Chapter Five
It had been weeks since Catrina had saw REmy. Magneto forced her to fight everyday until he thought she would be strong enough to go up against Wolverine. She didn't want to fight, but hse knew she had no other choice. She couldn't loose Remy not after what they had shared not ever. She loved him to much.
"Enough. Catrina you have to concentrate." Magneto said
"I don't want to fight you know this." she protested.
"Then you'll loose your new found friend." he said
"How could you do this to me. You're my father and a father is someone who is suppose to love his childern and protect them from harm not push them in harms way." she said softly.
"Fine you odn't want to fight then you don't have to. Sabortooth will find your friend and destory him." he said
"I hate you." she said as she ran from the room and to her car. She spun out of the drive way.
"Do you think it's wise to let her go?" Sabortooth asked as he came up to Magneto.
"Of course. She'll go to her X-Men tell them what I'm up to and then they'll come find me." he said
"Then I'll be able to kill Wolverine once and for all." Sabortooth said
"No you leave that to Catrina. She'll fight him if only to save her beloved X-Man's life."he said
Catrina drove down the street. she wasn't even sure where she was going or when she'd be back. If she went back. She had to tell the X-Men what Magneto was up to. She had to warn them before anyone got hurt. Most of all she had to Tell Remy. She pulled into the Mansion's driveway and walked up to the door. She rasied her hand and knocked on the door.
"Well hello there you must be cat?" a blond haired man said as he answered the door.
"Um,Yes I am is Remy in?" she asked softly
"Ah you're here to see him I should've known." he said as he let her in.
"How did you know who I was?" she asked as she walked in.
"Remy and Logan have been talking about you latly." he said
"Who's Logan?" she asked
"Cherie it's been too long since I saw y' no." Remy said as he came down the stairs.
"Remy it's so good to see you again." she said as she rushed to his arms." I need to talk to you it's important." she whispered in his ear.
"Alright then we TALK." he said as they walked up to his room.
"Yeah so that's what they call it now a days." Bobby said as Wolverine and Beast came in the room.
"Who calls what, what now a days?" he asked
"Oh nothing just Gambit and his new girl." he said as he went into the sitting room.
"She's back here?" he asked
"Yeah she just went up stairs with Gambit to 'talk'." he said as he sat on the couch
"You let her go upstairs with him! he half growled and whispered.
"Man relax. Geez you act like she's your daughter or something." Bobby said as he used he powers to turn himself to ice so that Wolverine would let him go.
"She maybe." he said as he went upstairs.
Once they were in Gambit's room Gambit shut and locked the door behind them. Catrina was sitting on the foot of his bed as he walked toward her.
"Okay Cherie so what id it dat y' wanna talk about or do y' not wanna talk at all?" he said as he knelt in front of her.
"Remy we have to talk. My F-Magneto is planning to use me to destory a guy they call Wolverine. He's an X-Man is he not?" she asked asRemy sat beside her.
"Yes Cherie he is. He also goes by the name Logan." he said
"Wait that's the name of the guy you've been talk about me too. Does he know about me?" she asked
"Yes he knows about your powers and that you saved my life.Why is Magneto useing you against him? Why not use you against me?" he asked
"I'm not sure. He's up to something and I'm afriad it maybe my fault somehow." she said
"Why is dat Cherie?" he asked
"Because of my relationship with you. I have no choice, but to fight Wolverine,Logan. If I don't Sabortooth will kill you instead." she said
"Cherie don you worry none about me I'll be okay. You don need to go back dere. Y' stay here wit me okay cherie?" he said as he pulled her to him in a comforting hug.
Suddenly there was this growle from the doorway as the came crashin in and Catrina wasn't sure who or what it was, but something came pounding toward Remy and knocked him off the bed onto the floor. She looked over and realized it was the man that had helped her save him. She grabbed the only thing she could find that was a lamp and banged him over the head with it.
"Leave him alone." she said when he didn't get off of him.
"You stay out of this." he growled as he hit Remy again.
"Logan stop it." A woman's voice from the door said as suddenly he was lifted into the air away from Remy.
Catrina ran to Remy's side and helped him up onto the bed." My gosh are you okay?" she asked him
"Yeah Cherie nothing like a fatherly beating to remind a man of his place." he mutter softly
"What?" she asked
"What did you think you were doing attacking Gambit like that you could've hurt that girl over there." Scott said as he and the rest of the X-Men came into the room.
"She's my daughter." he said softly
Catrina tunred around to face him at that moment and the whole room went silent.
"What did you say?" she asked
"I said you are my daughter." he repeated
"No I'm not. Magneto's my father." she said
"No he's not. Sarah your mother had no choice, but to leave on his door steps. I know because she came to me a few months ago and told me. I tried to find you, but I couldn't. That night in the parking lot when Sabortooth attacked Gambit and you I only helped you because you looked like Sarah, but then I saw you up close. It wasn't until we got home and you explained your powers that I was for sure." he said
"No you're lying." she spat out at him.
"No darling I"m not." he said
"My father and mother are dead and you're a crule person to try and make me belive otherwise. Magneto wouldn ever lie to me." she said as she ran from the room and back to her car.
"Give her time she'll come around." Gambit said as he got off the bed and walked toward Logan.
"In the meantime Gumbo you stay away from her. She's my daughter and I don't want you to hurt her." he said
"Wloverine Gambit maybe your only connection to her." Jean said
"She's right. She trustes Gambit so to let him see her will be better, but if you continue to attack him it's only gonna make her afraid of you and it might piss her off." Scott said
"Fine then, but you don't bring her up to your room got that Gumbo?" he said
"Yes, Wloverine I've got dat, but you get dis I love her no matter who daughter she maybe and right now she be hurting real bad so I'm going to go to her and see if i can comfort her." Gambit said as he walked out.
Wloverine just starred at him. Right now he couldn't go to Catrina because she didn't need to get more upset and Gambit was the only one she trsuted enough to talk to. He shook his head as he realized he may never be able to get back the relationship he never had with his daughter. He walked out of the room.
"I'm going to go to him. He needs me." Jean said to Scott as she walked out without giving him time to answer her.
