- Blogroll Me!
News (as of 28/02/02)

Only 8 days since I last updated, I think that I'm getting better at these updates - hopefully more people might start looking at my page if I update it more frequently. Because at the moment it's basically me and Nats who check out this page and no-one else which is sad.

Anyway, enough bullshit, I should tell you all what's been going on in my life in the last week. Firstly I feel better about my money stresses as I am squeezing some money out of McDonald's that they owe me. Because it's McDonald's, getting any money is like getting blood out of a stone - but hopefully I'm going to get somewhere soon enough for it to make a good difference for my fees.

Lots of things are changing next week in my life, after nearly four months of holidays I'm going back to university which is good in some ways because I kind of miss it and I am keen to get my degree finished, and hopefully it's going to be really interesting this year. On the other hand I've become rather used to this working fulltime thing, and it's going to be a rather drastic change going back to university and having essays and assignments to worry about. I'm also shifting from Pt. Chev McDonald's to the Queen St. store which is going to be a big change because I have become quite used to working at Pt. Chev and I get along with the people there pretty well.

We've also bought Windows 2000 although it's only the upgrade version because if we were to buy the full version it would be like $600, luckily I have the Windows 98 CD so it works. But unfortunately my computer is a pain in the ass and didn't reformat properly when we reinstalled 98, so now we have bugs in Windows 2000 and we're going to have to do the whole install of both operating systems again - which takes AGES! Grrrrrrrrrrrrr.............

My other piece of news for the last couple of weeks is that I got my tongue pierced, yeah I know it sounds like a rather unlike me thing to do - but anyway!!! It felt really strange at first but I am beginning to get used to it, and I also had the 18mm bar replaced with a 16mm bar, which is only 2 mm shorter but actually makes quite a difference. I am going to get plastic balls to put on each end so that I don't destroy my teeth with the metal ball (which would lead to my mother killing me!) but as I don't have ANY money at the moment that will have to wait for a little while.

News (as of 20/02/02)

It's been almost a month since my last entry - but I hope that everyone is starting to get used to the infreiquent entries. Anyway, what's been going on in my life in the last month. Not that much different from before, university is starting to loom in the not-so-distant future, although I have finished all my enrollment and stuff like that which is one less stress to worry about. Work is going OK, I'm finally managing to save some money (through not really doing that much), which is a good start as I won't be as up to my eyeballs in debt as I thought I might be. I'm going to be transferring to the Queen St. McDonald's (if everything goes through) so that I can be closer to university and not have to spend quite so much money on travel all the time. It also means that I'll be able to finish university and start work pretty much straight away.

Should this transfer go through I will be working at my third McDonald's in the last three months. I hope that the people there are going to be as nice and friendly as our crew at Pt. Chev. It is very important to work with people you get along with, and to be able to have conversations with your work-mates when it's not that busy or when you're on a break. At St. Lukes I always thought that the people were pretty friendly - but there was an obvious hierarchy and people would tell other people what to do often. At Pt. Chev because it was a totally new store, everyone came in under the same situation and everyone was new - there were no hierarchies there were no people who thought they owned the place and everyone was pretty willing to get along with others. It worked really well and I am glad that I did have the chance to work at the new store. I met some really cool people, especially Peter and Satish who are/were a pleasure to work with and I hope that good things happen to these two awesome and friendly guys.

I suspect that once university starts I will be adding to my news page a bit more frequently, as at the moment it seems like the times I do write something in this page is when I am passing through university and have a spare 10 minutes to say something as well as checking my e-mails.
