Short summary: *** this fanfic is a Josh and Katie romance that tells the story of the relationship Joshua Jackson and Katie Holmes behind the scenes of Dawson's Creek.***

"Check out those outfits." Michelle stopped Katie, pointing to the rack of clothes, which were being wheeled into wardrobe. "Those are for the J Crew catalogue shoot we have today." Katie reminded her. "I hope they don't dress me up in just short minis." The blonde squinted hard, trying to see the clothes from far away. "At least you'll get to wear one. I'll probably be stuck with plain jeans." Katie pouted.
Katie pulled at the neck of the brown turtleneck sweater she was wearing. "You're going to stretch it if you keep on doing that." Josh elbowed her teasingly. "Maybe I would stop if the damn thing wasn't giving me a rash." She rolled her eyes, trying to scratch her neck through the thick material. "It'll be over soon." He tried to comfort her. "What is taking him so long?" She grumbled as they watched the photographer set up the cameras. "Forget about him. Let's just have a good time. It's a beautiful day." He gestured to the clear sky. "How come you are so cheerful?" She narrowed her eyes at him with her hands on her hip. "What? A guy can't be cheerful?" He pushed his hands into the pockets of his jacket. "I mean, it's chilly and we haven't had four straight hours of sleep this week." She pointed out. "True, but the season is nearly over. Just imagine all the things we could do with all that extra time." He whispered softly with a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Now you're talking." She jutted her chin out with a huge smile. "I can't promise four straight hours of sleep though." He joked.
"Are you sure that you will be up for it?" She wiggled her eyebrows suggestively. "Hey, I'm always up for that kind of action." He grinned. She blushed slightly at his words and buried her face in his chest. He chuckled and wrapped his jacket around her. "God, you're up for it alright." She whispered softly, feeling his arousal hard against her thigh. "Told ya." He kissed the top of her head.
"Hey look! You've got a skirt too!" Michelle picked up a short black skirt. They were in the wardrobe trailer, changing into their second outfit of the shoot. "Yippee!" Katie rolled her eyes. "Don't you think it's weird though?" "What is?" She scratched her head. "I mean the photographer is just standing there with his camera. He doesn't really tell us what to do." Katie said. "I like that. It's so much easier and more fun too." Michelle reached for the white shirt on the hanger. "It is fun, but it's just weird." The tall girl shrugged. "Just get your skirt on and let's go. They are waiting." Her friend threw her the skirt.
The photographer threw Josh a football and the group of friends stood there dumbfounded. "Just play around a bit." He urged them. "Play around…" James repeated slowly. The four of them looked at each other. "Well, you heard the man." Josh ran backwards with the ball with Shumba nipping at his heels and threw it to James, who caught it with ease. "Just my luck." Katie muttered under her breath. "Aw. It's not that bad. Playing ball in a skirt." Michelle giggled, patting her friend's behind. Katie's mouth grew wide as she chased her friend across the field. "Come back here you pervert!" "Katie!" James shouted.
She whipped around fast enough to see the ball flying her way. She caught the ball and jumped up and down a little. She was never much of a sports person, but she had to admit that this was fun. "Katie! Look out!" Michelle screamed at her. She saw what she was pointing at. Josh was running straight for her.
"Wait!" Katie shouted out at him. He didn't look like he was about to stop so she did the only thing she could think of. She started to run as fast as her long legs could carry her. "Ahhhhhhh!" She shrieked as he came from behind, scooped her in his arms, nestling her butt against him. "Gotcha!" He said breathlessly. "Let me go." She giggled and squirmed. His grip tightened and she could have sworn that she heard him moan. "Stop moving." He groaned as he involuntarily pulled her into him deeper. She gasped as the hard bulge pushed softly against her ass.
"Josh." She held the football tightly against her chest, needing to squeeze something to keep from whimpering. "Not here. Not now." He brushed his lips against her ear and kissed the spot under it, making her shiver. "Right." She said with frustration as he let her go.
Gabriel Cunnings rubbed her eyes as her secretary buzzed her. "Gabby, the publicist of Dawson's Creek is here." "Tell him to come in." She buzzed back. She picked up the heels that she had taken off and put them back on tiredly. The door swung open and a man in his late thirties waltzed in. "Please have a seat." She gestured to the comfortable looking chair. "Thank you." He settled into it then lifted his suitcase, popping it open and pulled out the J Crew catalogue draft that they had sent them.
"I see you got them. Why do I get the feeling that you're not here to tell me that we did a great job?" She reached for the glasses on her desk and perched it on her nose. "You did an incredible job. However, I'm afraid that you're going to have to make some adjustments." He said. "What kind of adjustments?" She brought out her copy of the draft and looked through it briefly. "It's our mistake that we didn't tell you what kind of pictures we wanted you to use." "You don't like the pictures?" She raised an eyebrow. They looked fine to her. "It's not the quality of the pictures. It's the content of the pictures." He pointed to a picture of two teens. The boy was whispering something into her ear and she was blushing. "Am I missing something here?" She said in a confused tone.
"Next season the show will go in a different direction." He flipped the page. This time he pointed to a picture of a blonde boy and the same girl in the previous picture. She was rolling her eyes at him. "This catalogue is full of the other two. We can't have that." "Listen, we've got clothes to sell. Those two have incredible chemistry." She argued. She didn't even know why they wanted the blonde boy with that girl together on the show in the first place. They had no chemistry at all! "Listen, the deal was that we would have a say in this too." He reminded her of their contract. "And I'm telling you that I am not just going to pull out all those pictures."
"We don't want any troubles. Just take those pictures out." He said a little more gently this time. "I can't promise you anything." She replied with a sigh. "How about a compromise? You don't have to take all of them out. Just some of them. We can decide together." He offered. Oh boy, this was going to be one long day, she said to herself.
"No." She shook her head. It has been five hours now and they still couldn't reach an agreement. He sighed with frustration, pulling hard at his loose tie. "Can we at least agree on this picture?" She peered at it over the box of Chinese takeout they had ordered. Pacey was nuzzling Joey's neck. Damn! The photographer was good alright. "I like this one." She said stubbornly. "Dawson and Joey are going to get together next season. We can't have pictures of Pacey feeling Joey up." He said flatly. "He is not feeling her up!" She argued. "Whatever. It's just too intimate." He explained. "I like this one." She repeated. "It's either this one or that one." He drew a circle around another picture.
Pacey had his arms wrapped tightly around Joey from behind as she held on to a football. "You drive a hard bargain." She said. "Well?" "Fine! I'll give you the nuzzling one." She crossed the picture out reluctantly. "These two have to go too." "Pacey kissing Joey's knuckles… Joey sitting on Pacey's lap." "They have to go." He said firmly. "Next time have Pacey and Joey hook up. I guarantee you the viewers will love it and it will make my job much easier too." She advised. "Lady, I don't write the show." He smiled. "Mark my words." She murmured, staring at the picture of the two teens.
