Gregory Ortega

GREGORY ORTEGA, who has studied music at Hunter college, the American Institute at Fontainbleau and the Juilliard School, has conducted for most of the small major opera houses in New York City and Boston, including the Bel Canto Opera, for which he conducted two U.S. premiers: Rossini's La Pietra del Paragone and
Glinka's A Life for the Tsar. Most recently he has conducted numerous productions for Regina Opera, Long Island Lyric Opera, Korean-American Opera, Brooklyn Lyric Opera and New York Lyric Opera in its new home at the Purchase Performing Arts Center.He also conducted a Gala Concert for the New Jersey Verismo Opera featuring Metropolitan Opera artists, and has been guest conductor of the Purchasae College Choirs. New Rochelle Opera is proud to have had maestro Ortega conduct many of our productions.
