Chapter Seven
"Okay let's find her." Scott said as they walked through the island in search of Jessica.
"Gambit you're gonna have to face the facts that she may not be alright." Rogue said as they apporched the caves where they once fought Sinster.
"I know she's alive."he said as they entered the cave and saw Jessica in a cage." Jessie!" Gambit said as he went to her. Just as he went to open the cage it shocked him so bad that he fell back.
"Gambit." Jessica whispered softly as her eyes fluttered opened.
"Yess Jessie it's me I'm here." he said without touching the cage.
"How can we her out without shocking ourselves?" Rogue said
"She has to use her powers. REmber Jess." Jean said as she went into her mind.
Suddenly flashes of Jessica's past came to her. She started to remember everything she did even attacking the X-Men and setting them up for Sinster to get a hold of. She looked at them then feeling guilty over what she did fell to her knees in the cage.
"I'm so sorry." she muttered.
'It's alright Jess you didn't know.'Jean said in her mind.
"Jean I thought the professor said that you couldn't use your powers to get through to her memories." Scott said
"Not when she first came to us because her memories were locked away, but here in this place where she was first attacked at her memories started to come back to her. She was pushing them away because of something that Sinster did to her. I managed to brake through it. she now remembers everything she did and who she was. She remembers it all." she said
"Jean help me please." Jessica said weakly
'Hang on Jess I'll help you.' she said as she began to try and move the lock with her powers.
Suddenly her powers stopped working and she fell to her knees as something was put around her neck."Ahh" she said as she went to her knees.
"Jean!" Scott said as he went to her, but he to had something go around his neck" Ahhh" he said as he too went to his knees.
"Welcome back X-Men." Sinster said as all the X-Men were captured and put in cages." It was quite easy once I got Jessica here. i kne you'd be here to save her." he said
"Let them go Sinster." She said
"So you remember everything now do you?" he said
"I sure do I rember it all." she said as she tried, but failed at getting out of the cage it shocked her and knocked her backwards.
"Ohh be carful there Jessica you might hurt yourself and i wouldn't want that to happen to you." he said
"You won't get away with this Sinster." Scott said
"I already have." he said as he went to his machine and began to power it up and then he left.
"I'm sorry you guys." Jessica said softly.
"It's okay Jessie it's not your fault." Gambit said from the cage beside her.
"He's right it's not your fualt." Wolverine said
"You mean you trust me now?" she asked weakly.
"Yeah kid i do." he said
"I'm not a kid." she said as she lost touch with reality once again and passed out.
"She has to stay a wake in order to sue her powers." Jean said
"Jessie petit wake up now." Gambit said.
No responce.
"Jessica wake up gal come on we need you." Rogue said
"It's no use she's not responding." Storm said
"She has to. Jess please wake up!" Jubilee said.
"Wait there is a way. I noticed it on the way up here. She and Gambit have a connection to each other beyond our powers." Morph said.
"I noticed that to. Gambit try to get to her." Jean said softly.
"How do i do dat?" he asked
"Just look inside you and use the feelings you have for her to connect with her." she said
"I try Chere, but i don t'ink it will work." he said as he tried to connect to her.
"Gambit." she whispered weakly.
"Jessie stay with me okay. I can't do dis wit'out y'er help." he said softly.
"I'm so cold and tired. I can't do it Gambit." she said
"But Jessie y' have to for me. for da sake of da X-Meny' have to." he said
"I'm sorry i can't it's to hard." she said as she once again passed out.
"Try again Gambit and keep trying until she wakes up fully she's our only hope." Jean said
