Mid-life Crisis

BYLINE: Katherine Forestier -- It's time to start afresh, with a new look for classic movies, a new line-up on Pearl and a new life for Rick and Lily.

The popular American series that strikes a chord with many a family life has arrived in Hong Kong. Once And Again (Pearl, 9.30pm) plunges viewers into the heart of a typical mid-life crisis. Ricky and Lily are both recently divorced and cut-up. They meet at their children's high school and guess what, very quickly their children will catch them entwined on the couch.

The relationship, of course, has its complications, not with the two vulnerable, beautiful people concerned, played by Sisters' Sela Ward and rugby playing hunk Billy Campbell, but everyone else around them. Bitchy married women, the couple's ex-spouses and of course their children all have their reservations about the new liaison.

Thirtysomething auteurs Marshall Herskovitz and Ed Zwick (who produced Shakespeare In Love) are behind this relationship drama. They've also recruited Thirtysomething composer W.G. Snuffy Walden to create the show's theme music.
