1. One word. Chemistry. Pacey and Joey are the kind of couple that makes you care about them and what happens to their relationship. They have a certain chemistry that Dawson and Joey never had. (i.e.:The dance scene in 'Anti-Prom') When I watch them onscreen, it literally gives me goosebumps. I cry when they fight. I smile when they kiss. Whole nine yards lol
2.When Dawson and Joey were together, I had no emotion for them at all and their relationship dragged out for so long and had so many problems, that after a few weeks it got boring. Joey and Pacey's relationship is exciting and forbidden and thats what makes it entertaining. And face it, after last season this show needs alittle excitement :)
3.During Season 3, Pacey has been there for Joey a numerous of times, while Dawson was with Eve or Nikki, or too busy thinking about himself. Even when Dawson himself turned Joey down.. Who comforted her? Pacey. When Joey needed someone to take her to see her dad, who was there? Pacey. Who beat up Matt Caufield when he ruined her mural? Pacey. Who bought her a wall?Pacey. Who helped to get the B&B up and running? Pacey. I cant remember Dawson doing anything for Joey this past season except for reject her. (Until Pacey wants her of course).
4.OK. Admit it. Who doesnt love a classic romance story? Two enemies brought together by love. That makes it even more interesting. The fact is that the two used to despise each other and are suddenly in love. It's cute. Exciting. And It's what keeps many viewers tuned in.
5.Dawson doesnt deserve Joey. He turned her down at the beginning of season 3 and for awhile after that while she questioned their relationship, all he did was try to brush it off and just 'stay friends.' I think Dawson is still too into himself to have a real relationship with anyone, let only Joey who still needs to find herself. How is he going to give her what she's looking for, when he doesnt even know what he himself wants.
6. Opposites Attract. Pacey and Joey could be each other's standing posts. They can hold each other together. They can learn alot from each other. Unlike Dawson and Joey who were the same in almost everyway.. what fun is that?
7. Ok. The soulmates thing. Most D/Jers argue that Dawson and Joey are soulmates and will end up together. What does make a soulmate? Someone you HAVE to be with romantically? No. I do think Dawson and Joey are soulmates but who says it has to turn out romantically?? If I met a boy who turns out to be my soulmate that doesnt necessarily mean I have to marry him or be with him.I could me married and have my best friend be my soulmate. I agree, Joey is Dawson's inspiration, But why cant they just be soulmates who are bestfriends?
8. Ok. Dawson's idea of a date: sitting at home watching movies all night while psycho-analyzing every storyline to death. Pacey's idea of a date: to actually have fun. Joey needs more adventure in life and Pacey can give that to her. How far is Dawson and Joey's relationship really gonna go if all they do is watch movies all of the time and analyze everything before actually doing it?
9. Dawson is jealous. I dont even really think he wants Joey, I just think he's afraid of losing her to Pacey. If he was so much in love with her still, then how come he didnt mind when she was with A.J. And he didnt seem to remember Joey when he was with Eve or secreting admiring Nikki. But, as soon as Pacey and Joey decide to start something, Dawson is all of a sudden against it and suddenly is in love with Joey again? Um no. I mean, I see where Dawson is coming from. Why he would be mad (I'd be pretty mad if my two best friends were sneaking behind my back and dating) But, he had no right to be mad. He and Joey weren't even together for almost a year, and Joey was fair ground. Pacey couldnt control his feelings and he even tried to hide them for Dawson's sake, but look where that got him.
10.Dawson and Joey represent a childhood relationship that survived through thick and thin, and are destined to always be friends, but a part of growing up is growing out of old relationships, and starting new ones. By the time you become Joey's age, you are totally different person than a few years before.
11. Pacey didnt make her choose between his love for her or Dawson's friendship. He knew both was important to her and he knew she'd make her own choice without force. Dawson made her choose between his friendship or Pacey's love. If Dawson truly cared about Joey's friendship, He wouldnt have made her choose,In fear that there was a chance that she might actually choose Pacey. But, he was so sure that she'd pick him. Again.. selfishness.
12.To my recollection, Pacey was interested in Joey before Dawson in the 1st season. Pacey actually liked Joey in a more-than-just-friends longer than Dawson. It wasn't until Pacey said he wanted to kiss Joey that Dawson noticed her. At least then Pacey asked for permission. Good for Pacey for kissing her :)
13. Dawson pushed Pacey and Joey together. Did he actually believe that Pacey would look after Joey for the whole summer and Joey and Pacey not grow feelings for each other? He never once considered that posibility. Again. Selfishness.
14. In Dawson's OWN words: "You want him, you want him like I want you.. You love him like I love you. The only difference is Is that he loves you back the same way." Dawson himself sees that Joey loves Pacey and that Pacey loves Joey. He sees it himself also that he loves Joey and she loves Pacey. Finally, he got a clue.
15. If Dawson was really Pacey and Joey's friend, wouldn't he be happy for them? He would be happy that they're happy.
16. Pacey made Joey feel alive. Something Dawson never did. Enough said
