Destiny's Choice Part One: The Posion

"Oh gosh I'm late as always. Ashley is going to kill me." Zhane heard the girl mumble as she rushed toward him.
He turned around to move out of way, but didn't have time she crashed into him knocking them both down on the ground. Everything she had in her hands and he had in his hands went flying to the ground as they did.
"Oh my gosh I'm so sorry are you okay? I wasn't paying any attention. I'm sorry, but I really have to go. Are you really okay?" the girl asked in such a rush Zhane couldn't help, but burst into laughter.
The girl looked at him in confusion." Oh my lanta I've hurt your head haven't I?" she said as she exaimed his head.
"Well, you now i know why you've been going off to unknown places.It's nice to know that at least she's cute." Andros said before Zhane could say anything
"Huh? Oh. no this isn't... I ran into him... and we... fell." she said as she jumped to her feet.
"Really?"Andros asked not really believing her
"It's the truth Andros. I heard her talking to herself and I looked up to see her running toward me I went to move out of her way when she knocked me over. Then she started rambleing and I started to get a headache. Then i just started laughing. She thought she injured my head." he said as he stood up.
"So you're not hurt you just found my ramblings funny?" the girl asked
"No, I'm not hurt and yeah i did. What's your name?" he said
"Cora, and yours?" she asked
"Zhane." he said as he took her outstretched hand." and this is Andros." he concluded
"Andros. Cora." Both Andros and Cora said at the sametime
"You two know each other?" Zhane asked
"No, I've heard a lot about you from Ashley." she said
"Same here. She talks about you alot."Andros said
"Well, if it's all good then believe every word, but if it's not good then don't believe one word of it." she said with a smile
They laughed as Ashley, Cassie,T.J,and Carlos came up to them
"Corrie!" Ashley said as she went over to her and the two shared a tight hug
"Cor." Carlos said as he went to her and hugged her as well.
"Oh wow, It's been such a long time since I've seen you all. Cass, T.J I don't get hugs from you." she asked as they both walked over giving her big hugs.
"It's been a while since we've seen you too." Cassie said
"Yeah so how've you been?" T.J asked
"I've been good." she said
"I take it you've already met Andros and Zhane." Ashley said
"Yeah we've met." she said as she held back a bubble of laughter.
"Okay I missed something here. Tell me what I missed." Ashley said as they sat down on a bench.
"First of all I didn't do it on purpuse." Cora said looking at Zhane.
"I didn't say you did." he said
"Didn't do what?" Carolos asked
"Well, I was running late." she started and was interrupted by Zhane
"And she really was running." he said
"Shush. Late me finish well ya." she said teasingly. He just gave her a look and she went on." Any how. As I was saying I was running late because I told you I'd be here by three and it's already three-thirty. So I was trying to hurry up and get here when I ran into Zhane here." she as Zhane once again interrupted her
"And knocked me and my things over." he said
"It wasn't on purpuse." she insisted.
"And then I saw the two of them on the ground and thought she was Zhane's reason for running off to unknown places." Andros said
"Which I cleared up." she said as she lowered her lashes.
"Well, Cora he is cute you know." Ashley said causing her friend to blush
"Oh how cute she blushes." Zhane said teasingly
Cora's blush just increased and she lowered her head and gave a soft smile.
"Well, I think we've found a new thing to tease her about T.J" Carlos said as he put an arm around Cora who regained her composer and looked up to see all of her friends and her two new friends looking at her.
"Well, you guys have you're fun I'm not going to let you tease me and get away with. So just remember what goes around comes around.... Ashley." she said and looked directly at Ashley who quickly looked down.
"Alright you win, but come on he's a great guy that can show you around." she said
"Yeah I could do that if you don't mind?" he said as he looked at Cora who looked at him and smiled shyly
"Well, just so you know that I'm just getting out of a relationship and I'm not looking for another one now."she said
"Undrestood." he said" Maybe if you stay long enough I can get you over this dumb guy that broke your heart." he said
"He's not dumb. He just had things he had to do." she said softly
"More important than the woman he loves. Ha!" Zhane said." But we'll not talk about it now." he concluded as they walked toward the surf spot.
They talked for a long time until it started to get dark then Cora went to Ashley's to stay with her.
"So what doya think of Zhane?" Ashley asked as her friend came out of the shower.
"Oh he's super great guy and I'd love to get to know him, but I was crazy in love with this other guy and he broke my heart so I'm not sure if being with Zhane is going to help that or not." she said softly as she sat down on the edge of Ashley's bed.
"You never told me about this guy who is he?" Ashley asked
"Oh it doesn't matter. I'm really tired Ash let's get some sleep." she said going over to her side of the bed
"Alright. If you want to ever talk about it I"m here for you." ashley said as they fell asleep
Cora's dreams where filled with the images of the guy who left her.
"You can't leave me." she said to him
"But I have to. He's my brother. I"m not going to let him go and leave me here." he said
"Don't you love me?"she asked
"More than you know, but I have to do this. I'll find away back to you." he said and then he was gone and there was some strange person there she was laughing and she had this bottle of something she was coming toward her. Cora couldn't move and then suddenly she felt this pain of some kind go through her being she screamed out in pain.
Cora woke up screaming and sweating. The sun was already high in the sky and she was shaking by the time Ashley, Carlos, T.J, Cassie, Andros and Zhane came into the room.
"Cora what's wrong. Shh it's okay I'm here." Ashley said as she comforted her shaken friend
"It hurt so bad. I tried to move, but i couldn't." she said as she held onto Ashley.
"It was just a dream you're alright now." she said comforting.
She pulled away from Ashley and looked at her." But Ash this isn't the first time I've had this dream. It starts out the same way with me saying good-bye to the man that I love for what I feel is the last time I'll ever seeing him alive. Then it changes and this other person whom I can't really see clearly is there and she starts laughing and i try to run away, but I can't something is holding me back or down i can't really tell. Then she take this tiny vile and pours it's cotents into my mouth. I can feel this intense pain as it seems to burn my insides as it goes down. Then I wake up screaming, sweating and shaking like a leaf." she said as she stood up and began to pace the room." Maybe someone is trying to tell me something. Maybe something horrible is going to happen to me or someone I love." she says as she stops and stars out the window.
"Aw hunny nothings going to happen to you or anyone you love." Ashley said
"Yeah you're in Angel Grove the home of the power rangers" Zhane said coming over to her
"Yeah, but it still feels like something's going to happen, but I can't put my finger on it." she said as she put her hand on the window
As the months went by Cora continued to have the dreams. She continued to feel that something horrible was going to happen and she prayed that it wouldn't happen to the man she loved. Her and Zhane grew closer to each other and as they were sitting in the park waiting for the others she felt it was right to tell him how she felt about him.
"Zhane I like you alot, but I'm afraid." Cora said as the two of them sat on the grass.
"What are you afraid of?" he asked
"I'm afraid that if I give you my heart you'll leave me and brake my heart." she said
"Well, I won't leave you unless I'm dying." he said
"Oh don't say that. Not after all the horrble dreams I've been having." she said as he put his arm around the back of her
"Okay, Then I'm here until you find someone better." he said as he softly kissed her cheek.
"That's better."she said leaning against him
She laughed as he kissed her softly. Still she couldn't shake the feeling that something was missing.
"Awww" Cassie said as she and the rest walked up to them.
"Well," Ashley started, but the familar beeping of their communicaters interrupted her.
"What was that?" Cora asked as she looked around
"Oh nothing. Hey Cora you going to be ookay here for a while I just remembered something that I have to do and I need the others to help me on it." Ashley said
"Yeah, but can I help?" she asked
"Oh no it's a surprise."she said
"Alright don't take to long."she said as they sprinted off
"We read you Alpha." Andros said
"Rangers there's a monster attacking the park you must go there now." he said
"Right we're on our way." he said as they all teleported to the park.
Cora had decided to walk in the park to pass time while Ashley and the others were gone. She used this time to think about her and Zhane's relationship it was so different from hers and Leo's. Leo. She hadn't thought his name since he left her. She was so lost in her thougths that she didn't hear anything or see anything until something grabbed her. Then she saw the rangers.
"Oh no Cora!" Ashley said as she fought off the quantrons around her to make her toward the monster that held Cora. Suddenly Cora broke free of it as Ashley and Zhane came over to fight it. Cora picked up the only thing she could find a broken tree limb and smacked the monster over the back of the head with it. The monster was stunned, but turned on Cora he grabbed her and slung her against a tree. Cora fought to stay a wake as the other rnager fought the monster.
Atronema was watching the rangers fight her monster and then she noticed the young girl on the far right. She watched her intently. She watched as the pink ranger went over to the girl and sheilded her from the monster. She kept watching and then it hit her.
"Ah ha. I now know how to bring the rangers down on their knees." she said into the air" Gelctro come here at once." she said to the monster
"But," the monster started
"I said now!" she shouted
"At once." he said and teleported back
The rangers looked around in confusment as the monster disappeared.
"Okay that was weird." Ashely said
"Yeah it was." Cora said softly" Thank you for saving me." she said
"Cora are you okay?"Ashley asked as Cora fainted.
"I've gotcha." Zhane said as he cuaght Cora before she hit the ground.
"Let's get her back to the infermity." Andros said as they teleported back.
"Why did you stop me from destorying the rangers?" Gelctor asked
"Because I want you to help me put this "She held up a small vile." into that girl that was there. The one that wasn't a ranger. The one the pink ranger was trying desparatly to protect." she said
"Oh I know who you're talking that little brat hit me over the head with a tree limb." he said as he took the vile." what is this stuff?" he asked
"Posion and if you keep sniffing it you'll end up like that girl will. Nothing but a memory." she said" Now go find her now." she said as she took the vile back from the monster and they both disappeared.
"Cora are you okay?" Zhane asked as she walked into the living room area.
"Yeah I'm fine now. I guess that monster really scared me." she said as she sat next him. *BEEP BEEP BEEP*" And here we go again. What is that noise?" she questioned rubbing her head
"We'll be back I promise." she said as she left.
"Yeah a nother surprise" she said" Oh well I guess I'll go to the libaray." she said as she walked out.
"AH HA THERE YOU ARE!"Atronema said
"What are you?" she asked
Then suddenly she couldn't move her arms and legs seemed to be stuck to the ground.
"I'M ASTRONEMA. and now you're going to weaken at least two of the power rangers." she said "What I don't even know the power rangers they just saved me from a creepy monster which I'm sure you brought down to erath." she shouted at her "Oh yes I did and you do know the rangers they've been right under your nose this whole time.... Why don't you just ask AShley and your new found love.... Zhane NOW OPEN WIDE." Astronema said as she forced her mouth open and pour the contents of the vile into her mouth. She choked and sputered as the contents went down her throat. Just as suddenly she was realsed from the invisable hold and she fell to the ground. Her last concsious thought was of Zhane
"Cora!" Zhane said as he saw her on the ground
"Oh no."Ashley said going to herside
Zhane lifted her small body into his arms." She's barly breathing." he said
"We'll take her to the infirmaty." Andros said
They teleported to the infirmaty.
"Alpha something's wrong with her." Zhane said as he laid Cora down on a table.
"Mmmm"Cora murmered as she regained consciousness.
"Cora" Zhane said softly as he brushed his hand over her face gently she slapped out at him weakly.
"No get away you unfashionable freak. What kind of name is that anyway?" she said weakly
"Cora? Who are you talking about? It's me Zhane." he said in confusion
"Zhane?" she said opening her eyes and focusing on him.
"Yeah it's me." he said
"I thought you were that Astronema freak." she said
"Astronema did this to you?" Ashely questioned.
"I couldn't move. Some sort of thing held me down while she poured some horrible liquid down my throat. I thought I was going to die." she said as she sat up.
"Liquid? What did it tast like?" Alpha asked
"Oh my lanta Zhane there's a small robot talking to me." she said as she held onto Zhanes arm trying to stay focused.
"His name is Alpha and it's okay he's a friend." he said as he hedl onto her.
"A friend? Oh how cute." she said breathlessly." Next I supose you're going to tell me that you're a power ranger." she said with a weak smile.
"Well, now that you bring it up... I am." he said
"And so are we." Ashley said as she and the others came up to her
"Then she was right. That horrible excuse for a fashion desaster was right." she said as she fainted.
"Cora!" Zhane said as he caught her before she hit the ground.
When she woke up again. Alpah asked her what the liquid tasted like and she told him.
"It tasted like some sort of bad food or something. Why?" she asked as she slowly got off the table
"Oh no." he said
"Alpha what is it?" Ashley asked
"Astronema gave her a posion called " Eternal Rest" he said
"A posion?" Cora whispered.
"How can we cure it?" Zhane asked
"WE can't, but I think I might know who can." he said as he went to the keyboard after sometime a female face showed up on the viewing globe
"Yes Alpha what is it?" the girl asked as the transmision faded in and out.
"Kayla I need you to transport a young girl to your time. She's been posioned with the " Eternal Rest" posion. Can you help her?" he asked
"Yes, but only if she comes here. Alpha i can get her here, but I don't know if I can ever get her back." she said
"I understand." he said
"I'm sending you a transporter. When you put it on make sure it's secure or else you'll be lost in between your time and mine forever." she said as she faded out.
"Between my time and hers?" Cora asked
"Yes, she's from the year 2025." he said as the transporter arrived
"I can't go there." Cora said." I don't even feel sick so maybe it didn't work." she said holding Zhane's hand tightly
"You don't have a choice. You will start to feel the effects of the posion in no time and by then it'll be to late." he said
"How do you even know this girl?" she asked
"Alpha 5 got a hold of her a very long time ago by accident. She's got a cure for the posion, but she can't send here because Astronema could get a hold of it. Cora the choice is yours, but you must make it fast." he said
"I don't want to loose you Zhane, but if you say I should go I will. You just have to tell me to go." she said looking into his eyes.
"I don't want to loose you either, but for the sake of your life you have to go. Maybe you'll be able to come back and then you can tell me all about what the future looks like." he said as he softly kissed her forehead.
"I'll never forget you Zhane."She said softly
"Nor I you." he said
"I love you Ash. I'll come back I promise. As soon as I can."She said as they hugged
"You'd better."Ashley said
"Andros you take care of my best firend for me please." she said as she hugged Andros.
"I promise i will." he said as he hugged her tightly
She hugged the other bye as she put on the transporter and left.
