Encounter

My heart
Torn in two
Feeling so lost
Not knowing what to do

My brother dead
My village destroyed
How could a 'victory'
Create such a void?

My innocence gone
Having done my first kill
Done intentionally
According to my will

My childhood is lost
The brightness gone from my eyes
As reality sets in
With its grim surprise

My village hates me
It's me my mother blames
Now I have no one
For me nothing remains

I blankly stare
At my brother's grave
He who was too young
And ultimately too brave

Pain I do feel
But I don't shed a tear
For I am a warrior now
And sadness equals fear

As I remain quiet
Silently standing there
I begin to feel something
And suddenly become aware

Someone is watching
I look, but no one is to be seen
The sensation evil yet erotic
I sigh as if in a dream

Eventually I call out
And someone does appear
Making his way to me
Drawing ever near

I catch my breath
My heart begins to race
I feel my growing attraction
Looking at your beautiful face

I hear you call my name
How did you know?
It was as if I'd known you
And you've watched me grow

You seemed to be a part of me
Knowing exactly what I feel
Feelings I hate to recognize
Much less reveal

You reach out your hand
Gently, to touch my face
And in turn I fall
Into your gentle embrace

And I feel comforted somehow
Just knowing you're there
Yet I don't even know you
You confuse me with your care

Your eyes meet mine
Fire meets fire
You ARE made for me
Desire meets desire

Then you ask me
A question...one so plain
Yet so very complex
But no doubts remain

Nothing is left
My brother dead
My village destroyed
In submission I bow my head

With that simple consent
I walk out the door
A new life...new love
I'm not confused anymore
