessica go you don't need her." Scott said
"Ah, but i do. You see I am aware of the connection her and Gambit here have to each other and I plane to use that to make my creation stronger." he said
"Y'don touch her." Gambit said
"And what pray tell will you do to stop me hmmm?" he asked
"Whatever it takes." he said
"How can you when you don't have any powers. You're useless."he said
" Let her and da rest go keep me."he said
"Oh well you see i can't do that, but if you don't do what i say then your presious Jessica here will never wake up she'll remain asleep forever." he said
"Gambit don't do it." Scott said.
"Yes Gambit listen to him. you don't want to loose the only woman you lvoe whom you can touch." he said
"He's just trying to mess with your head fight him Gambit." Morph said." Do it for Jessica."he said
"Yes Gambit do it for Jessica." sinster said
"He's right Jessie wouldn't want me to hurt myself to save her." he said as continued to try to get through to Jessica.
"Giving up on her so soon?" he said
"She doesn't mean dat much to me." he said plainly as he finally got through to Jessica.
"You lied to me." she mumbled.
"How can. That's impossible. " sinster said as Jessica began to wakeup.
"You were just useing me to get to Rogue how could you do that to me? you lieing cajun you!" she said as she slowly sat up.
"Jess you're okay." Jubilee said.
"You lied to me." she said again as she looked over at Gambit. She reached for the bars to try and get to Gambit, but was thrown backward again." Umph." she said as she hit the ground.
"Jess!" Jean said
"Oh do becarful sweet Jessica don't let your emotions get the better of you." sinster said
She sat on the bottom of her cage for awhile until she was able to stand again. Once again she tried to swing herself toward Gambit's, but she was shocked again.
