Disclaimer: I don't own Katie Homes or Josh Jackson, but oh I wish I did. And I realize that their personal lives are their own, but I just couldn't resist. Also I own nothing Dawson's Creek, but I adore the show.

Notes: This is a Katie/Josh story and it's going to be short and sweet.

Josh watched her enter the room, she smiled a greeting at him and took a seat at the long conference table and began talking to James. Josh sighed and looked down at his hands. Her silky brown hair was pulled up in a ponytail with a few loose strands framing her angelic face. Her eyes danced in merriment at something James said.

They were going to go over the latest script with the writers and producers. They hadn't told them what was going to happen yet. A few minutes later, everyone had congregated around the table and Paul Stubin, the producer gave them the summery.

"Okay, everyone. This episode has Jen experiencing a pregnancy scare, Bodie returns, Dawson confronts Jen about her erratic behavior. Jack gets injured in the football game, and Joey and Pacey confront their growing attraction to each other. Any questions? We're gonna try and get through the script at least twice tonight, we start filming next Tuesday."

The scripts were passed out. And once they reached the scene where Pacey and Joey would kiss, Josh snuck a look at Katie to see how she was taking the news. They had known that this was coming, but now that it was finally here he wondered she would handle it. She looked calm and unfazed, like she didn't have a worry. He hoped he appeared the same way, but inside he was a wreck.

Ever since their short lived romance two years earlier, Josh had kept a torch burning for his beautiful co-star. They hadn't mentioned it since, but he knew the reason they had broken if off was because of the paparazzi. They had tried to keep their relationship a secret, but it had gotten out and she couldn't handle her personal life being out on display.

She had wanted to break up, and what choice did he have? If she didn't want to stay with him, he couldn't force her. But the chemistry that had existed between them hadn't decreased over time, it only increased. He was thankful that they hadn't had many one on one scenes together after the first season. But this season they were being forced to deal with all the left over emotions from their short, but very intense relationship.

They went over the script once again, Josh pushed his thoughts of the impending kiss out of his mind to focus on his work. They spent the next few hours going over the script, taking notes, snacking, goofing off and working.

It was the rehearsal day of the kiss. "Katie!" Josh yelled from as he exited the make-up trailer. He ran to where she stood waiting for him. He caught up to her and was slightly out of breath. "Are you going to be okay with this?" he asked concerned.

"With what? Oh, the kiss? Yeah it's fine. It's not like we haven't kissed before."

"It's a little different, we were dating then."

"Josh, it's fine, it was a long time ago, and we're professionals. It won't be a problem." She reassured him.

"Okay, just wanted to make sure."

"Okay, I'm going to go catch up with Michelle before our scene, see you in an hour."

"Right," He nodded as she walked away. He stood there defeated and watched her disappear into the building.

"Either give it up or go after her," A voice behind him spoke.

Josh turned around, "Hey Kerr," he greeted his friend, "what're you talking about?"

"Don't try and play dumb. I see how you look at her. But do something about it, don't keeping mooning after her, you'll only make yourself miserable. Go after her."

"She doesn't want me Kerr," he said in a saddened tone, "you know we dated for a few months and she dumped me. It ended for her then and there. But I can't just turn off my feelings." Kerr silently urged him on, "Oh, and believe me, I've tried. But the girl, she wove a spell over me that I can't seem to break."

"Kerr, Diana, Meredith, and Lauren on set." An announcement came over the loud speakers.

"Then make a move, you can't feel any worse than you do now right? I gotta go, later Josh,"

"Yeah, bye."

Katie made her way to the studio, to the classroom set where Michelle and James had been rehearsing a scene. She waited until they were finished and pulled Michelle aside. "Okay, what do I do?" She sounded slightly panicked.

"You still have feelings for him, right?" Michelle asked instinctively knowing what her friends problem was.

"Yeah, you know that already." Katie said impatient.

"So, you act out those feelings, Joey is supposed to like Pacey and in reality, you do like Josh. He won't know the difference between what's you and what's Joey."

"I'm not worried about him, I'm worried about me. I don't know if I can kiss him once and not want more."

"I don't know what to tell you, Katie. I still don't understand why you dumped him in the first place. Why don't you talk to him about getting back together?"

"Because it was two years ago! He couldn't possibly feel the same about me after two years. He would have said something, besides, why do I deserve another chance? He deserves better than someone who will dump him because they couldn't handle having a relationship that was under public scrutiny."

"You should let him decide what he deserves," Michelle said wisely, "it's his life too."

Katie and Josh were rehearsing their scene, neither of them had to do much acting to make their nervousness seem real. The scene took place on Joey's dock as the sun was setting. Pacey was confronting Joey about their growing relationship.

"Why do you think there's always been so much tension between us? Why we're always at each other's throats? I know it isn't because we hate each other, it's something more than that. Something I'm just now beginning to understand." Josh said his lines, letting true shine from behind the words.

"I don't know Pacey, it was just always there. You set something off in me. When I'm around you, every emotion I feel is magnified. But I wouldn't call it love. I don't know what it is, but I know I never hated you." She said sincerely.

"Then explain why we act the way we do? Why every conversation between us starts with an insult."

"I can't Pacey, I don't know the reason."

"Joey, you can't deny that there's something between us, an attraction, there always has been. We've always had strong emotions between us and we've never questioned why. We always just chose to ignore it."

"Until now. I don't want to ignore it anymore." They slowly moved closer together, the kiss was scripted to be slow and tender. And short. But as Josh and Katie's lips met they forgot they were acting and gave in to the flood of emotions they experienced. The kiss became heated and passionate. They completely blocked out reality. They were the only two people in the world.

Michelle, James, Meredith, Kerr and a good number of other cast and crew had come to witness the big scene between Josh and Katie. Michelle and James were grinning wildly as they witnessed their friends coming together. After a few minutes of kissing the crowd began clapping, whistling and giving cat calls.

Eventually the noise broke into Josh and Katie's consciousness. They broke apart blushing, Josh scratched the top of his head smiling goofily. Katie tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear and smiled self-consciously. She snuck a glance at Josh.

"So . . ."

"Yeah, so . . ." Neither knew what to say.

"Katie, I..." Josh remembered Kerr's words from a few hours ago and knew he had to try. "I... I love you." He said not caring that they were surrounded by twenty other people.

Katie looked at him, searching his eyes, needing to know that he was sincere. Reassured by the magnitude of pure love she saw reflected there. She grinned and threw herself into his arms, wrapping him tightly in a hug. "I love you, too, Josh." And again everyone cheered as they kissed once more, this one searingly sweet and full of promise.

Feedback please, I don't want to beg, but I will if it comes to that. I just love corny, happy endings. The idea for this came at like 3 am one night and thought it would be so romantic. I saw a page dedicated for P/J and Josh/Katie stories and it didn't have any J/K stories yet, so I figured, why not. Write me and tell me what you think. Email: Rinnypj@chickmail.com
