WHO THE HELL IS TAPROOT?
Well...let's see. Most importantly, Taproot is a band. They are from Ann Arbor, MI. They are: steve (voice), mike (guitar), phil (bass), jrod (drums), and the nameless (and under appreciated) drum machine. They make beautiful music, and they are nice people too. They have gone through lineup changes (steve was actually the drummer once upon a time) as well as other dramas (they were nearly "black-balled and probably erased" by a man who shall remain nameless). Despite their numerous adventures and traumas, taproot has survived and thrived. The rest of this section will be a musical history, documenting taproot releases up until the present.

NOTES: This one was extremely limited...and it didn't sound very good either. Jrod was the maker of these tapes (I believe).

NOTES: This self-released cd (and tape) was put out in 1998. Sales, via the internet and taproot shows, reached over 2000. The beautiful photo on the cover was taken by yours truely (at their second show...I think).

NOTES: This EP was also released (independently) in 1998. There were three new songs, as well as the two newest songs from "something..."

NOTES: Taproot released this EP in 1999. The release was comprised of three newly recorded songs, as well as the songs that were featured on "mentobe."

sampler
NOTES: The sampler was released at the same time as "upon us." Since a lot of fans already had "mentobe," taproot wanted to provide a way of purchasing the three new songs, without having to repurchase the old ones. There were two different covers, a red one and a blue one.
