A Kings Family
"Hello. Oh I'm sorry I didn't mean to interrupt." a soft warm voice said just as Aurther and knights finished their opening prayer.
"Oh Elizabeth it's quite alright. It's been a long time since I last saw you. You've grown into a beautiful young woman." Aurther said softly as he hugged her warmly.
"And you are an excellent king. My, my my who do we have here? Well if it isn't Lancalot." she beamed with a bright smile.
"Liz it's been years since i last you and the kings right. You have grown into a beautiful woman." Lancalot said softly
"Yes i have. Now aren't you sorry you didn't court me when we knew each other?" she said as the room burst into laughter.
"Yes. I"m kicking myself very hard now." he said.
"WEll, don't kick yourself to hard...I wouldn't want you to hurt yourself." she said as she stepped closer to him. He ahdn't chanmged in all these years. He still could make her laugh.
"I'll try not to hurt myself to much." he said giving her a warm tender hug.
They sat down and talked about things that had happened in each of their lives as Aurther watched them closely. He noticed that they seemed closer than friends. He sinced that there was a little more there than meets the eye. He also figured that niether of them would admitt it either.
"Uncle Aurther did you hear me?" Elizabeth asked.
"Yes I did. You will stay in your old room. It's just like you left it last year." he said.
"Oh then I'll have to change it around." she said with a smile a disappeared from the room.
"Lancalot what are your intentions toward my niece?" he asked
"She's really sweet and she once one of my bestfriends. I have no intention toward her." he said
"Then perhaps you should start looking at her as a woman rather than a friend because she's crazy about you incase you havn't noticed." he said
"Sire I don't quite understand." he said
"I've known my niece since before she was born and I've seen the way she's looked at guys before. She has never looked at her'Friends' the way she looks at you." he said
"Well thank you sire for you approvale." he said with a smile
They had their meeting for the day and then were dismissed. Lancalot found Elizabeth by a small brook. She was sitting there with a white dress that had little red roses splattered on it. She sat there staying into the water. when he touched her shoulder she looked up at him.
" Hey." she said warmly.
"Well Princess. It's been quite sometime since I"ve seen you." he said
"Yes it has. You've changed a lot." she said
"So have you." he said as he sat beside her.
"I had too." she said
"How's your father?" he asked.
"He's ill. He could die." she said saddly.
"I'm sorry." he said
"Don't be it's not your fault." she said" It's just something that happens." she concluded.
They sat there in silence for a long time until Elizabeth turned toward him and kissed him softly on the lips.
"What was that for?" he asked when she pulled back from him.
"No reason. It just felt right." she said
"Then warn me next time so that I can be perpared." he said as he leaned toward her and kissed her softly.
