Martin Milner and Kent McCord: When Being Clean Cut Isn't Square

Some children are said to be born with a silver spoon in their mouths; Marty Milner might be said to have been born with a spool of film in his! The son of a film distributor and a dancer mother, Marty went the Hollywood High route, living in the midst of the exciting stimulation of Hollywood, always wanting to be an actor. He made his film debut in 1947, but was tragically struck with polio shortly after. Although some thought his career was over, Marty fought with every inch of strength in his 6'1" body, and just a year later was fully recovered. Marty's been wed since 1957, has four children; Andrew, 8, Stuart, 10, Molly, 11, and Amy, 13. Marty's hobby is carpentry.

Everybody thought that Kent McCord was slated to become a big time football player, but it didn't quite turn out that way. Kent's acting career began when he was selected (in 1961) to play on a showbusiness football team headed by Rick Nelson. Kent and Rick subsequently became very friendly, and Kent was invited to portray one of Rick's fraternity brothers in 45 of the Ozzie and Harriett episodes. Kent still loved football, though, and returned to college on a football scholarship. He played for several more years before deciding on a full-time acting career. Kent is married to his childhood sweetheart, Cynthia and has two children. Jack Webb cast him as the Adam-12 police officer, saying, "You put Kent in any real police group, and you'd never spot him as an actor."
