Robin & Patrick #15 September 6, 2011 - Feb 13, 2012: 8 hour original edit

DVD #15A Patrick entered Jason’s hospital room and he ordered Sam to step out of the room, so she reluctantly waited in the hallway while Patrick examined Jason. Patrick quickly concluded that Jason was on the road to recovery. Patrick invited Sam back into the room.

Sam relaxed when Jason revealed that the last thing that he recalled was Sam promising to wait for him. Patrick was confident that Jason would be fine, so Jason wondered when he could leave the hospital. Patrick insisted that he wanted Jason out of the hospital as soon as possible, because Patrick was tired of Jason's bodyguards, and thugs skulking the hallways with murderous intent, but Jason's health was more important.

Sam resented Patrick remarks about the mob, but Patrick insisted that he was just letting Jason know what had been going on while Jason had been unconscious. Jason had no idea what they were talking about, so Patrick informed Jason that Sonny was out of control, and that Anthony had made an attempt on Jason's life. Sam warned Patrick that Jason would try to save Sonny, but Patrick ordered Jason to stay put.

Patrick explained that the surgery had been extremely difficult, so he refused to discharge Jason until Patrick was certain that Jason was strong enough to leave. Sam explained that Jason didn't respond well to orders, so Patrick promised Jason a speedy recovery if Jason followed Patrick's instructions.

Kristina woke up in a hospital room as Patrick called her name. Michael and Alexis hovered nearby. Patrick was curious if Kristina remembered anything, so she told him that she had gone to the warehouse on the waterfront to think. Patrick explained that Kristina had collapsed, so he wondered if there had been any strange symptoms prior to her fainting spell. Kristina shook her head.

Michael returned to Kristina's hospital room. Patrick wondered if Kristina had collapsed before, so Kristina replied, "Not exactly." Alexis was shocked; she immediately demanded that Kristina clarify the remark. Kristina confessed that she had been experiencing "head rush" sensations, which she had attributed to not eating properly. Kristina then revealed that she had also been bumping into things, and having difficulty with her depth perception when she went to reach for various objects.

Michael wondered if the symptoms had anything to do with the drugs that Lisa Niles had given to Kristina. Alexis was stunned because it was the first that she had heard of Lisa giving Kristina pills. Patrick explained that he hadn't been obligated to tell Alexis about the incident because Kristina was an adult. However, Patrick quickly clarified that he doubted that there was a correlation between Kristina's fainting spell and the hydrocodone pills that Lisa had given to Kristina. Kristina was eager to go home, but Patrick insisted that she remain in the hospital until they had run some tests.

At the nurses' station, Patrick informed Anthony that Kristina had cleared Anthony of wrongdoing, so Anthony was free to go. Patrick warned Anthony that if Anthony continued to loiter around the hospital then Patrick wouldn't hesitate to call security to remove Anthony from the premises. Anthony resented Patrick's attitude, so Anthony placed a call to one of his goons to instruct the man to pay a doctor a visit.

9/7 Patrick entered the room to inform the family that he had the results of Kristina's tests. Alexis wanted to discuss them privately with Patrick in the hallway, but Patrick explained that he was obligated to review the results with Kristina because she was of age. Kristina immediately realized that the news was grim because of the expression on Patrick's face.

Patrick revealed that the tests had indicated that a bone fragment had impinged on Kristina's vertebral artery, which had been interrupting the blood flow to the brain. According to Patrick, that was the reason that Kristina had been experiencing dizzy spells, and chronic neck pain.

Kristina was curious how it had happened, so Patrick suggested that an old sports injury might have caused the problem. Kristina revealed that she hadn't played sports. Sam wondered how it could be fixed, so Patrick recommended surgery.

He informed them that they would go through the back of Kristina's neck to remove the fragment; however, he warned that there was a risk of paralysis. Alexis wanted to discuss it with Sonny, but Kristina made it clear that her father didn't get a say. Kristina insisted that she didn't even want Sonny there. Patrick decided to give the family some time to discuss Kristina's options, so he excused himself.

9/9 At the hospital, Matt asked Robin to give Patrick a break and warned that Patrick had performed too many surgeries that day. Patrick announced that he was ready to begin Kristina's procedure, but Robin wavered. Sean beseeched Patrick not to perform Kristina's operation until he'd gotten some rest. Robin witnessed Patrick drop a file, which concerned her.

Sonny approached Patrick about the procedure, but Patrick told Sonny not to interfere. Sonny began to argue, but Robin stopped him cold. Later, Robin broke the news to Patrick that she'd taken him off the roster. Sean would perform Kristina's surgery, she explained. Patrick stormed out of the hospital.

In Kristina's room, after Kristina had been taken to the OR, Robin shared what she could with Alexis and Sam about the likely outcome of the surgery. Robin expressed confidence that the procedure would go well. Molly pointed out that Kristina was a lot calmer than Alexis was.

9/13 Robin entered the hospital's locker room, where Patrick was changing because he didn't see the point of wearing scrubs. Robin realized that her decision to let Matt operate on Kristina had seemed sudden, but she assured Patrick that she had given it thought. Maxie entered the locker room before Patrick could reply.

Maxie immediately sensed the tension in the air, so she asked if she had interrupted them. "Never mind," Maxie said when she noticed their solemn expressions. Maxie explained that she needed to search Matt's pockets for Sam's missing engagement ring, so she asked where Matt's locker was. Robin pointed it out, so Maxie began to riffle through Matt's things.

After several minutes, it was clear to Robin and Patrick that Maxie's search hadn't yielded anything, so they tried to shoo her out of the locker room. Maxie was curious if Patrick or Robin knew what Matt had been so secretive about recently, and what he had been eager to celebrate with her. Patrick suggested that perhaps Matt had wanted to tell Maxie that about a surgical assignment that Matt had been given.

Robin glanced at Patrick with an expression of exasperation, and then advised Maxie to focus on Matt instead of worrying about everyone else's relationships. Maxie explained that Jason and Sam needed her help because their wedding was on September 23rd, and Sam was hopeless about wedding plans. Patrick suggested that Sam was more concerned about Jason's recovery than planning her nuptials.

Maxie claimed that it wasn't her fault that Sam's engagement ring had been lost, or that Spinelli was not Spinelli, but then changed her mind by conceding that Spinelli would not have been shot if Maxie had been a good hostage by keeping her mouth shut. Robin insisted that no one blamed Maxie for Lisa's insanity.

Maxie appreciated Robin's support; however, Maxie realized that she was to blame for the missing engagement ring, so it was imperative that Maxie find it. Patrick noticed that Maxie was sifting through Matt's wallet, so he told her that he doubted that the ring was there. Maxie explained that she had hoped to find a clue as to what Matt had wanted to tell her. Maxie's efforts were in vain, so she put everything away, closed the locker, and then left.

Robin and Patrick resumed their discussion about Kristina's surgery, and Robin's decision to allow Matt to operate. Robin explained that she had been concerned because Patrick had just completed an eight-hour surgery, so it had been clear to her that he had been exhausted.

Patrick surprised Robin by agreeing that she had made the right call because he had no business operating on Kristina when he was so tired. Robin wondered why Patrick hadn't wanted to talk to her about it, so Patrick admitted that he had wanted to "outperform" for her because she was his boss. "Competitive much?" Robin asked with a smile.

Patrick reminded Robin of her own competitive nature, which had led her to claim that she had been on the Olympic ping pong team when they had first met. Patrick smiled as he recalled that Robin had thrown the paddle at him after he had won a game. Robin assured Patrick that she had let him win, and then changed the subject by suggesting that Patrick seemed to need a massage, and a shower to ease his tension. Patrick agreed, so they walked to the shower together.

Afterwards, they got dressed as Robin wondered if they would always be like they were at that moment. "Yes," Patrick answered without hesitation. Patrick admitted that he was more attracted to her than the day that he had married her, so he was confident that things would keep getting better between them.

Robin confessed that she was happy that they were back on track because it felt like they were doing what they should. Patrick assured Robin that he was determined to protect what they had, so Robin kissed him. After the kiss ended, Patrick promised to cook dinner for Robin when they got home. Patrick wandered over to the break room table, while Robin finished touching up her makeup. Moments later, she smiled when she saw Patrick sound asleep at the table.

9/15 Patrick approached Matt and asked for an update on Kristina. Matt was curious if Patrick were asking as a colleague or a brother who always second-guessed everything that Matt did. Patrick explained that he was concerned because Kristina had originally been Patrick's patient.

Patrick was surprised when Matt revealed that Kristina's C-7 vertebrae had been fractured. Patrick demanded to know how Matt had handled the tricky surgery, since the injury had occurred a year earlier, which meant that Kristina had likely sustained it when she had been thrown during the explosion of Johnny's car.

Matt revealed that he had performed an oblique facet wiring technique. Patrick realized that it meant that there would be swelling, so they wouldn't know if there might be lasting damage to the spinal cord until the swelling had gone down. Matt resented Patrick's tone, so he told Patrick that he would pretend that he hadn't heard the small note of hope in Patrick's voice that Matt's patient was paralyzed.

Matt entered Kristina’s room and to update her on her surgery. Kristina was curious where Patrick was. Matt explained that Patrick had been pulled off of the case because Patrick had completed an eight-hour surgery, so he hadn't been able to operate on Kristina. Kristina didn't want to wait for Alexis to arrive, so she asked Matt to tell her what he had done, and how soon she would recover.

Matt started to tell her, but stopped when Patrick joined them. Matt resented Patrick's interference, but Patrick refused to leave. Kristina didn't object, so Matt decided to perform some tests to determine where they were in the recovery process. "You mean if the surgery worked or not," Kristina clarified. Matt nodded and then pulled back the covers from Kristina's feet.

Matt asked Kristina to turn her head away, so that she wouldn't know which foot he tested. After Kristina looked away, Matt ran a pen along the bottom of Kristina's left foot. Kristina felt it, so Matt moved to the right foot. Matt and Patrick exchanged a look of concern when Kristina didn't feel it. Kristina realized that something was wrong, so she demanded to know why she hadn't felt anything.

Patrick stopped Anthony when he saw Anthony near the nurses' station. "I want you out of my hospital," Patrick ordered Anthony. Anthony snidely questioned Patrick's authority to turn patients away, and then threatened to contact Angela Dwyer about filing a malpractice suit. Patrick reluctantly agreed to put Anthony on the waiting list, and then instructed Anthony to have a seat in the waiting area until a doctor could check Anthony's hand. After Patrick stormed off, Anthony made a call, and then insisted, "I need to see the doctor today."

9/19 Carly cornered Patrick and demanded to know why Jason was not in his room. Patrick told Carly that Jason was having tests. Carly demanded to know if Jason was recovered enough to attend a wedding. She worried that Sam was pushing Jason to do something that he was not physically ready for. Patrick said that he could not give Jason's medical information to Carly. Patrick asked Carly if she was aware of how possessive she was being. Carly confessed her fears that Jason would wake up different and she would lose her friend.

Carly asked if Patrick knew what it was like to have a friend like Jason. Patrick said that Robin was such a friend. Carly wanted to know what Patrick would do if Robin woke up one day and did not want to be with him anymore. Patrick told Carly that although it would hurt, he would let Robin go because that was what Robin wanted, and giving the person one cared about what that person wanted was the test of true love.

9/20 At the hospital, Sonny was furious as he confronted Matt about Kristina's inability to walk. Patrick quickly intervened by ordering Sonny to back off. Sonny accused Matt of screwing up the surgery, but Patrick defended his brother. Matt decided to check on Kristina, so Sonny started to follow, but Patrick blocked Sonny's way. Patrick accused Sonny of being out of control. Sonny suggested that Patrick was only interested in doing damage control for his brother because Matt had had no business operating on Kristina.

According to Sonny, Matt had been in over his head, but Patrick disagreed. Sonny wondered if Patrick would have let Matt operate on Emma. Patrick explained that neurosurgery was a little more difficult than breaking kneecaps to shake down people. Sonny decided to ignore the remark because he wanted to see Kristina. "Don't you think you've done enough damage to Kristina already, Sonny?" Patrick wondered.

Sonny glared at Patrick as Patrick told Sonny that Kristina needed a parent, not an out-of-control thug who made things worse. Sonny wondered how much worse things could get for his daughter, who had been left crippled. Patrick insisted that Matt had fixed the damage that Sonny had caused, but Sonny refused to take responsibility for Kristina's injury.

Later, Sonny approached Matt to apologize to the young doctor about his earlier outburst. Sonny realized that he had been blaming the wrong person for Kristina's situation. Matt accepted the apology, and then walked away.

9/22 At the hospital, Patrick was annoyed when Robin explained that she had cleared his schedule, so that they could attend Jason and Sam's wedding together. Patrick wasn't eager to see Sonny, but Robin warned Patrick that she intended to go to the wedding with or without Patrick. Patrick reminded Robin that he respected her friendship with Jason, so he expected Robin to respect his feelings about Sonny.

Robin confessed that she just wanted to have fun with Patrick, because they had survived a nightmare with Lisa Niles. Robin wanted everyone to know that they had emerged from their ordeal stronger than ever. Patrick's resolve weakened when Robin revealed that she had hoped to get a sitter for Emma, so that they could enjoy a second honeymoon after the wedding by spending the night in a hotel room.

Patrick accused Robin of fighting dirty. Robin pleaded with Patrick to reconsider, so Patrick relented. He agreed to go to the wedding, because he knew that it was important to Robin. However, he wanted to reserve the right to "slap or punch" Sonny if Sonny caused any trouble. Patrick refused to let Sonny deprive him of the pleasure of having a nice evening out with his wife. Patrick didn't want anyone or anything getting between them.

9/23 At General Hospital, Patrick and Robin talked about the wedding. Patrick said he was only going because of Robin. Robin said that if it were not for Jason, she would never have learned to love Patrick. Robin gave Jason her regards and reminded him that she had told him on the day that she had left for Paris that Jason would find the perfect person for him. Sam and Patrick joined them. Patrick agreed with Robin that marriage got better all the time.

Anthony talked to a comatose Lisa Niles and bemoaned that fact that she was not responding to the massive amount of wake-up drugs that Anthony had bribed a doctor to give to her. He told her that she was going to miss out on all the fun, mostly because he intended for her to provide the fun.

9/26 Music montage of the reception as Franco monitored Sam and Jason's wedding reception on the video feeds from the hidden spy camera that he had planted. Franco danced with Sam's wedding dress while Jason danced with Sam. Music montage as Spinelli and Maxie shared a loving look, but as Spinelli approached to asked Maxie to dance.

Matt pulled her onto the floor. Lulu popped a champagne cork in expectation of Dante's imminent return to the loft, and Anthony Zacchara shot Dante in the back as Dante investigated a noise in Sonny's legitimate coffee warehouse. In the hospital, Lisa Niles twitched her fingers. Johnny rushed back to his apartment, out of breath.

Spinelli made a sincere toast, he said that he loved Jason and Sam and that they were family to him. Spinelli said that even though the wedding had not played out as planned, it was the element of non-tradition that made the wedding special. He thanked the Yis for the reception. Spinelli said that love triumphed. He raised his bottle of orange soda and toasted to his "friends, partners in crime, and now husband and wife. Live long and prosper." Everyone cheered and took a drink.

Alexis said that it was her turn to make a toast. Alexis said that she had not gotten to know Sam until she was an adult, and that Jason had not been what she'd had in mind for Sam. Alexis said that over the years, she had been forced to take a closer look at the depth of Sam and Jason's relationship.

Alexis said that Sam and Jason's relationship was like the lug nut he had given her as an engagement ring. It was strong and steady and real. Alexis told Jason that he was kind and loyal and that he loved her daughter. Alexis raised her glass and said, "You are unconventional, and may your love go on forever." Alexis hugged Sam and Jason and welcomed him to the family.

Patrick and Robin liked their fortunes, which read, "Love neverdies," and "Love never sleeps." While they cuddled and laughed, Lisa moved her fingers again and grabbed the blanket in a fist. Patrick and Robin playfully said their goodbyes as they headed home to demonstrate their love for each other.

10/4 In the elevator, Patrick insisted that he and Robin needed to put themselves first more often. Robin agreed, because their night together had been amazing. Patrick wondered if Robin intended to collect on the bet that she had won. Robin smiled as she assured him that she hadn't forgotten, but she warned him that she would choose the time and place.

The elevator doors opened, but Patrick and Robin didn't get far before Maxie approached them. Maxie revealed that she intended to put together a party for Robin's upcoming birthday. Maxie promised to keep the Fall-Harvest theme simple, yet chic. Robin insisted that she didn't need a birthday party, but Maxie was determined to salvage her name and reputation after Jason and Sam's wedding fiasco.

Maxie wanted to blow everyone away with the party. Robin wondered how many people Maxie intended to invite to the party, so Maxie admitted that she had been thinking about two hundred guests. Robin and Patrick doubted that they even knew two hundred people, so Maxie explained that many of the guests would be from the fashion industry. Patrick was curious what Robin stood to gain from the party.

"Two hundred fabulous gifts," Maxie replied. Patrick decided to let Robin and Maxie hash it out, so he left. Robin admitted that she wasn't thrilled with the idea of a big party, but Maxie begged her cousin to give Maxie the opportunity to redeem herself. Maxie insisted that her job with Kate was all that Maxie had left, so Robin reminded Maxie of Matt. Maxie confessed that she hadn't seen Matt since he had left Jason and Sam's reception without telling Maxie.

Robin suggested that Matt might have had an emergency at the hospital, but Maxie was certain that Matt had been humiliated by the wedding disaster. Robin realized that the birthday party was important to Maxie, so she decided to compromise. Robin agreed to let Maxie plan the party, but Robin wanted the guest list to be scaled down to no more than ten people. Maxie reluctantly agreed.

Matt bumped into Patrick near the elevators. Patrick admitted that he had been looking for his brother because Patrick needed Matt's assistance. Matt snarkily wondered if it might be in regards to Mr. Brockman, but Patrick quickly clarified that it was about Robin. Patrick explained that he had rented a boat for Robin's birthday, so he wondered if Matt would be interested in co-piloting. Matt wasn't surprised that Patrick expected Matt to accept a secondary role.

Patrick was curious where Matt's hostility stemmed from, prompting Matt to remind Patrick that Matt was a doctor too. Matt insisted that he didn't have time to plan parties. Matt's anger mounted as he ordered Patrick to stop poaching on Matt's patients, and to stop going to Patrick's chief-of-staff wife, and whining his way ahead of Matt in the rotation. Patrick wondered what Matt was talking about, so Matt yelled that Mr. Brockman had been his patient.

"So what?" Patrick asked. Robin was forced to step in when Matt's temper flared. Matt angrily accused Robin of showing favoritism towards Patrick. Robin assured Matt that Matt would get the next patient, but Matt didn't want Patrick's "sloppy seconds." "Apparently Lisa has gotten you very comfortable with that," Matt snapped at Robin. Patrick was furious, so he shoved Matt up against a wall.

Robin pulled her husband away from his brother, and then scolded them for their unprofessional behavior. Matt immediately apologized for his insensitive remark, but he explained that he was tired of being treated like a second-rate doctor. Patrick and Robin seemed baffled by the outburst, so Matt showed them the letter that he had received about his research paper.

Matt insisted that it was time for Matt to step out of Patrick's shadow. Patrick assured Matt that it was great that Matt's paper would be published, but Patrick confessed that he hadn't known that Matt had been involved in any research. Matt suggested that there was a lot that Patrick didn't know about his "screw-up brother," because Patrick never bothered to ask.

Patrick became defensive as he asked what Matt expected from him. "Give you a cookie or throw you a party?" Patrick wondered. Maxie perked up when she heard the word "party" as she approached, so she told Matt about her plans to throw Robin a party. Maxie remained oblivious to the tension between the doctors as she bragged about her expert party-planning skills, and then suggested that they celebrate her new job. Matt handed Maxie the paper, and walked away.

10/11 At the hospital, Robin admitted that she was relieved to have a sense of normalcy back, after what Lisa had put them through. "I hope it holds," Patrick replied. Robin wondered why he would say something like that when everything was back on track for them. She advised Patrick to stop expecting the other shoe to drop, but he admitted that everything felt too good to be true at times.

Robin conceded that it had taken her awhile to stop expecting to see Lisa suddenly appear around a corner, but it had passed. Patrick decided to shake off his troublesome thoughts, so that he could focus on ensuring that Robin had a wonderful birthday.

After Robin walked away, Patrick spotted a woman doctor waiting for the elevator. "Lisa," He quietly said as he walked up to the woman, grabbed her arm, and then spun her around. Patrick relaxed when he realized that she wasn't Lisa. The woman didn't appreciate been manhandled, so Patrick immediately apologized. Matt, who had witnessed the scene, watched the woman storm off.

Matt conceded that the woman had looked like Lisa from the back, but he thought Patrick was being paranoid. Patrick explained that he had a bad feeling, so he wondered when anyone had last checked on Lisa. Seconds later, Robin walked up. Robin assumed that they had been discussing plans for her birthday party, so Matt and Patrick didn't bother to correct her.

Robin asked Matt to make certain that Maxie didn't invite more than ten guests to the party, but Matt warned Robin that Maxie didn't listen to him. Robin smiled indulgently, and then left. Patrick thanked Matt for covering for him, because Patrick didn't want Robin to worry about Lisa.

Patrick then shifted gears by revealing that he had a candidate for Matt's clinical trial. Matt bristled when Patrick suggested that Matt consider taking over Mr. Brockman's treatment. Matt suspected that Patrick wanted to hand the case over to Matt to protect Patrick's reputation, because Patrick didn't expect Mr. Brockman live.

Later, Patrick went to the facility to check on Lisa. He was relieved to see that she was still unconscious. Patrick hoped that Lisa was floating in her own personal hell. He admitted that he didn't feel any compassion for her, but he was happy that his family was safe.

Patrick had no idea what had happened to the girl that he had known in college, but he wished that he had never met Lisa. He regretted that he had gotten involved with her a second time, but he took solace in knowing that he would never have to look at her face again. After Patrick left, Lisa's hand curled into a tight fist, and then she opened her eyes.

At the hospital, Robin noticed that Matt was reviewing Mr. Brockman's file. She wondered if Patrick had given him the case, so Matt admitted that it was still on the table. Robin was surprised, because she knew that Matt had wanted Mr. Brockman to be a part of the clinical trial. Matt explained that Patrick didn't expect Mr. Brockman to survive, but Robin suggested that Matt's opinion was the one that mattered. Robin then congratulated Matt on being published.

Matt reminded Robin that he was the same doctor that he had always been. He was frustrated because it had taken an anonymous editor, who hadn't know him, to appreciate the work that he had done, before the people that Matt had thought were closest to him had.

Later, Patrick returned to the hospital and wanted to discuss Robin's birthday party with Matt, but Matt insisted that he didn't have the time. However, Matt noticed that Patrick seemed to be in a better mood, so Patrick explained that he had gone to see Lisa, and that Lisa was where she should be. Patrick then changed the subject by suggesting that they discuss Mr. Brockman's case. Matt explained that he still needed to think about it, and then left. Moments later, Robin walked up.

Robin admitted that she was concerned about Matt. She was ashamed that they hadn't known about the paper that Matt had written. Robin insisted that they owed Matt an apology, and more. Patrick promised that he had something in mind for Matt, but first Patrick wanted to focus on giving Robin a wonderful birthday.

In Lisa's room, Anthony smiled when he saw that she was awake. He told her that they had some catching up to do, but Lisa just stared at him. "What's the matter? Catatonia got your tongue?" Anthony asked. Lisa wondered if she had him to thank for her current situation.

Anthony smiled as he admitted, "Yes." Lisa was curious if he expected her to thank him. Anthony suggested that Lisa take some time to get used to her new reality. He promised to return so that they could chat, because they had to put some people in their place. After Anthony left, Lisa clutched the covers in anger.

10/12 At the nurses' station, Robin and Elizabeth chatted about their children's Halloween costumes until Patrick arrived. Patrick grabbed Robin's hand, and then explained that he was stealing Robin for an hour to celebrate Robin's birthday. A short time later, Robin and Patrick settled into the back of a limousine. Robin wondered where they were going, so Patrick asked Robin where she would like to go.

Robin had difficulty deciding where her favorite place was, so Patrick revealed that he had taken it upon himself to choose their destination, because he knew that Robin wouldn't be able to pick. Robin was surprised when Patrick handed her a gift-wrapped box. She smiled when she saw the beautiful kimono nestled inside. Patrick explained that he had bought the kimono because he knew that she had always wanted to go to Tokyo.

Next, Patrick handed Robin a box of pastries from Paris, because he knew that she loved France. Robin took a bite of the delicious treats as Patrick reached for the third box. Inside the box was a pair of maracas from Rio de Janeiro, another place that Robin had talked about visiting. Patrick invited Robin to pick which country she wanted to take a trip to. Robin insisted that they couldn't just take off. Patrick ignored her protests as he pushed for an answer.

Robin finally admitted that she would love to go to Tokyo, so Patrick handed her an envelope with two plane tickets to Tokyo. Robin was delighted, but she wondered what he would have done if she had picked Paris. Patrick pulled two more envelopes out of his pocket. One envelope had a pair of tickets to Paris, and the other had a pair of tickets to Rio. Robin explained that they couldn't possibly take three trips.

Patrick disagreed. He revealed that the tickets were nonrefundable, but they would have time to use them. Robin smiled, and then admitted that he had given her the happiest birthday that she'd ever had. Patrick smiled, and then handed Robin a small black box. Patrick explained that the gift was from Emma, but Robin had left the house before Emma had been able to give it to her.

Robin's smile spread when she saw a handmade macaroni bracelet inside the box. Patrick helped Robin to put it on, and then pulled a beautiful silver necklace out of his pocket. He confessed that the present was more for him than it was for Robin. Robin seemed confused, so Patrick explained that he had fantasized about Robin wearing nothing except the necklace. "That can be arranged," Robin replied as she slipped out of her jacket.

Patrick and Robin kissed, and then made love. Afterwards, Robin wondered if Patrick had ever made love in a limousine. Patrick confessed that he had not, so Robin was curious if the reality had lived up to his fantasy. He admitted that it had surpassed it, because fantasies ended, but reality did not. Robin smiled with joy as she leaned forward to kiss her husband.

Maxie asked to use the phone at the nurse’s station because a problem had cropped up with the caterer for Robin's party. Epiphany made it clear that the phone was for hospital business, not Maxie's crisis. Maxie warned Epiphany that Robin's party would be ruined if Maxie didn't get things straightened out with the caterer, but Epiphany didn't care. Moments later, disaster struck when an orderly bumped into Maxie, knocking the cake box, which she had been carrying, out of her hands.

When Robin and Patrick returned to the hospital, Maxie demanded to know where they had been, so Robin started to explain. Maxie cut her cousin off when Robin revealed more information about Robin and Patrick's tryst in the back of the limousine than Maxie wanted to know. Robin noticed that Maxie had icing on her blazer, so Maxie explained that the birthday cake had been destroyed, and that the party was a bust.

After Maxie stormed off in a huff, Robin and Patrick went to the nurses' station, where they saw the ruined birthday cake. Patrick lit a candle, and then invited Robin to make a wish. Robin closed her eyes, and then blew out the candle. Epiphany wished Robin a happy birthday, and then confessed that she had also made a wish on the birthday candle. Epiphany had hoped that Maxie stayed away from the hospital.

After Epiphany left, Patrick wondered what Robin had wished for. Robin confessed that she had wished for more birthdays like the one that he had given her. Patrick fed Robin a piece of the red velvet birthday cake, and then told her that he loved her before he gave her a kiss.

10/13 At the hospital, Robin decided to take a picture of her ruined birthday cake before Patrick tossed it into the trash can. Robin explained that she wanted to remember every part of the best birthday that she had ever had, even the cake that Maxie had dropped. Robin then admitted that the three sets of plane tickets, to Robin's top three dream destinations, had been truly inspirational gifts. Patrick suggested that they take a look at their schedules, so that they could make plans for their first trip.

Robin became discouraged when she realized that it wouldn't be easy to plan three trips around their busy schedules. Patrick insisted that they would find a way. Moments later, Epiphany walked up with a box of cupcakes. Epiphany explained that the staff had chipped in to buy the cupcakes for Robin's birthday. Patrick was curious what the flavor of the cupcakes were, so Epiphany explained that they were color-coded. Epiphany was confident that Robin and Patrick would be able to figure it out.

Later, Patrick revealed that had an idea on how to celebrate Matt's recent success. Patrick explained that he had rented a boat for Robin's birthday, but instead of taking Robin out on the boat, they could throw Matt a party on it. Robin thought it was a good idea, but Patrick sensed that she was a bit disappointed. He wondered if she would have preferred to have gone out on the boat. Robin quickly assured him that she wouldn't have traded their time in the limousine for anything. Patrick reminded Robin that it wasn't midnight yet, so he had one more gift for her, a CD.

Patrick explained that it was an instructional CD on how to design their dream house. Robin was eager to check it out, so they put it in the computer. They looked at the various styles of homes until Robin settled on a Victorian style house. Patrick revealed that he wanted an open floor plan with French doors, and an extra bedroom, so that they would have room for their family to grow. Robin smiled at the thought of having another child. "Definitely," she replied.

At the long-term care facility, Lisa demanded to know why Anthony hadn't left her alone. Anthony resented Lisa's lack of gratitude; he informed her that he had spent quite a bit of money to get her out of the coma. Lisa complained that she was more lifeless and alone than she had been before. Anthony wondered if she had lost interest in getting even with Patrick and Robin. Anthony assured Lisa that she had the chance to finish what she had started. Lisa was curious what would happen after that, because her career was over, and she would be facing criminal charges.

Anthony was frustrated, because he resented "certain people" looking down their noses at him. Lisa realized that Anthony had helped her for his own selfish purposes, so she warned him that she wasn't sure that she wanted to play his game. Anthony conceded that Lisa's options were limited, but he promised to set her up somewhere nice, where she could live out her life in comfort, after she had taken care of Patrick. Lisa remained in a surly mood, so Anthony decided to give Lisa some time to get accustomed to her new circumstances. However, he warned her that he could easily put her back to sleep if she didn't cooperate.

Later, Lisa jumped into her bed when she spotted a nurse carrying a food tray, headed towards Lisa's room. Lisa pretended to be in a catatonic state as the nurse set the tray of food down, and then checked the monitors. Lisa seized the opportunity to snatch up the tray, and then bash the nurse over the head. The nurse collapsed on the floor, so Lisa closed the door, and then approached the nurse. A short time later, Lisa slipped out of the room, wearing the nurse's uniform.

10/14 Matt worried that Patrick might accost another woman who resembled Lisa. Patrick expressed his relief that Lisa would never be able to terrorize them again. As they conversed, Lisa eavesdropped. Patrick informed Matt that Robin had planned a party to celebrate Matt having gotten published. Lisa overheard Patrick say that he'd chartered a boat, which would depart within an hour. Matt called to invite Maxie to the party, but she blew him off.

Anthony caught Lisa lurking and let her know that he'd covered her tracks with regard to the nurse she'd attacked. He'd seen to it that no one would report that Lisa had escaped. Later, Anthony caught up with Lisa at the waterfront and pressed her to reveal her plan. As they spoke, Lisa picked up a loose board and attacked him.

Robin noticed Elizabeth's foul mood and asked what was going on. Elizabeth let Robin know that Lucky was leaving town after they'd had a big fight. Elizabeth disparaged Siobhan's having become "the great, tragic love of his life." Robin pointed out that maybe Elizabeth was reacting so strongly because Elizabeth really did want to rebuild her life with Lucky.

10/17 On the docks, Lisa hit Anthony in the stomach with a plank that had a nail embedded in it. Anthony was surprised by the stabbing, but offered to help Lisa escape, anyway. He reached for her hand. Instead of accepting his offer she pushed him into the water and left the docks.

Robin and Patrick traded barbs about her color-coding system. Robin insisted that the staff approved. When Robin tried to get Epiphany to agree, Epiphany dodged the question and told the doctors Drake to get ready for the cruise. Robin spotted Steve and told him that she had three more applicants for the open pediatric position. She was miffed when Steve said he had already hired someone.

Robin said that Steve was no longer chief of staff; Steve responded that she was always preaching teamwork, and he had acted as part of the team to secure the best possible person for the job, a doctor he had know in Memphis. Robin tartly told Steve that she hoped the new doctor impressed Robin as much as Steve. Robin and Patrick got on the elevator and headed for the boat.

Johnny opened his apartment door and found Lisa standing in his living room, clad only in her bra and panties. He was surprised but glad to see her. He asked about her recovery. She likened herself to Frankenstein's monster and said that fundamental laws of God and nature had been broken to restore her to consciousness.

Johnny quickly figured out that Anthony was responsible for reviving Lisa. Johnny wondered if Anthony's plan was to turn Lisa loose on Patrick and Robin. They sat on the couch and hugged. Johnny said he was glad to see her and glad that she was alive. Johnny said that there was something different in Lisa's eyes.

Johnny asked what Anthony was holding over Lisa. She said. "Life." Lisa said that Anthony had the power to give it or take it away. Johnny said that he would protect Lisa from Anthony. Lisa was playful when she said that Johnny was trying to spare her pain while at the same time preventing her from causing pain. Lisa asked Johnny if he was trying to stop her or save her. Lisa said that she had only dropped by Johnny's place to change clothes.

Johnny told Lisa that she did not have to let anyone define her or use her. Lisa said that Johnny wanted to save her because he could not save himself. They kissed sweetly. Johnny told Lisa that he would put her up in a safe, discreet place where Anthony could not find her. Lisa stabbed a trusting Johnny in the neck with a syringe and then said that he had forgotten one thing -- that she did not want to be saved.

10/18 At the Zacchara penthouse, Johnny demanded to know what Lisa had injected him with. Lisa cryptically explained that she had given him what she had given herself: time. "To do what?" Johnny asked as the drug slowly incapacitated him. Lisa refused to say, so Johnny wondered why she had drugged him. He assured her that he would have helped her.

Lisa changed into some dark clothing as she revealed that it was true that people heard things in a coma. She confessed that it would have been nice if someone had given her words of encouragement while she had been in a coma, but it hadn't happened. Johnny continued to struggle with the paralytic, as he asked her if there were an antidote for what she had injected him with. "For you, time. For attraction, for love...there is none." Lisa answered. Johnny tried to reason with Lisa, but Lisa wasn't interested in deviating from her deadly plan.

Johnny couldn't understand why Lisa was determined to throw her life away. Lisa realized that Johnny had been tortured, because he hadn't been able to save his sister, Claudia. She conceded that the old Lisa would have fallen into Johnny's arms at his offer to help, but not the new Lisa.

"This is what your father brought me back for. To create chaos, revenge," Lisa explained. Johnny insisted that she couldn't punish Patrick for loving someone else, but Lisa argued that she simply intended to make certain that Patrick never forgot Robin, and that Robin would be in Patrick's thoughts for as long, or as briefly, as Patrick lived.

Johnny begged Lisa not to harm anyone, but Lisa ignored his pleas. After Lisa left, Johnny's cell phone rang. Johnny tried to get to it, but his body was almost completely paralyzed. He managed to throw himself off of the sofa, but he was unable to make it to the phone. Eventually, the paralysis consumed his body, leaving him unable to move as he stared up at the ceiling.

On the chartered boat, Matt, Elizabeth, Patrick, Robin, Steven, and Olivia gathered on the deck to watch the boat pull away from the harbor.

Afterwards, everyone headed to the salon. Matt and Elizabeth joined the rest of the party. Everyone clapped as they cheered for Matt. Captain MacLeod introduced himself, and his first mate, Briggs. Briggs served the champagne, so Patrick took the opportunity to toast Matt's success for the biggest cancer research breakthrough. Patrick insisted that cancer patients around the world would benefit from Matt's work. After everyone raised a glass to Matt, Robin handed Matt a wrapped present.

Matt was stunned to realize that it was Noah's journal, which had notes from the initial research that had led to Matt's breakthrough. Patrick revealed that there was one more surprise. Matt's phone rang. It was Noah, calling to congratulate his son. Matt was speechless when Noah confessed that he was proud of Matt. Patrick admitted that he was also proud of his brother.

Meanwhile, Lisa had managed to stow away on the boat. She recalled all of the hateful things that the people at Matt's party had said to her. Seconds later, she heard everyone gather on deck, so she slipped closer to spy on them. Lisa smiled when Patrick announced that the fun had just begun.

Later, Steve and Robin talked about the pediatrician that Steve had hired. Robin admitted that she was still upset, because he hadn't discussed it with her first. Steve promised that Robin would appreciate Steve's decision when the new doctor had the pediatrics department running like clockwork. Robin wondered what the doctor's name was, so Steve revealed that her name was Margaret "Maggie" Wurth. Robin feared that Steve's judgment had been clouded by personal bias, because he had worked with Maggie in Memphis. Steve insisted that he had been completely objective.

Moments later, Patrick joined them. Patrick reminded Steve and Robin that the night was about Matt, not General Hospital. Steve and Robin agreed, as Olivia, Matt, and Elizabeth stepped out on deck. Olivia confessed that she had smuggled something on board, just as Briggs appeared with Steve's guitar. Everyone encouraged Steve to play something, but Steve was reluctant, so Elizabeth decided to share a story about Steve that their father had loved to tell.

Elizabeth revealed that one day after church, Steve had decided to debut his favorite song, which he had played over and over for the family. Matt teased Steve by suggesting that it had been something by Air Supply. Everyone else took turns guessing. Steve blushed with embarrassment when Elizabeth admitted that it had been Dolly Parton's "Nine to Five." Everyone burst out laughing, and then requested that Steve play something. Eventually, Steve took the guitar, and then sang a song.

Nearby, Lisa pulled out a syringe, which had been filled with an unknown substance. Later, she spied on Robin and Patrick as they talked about spending more quality time together. Patrick decided to fetch some appetizers, so he left Robin alone on the deck.

10/19 In the salon of the chartered boat, Matt thanked Patrick for his support. Patrick thought that it was great that Matt had been published, but Patrick insisted that Matt still had a lot of prove. Patrick warned Matt not to let the accomplishment go to Matt's head. Matt's smile faded as he accused Patrick of always reminding Matt that Matt was second best as a surgeon, and as a son.

Patrick shot back that Matt was hell-bent on resenting Patrick. Patrick was curious why Matt thought that Patrick had had it any better growing up than Matt had. Matt reminded Patrick that their father had been married to Patrick's mother, and Noah had acknowledged Patrick's existence. Patrick argued that Noah had always been gone, and that their father had been a notorious womanizer, who had cheated on Patrick's mother, and fathered a child during one of those affairs.

Matt insisted that at least Noah had been around long enough for Patrick to hate their father. Patrick reminded Matt that Noah had killed Patrick's mother in the operating room, and then had used her death as an excuse to dive into the bottom of a bottle. Patrick explained that he had vowed never to end up like their father, prompting Matt to wonder if Patrick were suggesting that Matt was in danger of following in their father's footsteps. Patrick admitted that it was inevitable, if Matt continued on the path that he was on.

On the deck of the boat, Lisa lurked out of sight, as she eavesdropped on Robin and Elizabeth talking about Steve. Elizabeth confessed that she liked Olivia, because Olivia seemed to help Steve get past what had happened in Memphis. Robin was curious what exactly had happened, so Elizabeth admitted that she didn't know the details.

Elizabeth confided that it had involved a woman, and a ring. Elizabeth explained that Steve didn't discuss it, but she knew that her brother had been troubled by it, because she had heard hints of it in his music, and he had thrown himself into his work. Robin and Elizabeth then talked about Robin's new position at the hospital. Elizabeth thought that Robin had done a wonderful job as chief of staff, but she advised her friend not to get lost in it.

Patrick returned to his wife's side, so Elizabeth excused herself. Robin confessed that she couldn't live without Patrick. Patrick smiled, but was curious why she had said that. "How would you like to be chief of staff?" Robin asked. Robin explained that she had not envisioned balancing budgets when she had gone to medical school. She admitted that she wanted to focus on research, in the hopes of finding a way to eliminate HIV and AIDS.

Robin didn't want their daughter to lose someone to the disease, as Robin had. She explained that she wanted to find a new chief of staff, so she was curious if Patrick were interested. "Forget it," Patrick replied. He assured Robin that he would support her, but he refused to take the job. Patrick quoted Robin when he reminded her that just because he could do something, didn't mean that he should.

Robin wondered if he were afraid that someone like Matt would steal his glory. Patrick explained that he loved working in the operating room, and that it was the reason that he had gotten into medicine. Robin admitted that she didn't want to lose Patrick, because the job had pulled her away from her family. Patrick insisted that he had bought the plane tickets to Paris, Tokyo, and Rio de Janeiro, to remind her that they had a life together.

Patrick insisted that they had all the time in the world to travel, but Robin wanted to enjoy it while they could. Robin recalled when her mother, Anna, had been the police commissioner. According to Robin, Anna had done everything she could to take care of Robin, and to do her job, but Anna had been stretched too thin. Robin didn't want Emma to feel the same way about Robin, but she was also reluctant for Emma to think of Robin as a quitter.

Patrick explained that it was Robin's decision to make. Robin insisted that she wanted his input, so Patrick assured her that they could make it work, even if they only saw each other during breaks. Patrick kissed Robin, and then suggested that they find something to satisfy Robin's sweet tooth.

Robin decided to look for Briggs, while Patrick went to fetch some champagne. Elsewhere on deck, Briggs was unconscious as Lisa started to strip the first mate of her uniform. Lisa was startled when she looked up and saw Anthony looming over her. "Does this mean I can get my clothes back?" Anthony asked.

10/20 On the chartered boat, Anthony observed that he hadn't been Lisa's only victim, as he glanced down at the unconscious first mate. Lisa pointed out that he had survived. Anthony reminded Lisa that he had paid a fortune to pull her out of a coma, so he expected some cooperation from her. Lisa started to protest, but Anthony heard a noise, so he quickly covered Lisa's mouth, and then pulled her out of sight.

Seconds later, Patrick appeared on deck with a bottle of champagne. Patrick stopped when he spotted a penny on the ground, so he picked it up, and then continued on his way.

Anthony suggested that he and Lisa could still be of use to each other, since Patrick still had to learn a lesson about playing God. Anthony decided that he would let Lisa finish what Anthony had started. Lisa accused Anthony of using her, but Anthony explained that they all used each other. According to Anthony, life was a bargain system. To show his good faith, he assured her that there would be a boat waiting to whisk her away when she wrapped up her business on the yacht. "Why?" Lisa asked.

Anthony insisted that it was in both of their best interest for her to disappear when her work was done. Anthony glanced at the first mate, and then advised Lisa to show some restraint with the body count. Lisa wondered how she could know that she wouldn't end up on the pile. "You don't," Anthony admitted. After Lisa slipped into the first mate's uniform, Lisa was curious why Anthony thought that he was safe from her. Anthony reminded Lisa that he was her only ticket off of the boat.

Lisa argued that she didn't have a life to get back to. Anthony conceded that she had some readjusting to do, but she would first need an escape route, especially if she left dead bodies in her wake. Lisa revealed that she hadn't killed the first mate, because she hadn't had any interest in the woman. Anthony was curious if Lisa was concerned about the captain finding his first mate unconscious and undressed. Lisa assured Anthony that she intended to deal with the captain next. Anthony warned her that she would run out of syringes, but Lisa revealed that she had enough for everyone.

Patrick joined Robin in one of the staterooms. Robin was worried that it might seem rude that they had left the party, but Patrick was confident that Matt would appreciate his absence. Patrick poured the champagne, and then handed a glass to Robin. Afterwards, he tried to kiss her, but Robin pulled away. Patrick wondered what was bothering her, but Robin was reluctant to talk about it.

Patrick decided to use his newfound penny, by suggesting that if it landed on heads, she would tell him what was on her mind. The penny landed on heads, so Robin revealed that she couldn't stop thinking about why she had gotten into medicine. She insisted that she had been interested in research, not the chief of staff position.

Robin confessed that she enjoyed spending time with Patrick, and then in the next breath she decided to check in with Epiphany. Patrick reminded Robin that it was their time, so he stopped her from picking up the phone. Patrick kissed Robin, and then they made love.

Afterwards, Robin and Patrick talked about all the places that they had recently made love. The conversation then drifted to their new house. Robin confided that she didn't want a huge house with room that they didn't use; she wanted a beautiful, warm, cozy house. Patrick assured Robin that she would get what she wanted.

Meanwhile, Lisa hovered in the hallway, with her ear pressed to the door. The captain spotted Lisa, but mistook her for Briggs until Lisa turned around. Lisa immediately plunged the syringe in the captain's neck. The captain crumpled to the ground, so Lisa turned back to the door.

Inside the cabin, Patrick revealed that he wanted a man cave in their new house. Robin raised an eyebrow, and then announced that she wanted her own private spa, complete with steam shower, sauna, and a hot tub for one. Patrick understood her unspoken message, so he agreed to stick to the essentials. He assured her that all he needed was Robin and Emma.

Robin smiled, and then suggested that he frame the penny that he had found, and then hang it over their door to remind them of how lucky they were. A short time later, Robin got dressed, and then announced that she intended to get something to eat.

On deck, Elizabeth stared out at the water. She was stunned when she turned and saw Lisa closing in on her.

10/21 After Lisa had attacked him, Johnny lay on the floor and struggled to get up. On the yacht, Lisa attacked Elizabeth with chloroform and dumped Liz's body overboard. An unseen person discovered an unconscious Elizabeth and took her to shore.

In their stateroom, Robin and Patrick enjoyed their time alone. Lisa approached their door and listened in. Robin left to get a bite to eat. As soon as she was gone, Lisa entered the room. Robin later returned to the room and heard the shower running. She went into the lavatory where Lisa attacked her. Robin regained consciousness and saw Patrick, who was out cold. Lisa, who had tied both of them up, cryptically told Robin that Patrick and Robin were responsible for what would happen next.

10/24 A mysterious stranger rescued Elizabeth. As soon as she woke up, the rescuer ran away. Elizabeth called out, but the stranger did not look back. Elizabeth dragged herself off the beach.

After Lisa drugged her, Robin awoke to find herself tied to a chair and Patrick drugged and tied to the bed. Lisa said that she had plans for Patrick. Lisa asked if Robin knew that Patrick had recently paid Lisa a visit in her hospital room. Patrick woke up and demanded that Lisa untie him. Lisa told Patrick and Robin that it was time for things to get interesting.

Patrick wanted to know how Lisa had recovered. Lisa said that she was unclean, like Lazarus, who she suspected the villagers feared after he had been raised from the dead. Lisa said that she was no longer motivated by hunger or unrequited love. Lisa said her soul was dead. Lisa taunted Robin and said that she had paid off the nanny and had taken Emma. When Robin screamed, Lisa pulled out a syringe.

Patrick tried to convince Lisa that he really cared for Lisa and had been pretending with Robin so that he would not lose custody of Emma. Lisa walked over to the bed and curled up against Patrick. She said that the old Lisa would believe Patrick's transparent lie, but not the new Lisa. While Lisa's attention was on Patrick, Robin worked at extricating herself from the ropes. Lisa told Patrick that love and hate had seeped out of her while she had been in the coma. Lisa said only one thing was clear to her: that she and Patrick would be together. Lisa got up, walked over to Robin and told Patrick that one way or another, Robin would be under his skin.

Patrick begged Lisa to stop. Robin cautioned Patrick to think about Emma. Patrick was pleading with Lisa when he saw her plunge the syringe into Robin's arm. When Patrick wanted to know what Lisa had done to Robin, Lisa said that Patrick thought that she had given Robin an overdose so that Patrick would have to watch Robin die. Lisa asked him where the irony was in that. Lisa said that this time around, she had thought about what to do.

Lisa said she was going to give Patrick everything that he had ever wanted. She showed him a syringe filled with Robin's blood. Patrick told Lisa that she did not have to hurt Robin. Robin begged Lisa not to hurt Patrick. Lisa said that since Patrick loved Robin so much, she was going to let them share everything, including HIV. Patrick said that he was not scared. He told Lisa that Robin had lived with HIV every day since she had been a teenager.

Patrick proudly announced that Robin showed more courage every day than anyone he had every known. Patrick told Lisa that she might be void of love and hate but she could still feel disappointment. While Lisa was distracted, Robin freed herself from her bonds and attacked Lisa seconds before she stabbed Patrick with the syringe and emptied Robin's tainted blood into him. As Lisa and Robin struggled, Patrick called out Robin's name.

10/25 On the pier, Johnny appeared and demanded, "What the hell have you done?" Johnny demanded. Johnny insisted that Anthony was the last person who should have played God with Lisa. Anthony was surprised that Johnny had seen Lisa. Johnny insisted that Lisa was just a shell of the person that she had been, and then he noticed his father cringe in pain.

Anthony assured his son that he was fine, but then revealed that Lisa had "nailed" him with the two-by-four. Johnny was stunned when Anthony confessed that Lisa had boarded the boat to terrorize Patrick, and others, and that she expected Anthony to pick her up. Johnny realized that Anthony intended to take Lisa to an undisclosed location, where Anthony would kill her, and then dump her body. Anthony insisted that Lisa was beyond saving.

Anthony was startled when Johnny snatched the keys away from Anthony, and then headed to the boat. Anthony argued that Lisa didn't expect Johnny. "Exactly," Johnny replied. After Johnny took off in the boat, Anthony called his henchman to arrange for another boat to be delivered immediately.

In Robin and Patrick's cabin, Robin and Lisa struggled over the syringe. Lisa managed to throw Robin across the room, which temporarily knocked Robin out. Lisa then closed in on Patrick, determined to inject him with Robin's tainted blood. Lisa explained that it would be a gift, because Patrick would be able to carry a part of Robin in his veins forever. Patrick insisted that he wasn't afraid, but Lisa didn't believe him.

Lisa was about to plunge the syringe into Patrick when Robin suddenly sprang up, and then pulled the syringe out of Lisa's hand. Lisa quickly fled the cabin, so Robin started to untie Patrick. He assured her that Lisa hadn't pricked him with the syringe, but Robin insisted that Patrick be given the HIV drug protocol as soon as possible.

Patrick was stunned when Robin only untied one of his hands, and then ordered him to call Mac, while she went after Lisa. Patrick demanded that Robin remain in the cabin, but Robin grabbed the syringe, and then left. Patrick quickly untied himself, and then called Mac.

Moments later, Matt stumbled into the cabin. Patrick left without explaining what had happened. Meanwhile, Lisa stood on the deck of the boat, looking for the getaway boat. She ducked out of sight seconds before Robin appeared, armed with a metal mallet. Robin heard a noise, so she quickly took cover. Steve appeared on deck. Robin warned Steve that Lisa was onboard. Steve ordered Robin to find a safe place to hide, and then went to search for Olivia. Steve insisted that no one would be safe until "that bitch is dead." After Steve left, Patrick caught up to Robin.

Patrick begged Robin to wait in the salon, while he tracked down Lisa. Robin eventually agreed, but she warned Patrick that Elizabeth and Olivia were missing. Patrick was determined to take care of Lisa, once and for all, so he told Robin that he loved her, and then left.

Patrick found the first mate, unconscious. Meanwhile, Robin entered the salon, but it was empty. Robin had flashbacks to her last violent encounter with Lisa at the hospital. "Never again," Robin vowed as she looked at the syringe filled with her blood. Robin left the salon.

Maxie arrived on a dinghy and searched the boat for Matt, unaware that Lisa was on the loose. Maxie found a cabin, where she was certain that she would find Matt and Elizabeth in bed together. Maxie threw open the door, but the bed was empty. Maxie vowed to find Elizabeth, whom she referred to as "Nurse Skank," and then accused Elizabeth of being a "nauseating little bitch." Maxie opened the door to the closet, and then screamed when the unconscious captain fell out.

Elsewhere on the boat, Lisa spotted a craft approaching in the water, so she waved her arms in an attempt to catch its attention. Lisa turned and saw Robin closing in, and then smiled when she noticed the syringe in Robin's hand. Lisa doubted that Robin had it in her to inject Lisa with the syringe, but Robin argued that Lisa didn't know what Robin was capable of.

Robin had a flashback of their struggle at the hospital, when Lisa had tried to kill Robin with the drain cleaner, so she attacked Lisa. Robin managed to jab the needle into Lisa's neck, but Lisa pushed Robin away. Robin stumbled down a flight of stairs, and then looked up to see Lisa looming over her.

A short time later, Spinelli spotted Elizabeth on the beach, so he went to her rescue.

10/26 Anthony walked up to Johnny on the pier. Anthony was clutching his stomach, but Johnny didn't seem concerned as he asked his father, "Where were you?"

"Where were you?" Anthony replied. Anthony then laughed softly as he promised not to tell if Johnny didn't.

On the chartered boat, Patrick gently shook Robin awake when he saw her lying unconscious on the deck. Robin cried out to be left alone as she woke up, but soon realized that Patrick stood over her body, not Lisa. Robin remained rattled, even though Patrick assured her that Lisa was no longer on the boat. Robin had an injured arm, but she refused to let Patrick look at it, because she feared that her blood might infect him.

Robin remained concerned about Lisa's attempt to inject Patrick with the tainted blood, so she insisted that Patrick go on antiviral drugs immediately. Patrick promised Robin that he was fine, but Robin wasn't appeased.

Robin confessed that she had been about to inject Lisa with the tainted syringe, but at the last moment, Robin had had a change of heart. Robin insisted that, as a doctor, she hadn't been able to intentionally infect Lisa with HIV. Robin became frustrated when she realized that she couldn't remember the last few minutes on deck with Lisa. Patrick didn't want Robin to think about it.

Steve appeared on deck, looking for Olivia. Patrick and Robin became concerned when they noticed that Steve had scratch marks on his face. Steve revealed that he had gone swimming earlier, so he suspected that he had received the facial injuries then. Steve was curious if they had seen Elizabeth, but Patrick and Robin admitted that they hadn't. Steve was worried about his sister and Olivia, so he left to look for them.

Robin confessed that she didn't trust that Lisa was gone. Robin pointed out that it was too dark for Lisa to swim to shore. Patrick was adamant that Lisa was no longer a threat to them, so he refused to continue to talk about her. Robin explained that she needed to make sense of everything, so she couldn't let it go.

Seconds later, Patrick and Robin spotted the harbor master approaching the boat. As they waited for Mac to arrive, Robin wondered if Patrick had moved her before he had woken her up. "No," Patrick replied. Robin recalled that she had struggled with Lisa, and then Lisa had shoved Robin down a flight of stairs, resulting in Robin's arm injury.

Mac, Ronnie, Officer Padilla, and another police officer boarded the boat. Robin and Patrick quickly filled Mac in on what had happened on the boat with Lisa. Robin showed Mac the syringe, filled with Robin's HIV-positive blood, which Lisa had threatened to inject Patrick with. Patrick credited Robin with stopping Lisa. Mac was curious if they knew where Lisa was. Robin didn't know, but she hoped that Lisa hadn't had time to claim any more victims.

In a cabin, Maxie was upset as she glanced down at her hands, which appeared to be covered in blood. Nearby, the captain's lifeless body was crumpled on the cabin floor. Seconds later, Officer Padilla entered the cabin, with her gun drawn. She ordered Maxie to step away from the body.

Mac and Ronnie gathered the passengers in the salon, where they saw Matt passed out on the sofa. Mac was curious if anyone had seen Lisa leave the boat. Patrick explained that it was the only logical conclusion, so Mac suggested that Patrick answer the questions, so that the police could do their job. "No, no one saw her," Patrick replied. Mac wondered if anyone else had seen anything. Patrick and Steve glanced at each other, but didn't reply.

Officer Padilla led Maxie to the salon. Officer Padilla revealed that the captain was dead from a puncture wound to the neck. Ronnie wondered whose blood was on Maxie's hands, so Maxie claimed that it was nail polish. Maxie explained that she had dropped her purse on the ground after the captain had fallen out of the closet. Maxie was upset because a bottle of red nail polish had exploded in her purse, ruining everything inside, including her phone.

Matt slowly woke up and then saw Maxie. Ronnie was curious why Maxie had been looking in the closet, so she revealed that she had been searching for Matt. Matt wondered how Maxie had gotten onboard. Maxie explained that she had used the ladder, so Olivia pointed out that Lisa had likely used the ladder as an escape route. Matt realized that Elizabeth wasn't in the salon, so he asked where Elizabeth was. Mac confessed that he wanted to know where Lisa was.

10/27 On the chartered boat, Maxie was stunned to learn that Lisa had terrorized the passengers. Matt was equally startled by the news, so Patrick pointed out that Matt had been too drunk to realize what had been happening. Matt reminded Patrick that it had been Matt's party, "so I can cry if I want to."

Matt then wondered where Maxie had been all evening. Maxie claimed that she had spent the night in a boat, having a romantic picnic with Spinelli. "With Spinelli?" Matt asked. "Why not with Spinelli?" Maxie defensively replied.

Mac explained that he would need statements from everyone, but Robin was eager to get home to check on Emma. Mac assured Robin that he had called to make certain that Emma was fine. Steve pointed out to Mac that Robin needed medical attention for her arm, so Steve insisted on taking her to the hospital.

Mac asked Patrick and Robin to tell him everything that had happened, so Patrick and Robin revealed that Lisa had intended to inject Patrick with Robin's HIV-positive blood. Maxie was horrified by Lisa's diabolical plan. Matt remained determined to find Elizabeth, but Mac ordered Matt to stay put. Robin told Mac about the struggle with Lisa on deck.

Mac decided to put an APB out on Lisa, because Robin was certain that Lisa was still on the loose. Steve feared that Lisa might have taken Elizabeth hostage, while Matt was concerned that Lisa had hurt Elizabeth. Robin explained that Lisa had only intended to harm Robin and Patrick, so she was confident that Elizabeth was fine.

Steve became frantic, because he feared that Elizabeth might have gotten in Lisa's way, so Lisa had harmed his sister. Officer Padilla suggested that Robin go to the hospital to have her arm stitched up. Ronnie groused that Officer Padilla was a cop, not a doctor. Patrick and Steve agreed that Robin needed stitches, and Olivia added that Steve should have the scratches on his face looked at.

Mac was curious about Steve's injury, but Steve was spared having to explain when his phone rang. It was Monica. Monica explained that Elizabeth was being treated for hypothermia, but she was coherent and stable. Steve ended the call, and then updated everyone. Matt felt responsible for Elizabeth nearly drowning, so he started to leave.

Maxie demanded to know where Matt was going, so he pointed out that Elizabeth needed his help. Patrick argued that Matt wasn't in any condition to help, but Matt insisted that hearing about Elizabeth's brush with death had sobered him up. Mac insisted that no one would leave until he knew exactly what had transpired during the trip.

An officer entered the salon to report that "a crazy person" had tried to take a boat out of the harbor to reach the boat, because "the dangerous doctor of death," was loose. Maxie admitted that it sounded like her crazy person, so Matt gave Maxie a pointed look. Steve argued that Mac didn't have any reason to keep him there, so Mac agreed to let Robin, Olivia, and Steve leave.

Mac received a call from Spinelli. Mac assured Spinelli that Maxie was fine. Maxie heard Mac's remark, so she whined that the nail polish would never get out of her designer purse. Robin revealed to Officer Padilla that she had lost her watch during the struggle with Lisa, so Robin had decided to look for it, because it had been a gift from Anna. Mac told Robin to be careful, so Robin reminded Mac that Lisa was no longer on the boat.

Later, Robin found her watch near the staircase that she had tumbled down. Robin glanced at the deck, and then saw the blood from her injured arm. Seconds later, Robin jumped when Patrick quietly walked up behind her. Patrick immediately apologized for startling her, and then asked her what she had been doing.

Robin explained that she had found her watch exactly where she had expected to find it, which confirmed that she had fallen down the stairs. Robin couldn't understand how Patrick could have found her on another part of the deck, or why she couldn't remember getting there. Patrick reminded Robin that it was over, and then revealed that the boat was there to take them to shore.

Officer Padilla observed that everyone who had been on the boat looked uneasy. Ronnie reminded Officer Padilla that a psycho had been on the boat with them, so they had a reason to be rattled. He advised her not to turn the investigation into something that it wasn't, just because she wanted some action. Ronnie suggested that Officer Padilla focus on finding Lisa.

10/31 In her dream, Robin was napping on the couch when an intruder wearing a pumpkin-head mask startled her awake. When the intruder removed the mask, it was Lisa Niles, who pulled out a syringe. When Robin actually awoke, she was unsettled, but Patrick comforted her. He advised Robin to rest up after her ordeal, but she said that she wanted to take Emma to the GH Halloween party.

Robin said that she could not stop thinking about Lisa and then said she had to stop thinking about Lisa because it gave Lisa too much power over Robin's life. Patrick seemed convinced that Lisa was gone for good and told Robin to relax. Patrick picked up Emma, dressed in a fairy princess costume, and took her to the car while Robin got Emma's tiara and goody bag. The bag was shaped like a pumpkin. Robin remembered her dream about Lisa in costume.

While Robin took Emma trick-or-treating in the hospital, Patrick went back to work. Mac arrived to ask more questions of Matt, Patrick, and Steve about events on the boat. In the background, a clown seemed very interested in their conversation. Patrick asked if Lisa's body had been found.

Mac wanted to know why Patrick assumed that Lisa was dead. Matt wanted to know how Lisa had been revived. Mac wanted to know how Robin was coping. Patrick said that Robin was with Emma. When Mac left to find her, the clown bowed.

The clown walked to the elevator and bumped into Robin as she stepped off. Robin picked up Emma and held her close. The clown got on the elevator. Patrick took Emma from Robin and asked about their afternoon. Emma showed all the candy that she had collected. Patrick went back to work. Maxie stepped off the elevator, as Robin was about to get on and head home.

Robin wished Maxie happy birthday and invited her to dinner, but Maxie insisted that she was going out with Matt. They hugged and parted. Patrick asked Matt about Maxie. Matt said he had a surprise planned at the Metro Court for Maxie's birthday. Patrick was paged away. Maxie was creeping up on Matt's back when she received a text message from an unknown party inviting her to meet for dinner at the Metro Court. She tiptoed away and did not let Matt know that she was there.

Robin took Emma home and they counted Emma's candy. Robin apologized to Emma for the scary clown and said that it would not happen again. At GH, the clown in question seemed to be watching Steve and Patrick. Robin held Emma but did not notice the shadow of a pumpkin head outside. When the doorbell rang, Robin took the treat bowl to the door. When she answered it, the person standing there was wearing the same costume that Lisa had been wearing in Robin's dream.

11/3 At the Drake residence, Emma was exhausted from the Halloween festivities at the hospital, so she had fallen asleep on the sofa. Patrick decided to carry his daughter to bed, to tuck her in for the night. He chuckled when he returned to the living room, because Emma had insisted on him reading a bedtime story to her, despite how tired she had been.

Robin confessed that she was disappointed, because Emma's birthday party had not gone as Robin had hoped. Robin regretted that she had planned it for the middle of the week, instead of the weekend. Patrick assured Robin that it was fine, but Robin felt guilty, because her busy schedule didn't give Robin a lot of time to spend with Emma. The conversation then drifted to the topic of Lisa. Robin wondered if their lives would ever be normal again.

"Yes," Patrick promised Robin. Robin warned him that she intended to hold him to that. Patrick reiterated that Lisa would never hurt their family again, so Robin told Patrick about the nightmare that she'd had of Lisa terrorizing Robin, while wearing a pumpkin-head mask. Robin explained that her dream had been the reason that she had freaked out when a trick-or-treater had shown up on their doorstep, wearing the same kind of mask.

Patrick felt terrible, because he had been responsible for Lisa being in their lives. Robin insisted that they had the opportunity for a new beginning, so she wanted to focus on that. Robin then admitted that she wished that their daughter had been awake, so that they could celebrate Emma's birthday. Patrick was struck with inspiration, so he fetched a camcorder, and then taped a message for Emma.

Patrick confessed that he had never imagined that he'd be a father, but that had changed when he had first held his precious daughter. Patrick couldn't imagine his life without Emma; he wondered who would laugh at his jokes. "Because clearly Mommy wouldn't," Patrick added as he glanced at Robin. Robin turned the camera on her, and then jokingly replied, "Clearly Daddy isn't funny."

Patrick disagreed, so he decided to tell a joke to prove his point. "Why did the tomato turn red?" Patrick asked. Robin shrugged, and then asked, "Why?"

"Because it saw the salad dressing," Patrick answered. Robin feigned confusion as she claimed that she didn't understand the joke. Patrick continued his message by thanking Emma for holding his hand, even when they weren't crossing the street, and for holding onto his ears during the shoulder rides.

Patrick admitted, his favorite thing was when Emma rubbed the fabric of his shirt between her fingers, while he read Emma bedtime stories. Patrick said it made him feel as if he were Emma's security blanket. Patrick couldn't believe that Emma was another year older.

He realized that she would grow up one day, but he vowed that she would always be his baby girl. "I love you, sweetheart," Patrick said in conclusion. Robin then taped her own message to their daughter. Robin insisted that Emma would always shine, and agreed that Emma was daddy's girl.

Robin assured Emma that Emma was beautiful, but Robin wanted Emma to remember that Emma was also kind, compassionate, and funny. According to Robin, there wasn't anything that Emma couldn't do. Robin and Patrick sat close together on the sofa, and then told Emma how much they loved her. They wished Emma a happy birthday, and then kissed each other.

Later, Robin and Patrick agreed that they would probably regret kissing on camera, because Emma would likely be embarrassed by it one day. However, Robin thanked Patrick for being the best husband and father that she could have hoped for. Robin had no idea how she had gotten so lucky. Patrick felt the same way, but as he hugged his wife, he appeared troubled.

11/9 At the Drake residence, Patrick arrived home in bare feet. He quietly set his wet shoes by the front door just as Robin flipped on the light. Robin was curious where Patrick had been, so he explained that he hadn't been able to sleep. Patrick claimed that he had gone out for a walk, and then ended up getting caught in the neighbor's sprinklers.

Robin chuckled, and then admitted that she had been concerned when she had realized that Patrick was gone. Patrick assured her that everything was fine, and then began to talk about second chances, and how good their life was. Patrick admitted that he didn't want anything to get between them, so Robin promised him that nothing would. Robin hugged Patrick, but his expression seemed troubled.

They snuggled together on the sofa as Robin mentioned that Emma would be awake soon, and wanting birthday cake for breakfast. Robin confessed that she didn't want to go to work, so Patrick suggested that they take a mini vacation. Robin didn't think that it was the right time, but Patrick argued that there would never be a good time for them to get away. He reminded Robin that tomorrow wasn't guaranteed for anyone. Robin agreed, so she decided that a short vacation with Patrick and Emma was in order. Patrick smiled with delight and then began to tickle Robin. Her laughter suddenly died when she realized that she had opened the cut on her arm.

Patrick offered to patch Robin's arm up, but Robin insisted on going to the hospital, because she didn't want to risk exposing Patrick and Emma to her HIV. Patrick reminded Robin that he and Emma lived with it everyday, but Robin explained that she was still rattled by Lisa's threat to infect Patrick with the tainted blood. Robin promised that she would be back before Emma woke up, so she suggested that Patrick read the newspaper if he couldn't sleep. After Robin left, Patrick fetched the newspaper. He read the headline, which was about Lisa's disappearance.

At the hospital, Steve and Matt were surprised when Robin approached the nurses' station. They claimed that they had asked Epiphany not to call Robin, because they were confident that they could have found someone to cover for them while they slept off the drinks that they had consumed. Robin had no idea what Steve and Matt were talking about, so they admitted that they had been drinking at Jake's. Matt explained that he hadn't known that he'd been scheduled to be on duty, because the work schedules were out of whack.

Robin confessed that everything had seemed off kilter since she had left the boat. Steve assured Robin that Robin wouldn't have to worry about Lisa anymore. Officer Padilla walked up to inform the doctors that no one would have to worry about Lisa, because Lisa's body had washed ashore. According to Officer Padilla, the coroner had indicated that Lisa's death hadn't been accidental.

11/14 Mac caught up with Patrick and Robin at GH. He had questions about Lisa. Robin wanted to know why Mac was so fixated on the people on the boat as suspects. Mac said that the coroner's report put Lisa on the boat at the time of her death. Robin insisted that no one on board would have killed Lisa. Mac said the police were searching the boat for the murder weapon. Robin said that it had probably been tossed overboard. Officer Padilla arrived and told Mac that the coroner had confirmed that a cast iron tool had probably been the weapon. Robin remembered holding a wrench but did not say anything to Mac.

When Mac wanted to ask more questions later, Robin told him that she and Patrick were taking Emma out of town for a family weekend. Patrick left to go on rounds, but Mac wanted to know if Robin was holding something back, because she had the same look on her face that she had sported as a teen when she was hiding something. Robin said that she was not holding back. Robin told Mac that she did not like reliving her experiences with a crazy person, and she resented Mac treating her and Patrick as murder suspects.

Across the way, Robin noted Maggie taking a pair of gloves from a drawer at the nursing station and excused herself from Mac. She watched Maggie draw faces on the fingers, put them on her hands and then tell a little girl in a wheelchair that the finger puppets were friends who would help her heal. Robin interrupted. She told Maggie that she could not use hospital supplies without permission.

The little girl's attendant said that when the little girl had refused to wear the gloves, which were needed to heal a rash on her hands, Maggie had found a way to entice the little girl to wear the gloves. Robin was still cold when she introduced herself as Chief of Staff and did not warm up when Maggie said the little girl had been misdiagnosed.

Just as Robin was about to climb on her high horse, Steve walked over and introduced Maggie as the new pediatrician that he had hired. Robin thawed a little, but was firm when she told Maggie that she could not practice medicine until she had filled out the paperwork for HR.

11/17 Monica demanded to know who Maggie was, so Maggie introduced herself. Robin walked up, and then clarified that Maggie shouldn't be involved in Aiden's case, because Maggie had failed to fill out the proper paperwork to activate her employment with the hospital. Maggie argued that Aiden's treatment shouldn't be delayed because of a technicality. Monica accused Maggie of being melodramatic, and then reminded everyone that Aiden was asymptomatic.

Monica insisted that the police should be called, but Robin argued that Monica was not objective. Maggie suggested that there wouldn't be any harm in examining Aiden, but Robin feared that the hospital might face a lawsuit. Maggie kept pushing, until Robin finally relented. Monica was stunned that Robin had let Maggie walk all over Robin. Robin dismissed Monica's concerns, because she knew that Monica was angry with Elizabeth. "Sometimes I forget how much," Monica admitted as she stormed off.

Robin turned to Steve for advice. Steve assured Robin that Maggie was the best in the field. Robin sensed that she was missing something, but she didn't have time to press Steve for more answers, because Aiden was more important. Robin decided to oversee Maggie's examination, so she walked away.

Later, Maggie and Robin noticed that Aiden had developed more bruises. They discussed the possibility that he might have leukemia, but Maggie suspected that it was something else. Robin returned to the waiting area. Robin revealed that Aiden had been presenting with more bruising, and that they were running tests on the child. Robin revealed that Luke might have saved Aiden's life by rushing the little boy to the hospital.

11/18 Patrick burst into the Zacchara’s and threatened Anthony and demanded to know why Anthony had manipulated Lisa into giving Anthony power of attorney. Anthony suggested that Patrick might have been feeling guilt for his own part in Lisa's meltdown. Anthony taunted Patrick, who physically assaulted him. Johnny rushed in and broke them apart, stating that if it would be anyone, Johnny would be the one to strangle his father.

Dante walked in, and Patrick demanded that Anthony be arrested for having unleashed Lisa on the city. Dante replied that he had no grounds to make an arrest, so Patrick stormed out. Anthony exited, which left Dante to question Johnny about the girls at Vaughn's who'd been roughed up. Johnny said he'd hired extra security and suggested that Dante should keep an eye on Olivia. Dante pointed out that Johnny was at the top of the suspect list in the shooting.

Patrick returned and told Robin that Anthony had been responsible for having revived Lisa and that Anthony had done it to pay Patrick back for having prevented him from killing Jason. Robin hoped that Patrick's confrontation with Anthony wouldn't make things worse.

Dante got a call that let him know the murder weapon had been found. Lisa had been killed with a wrench. Separately, Steve and Maggie each read the "Dead In the Water" headline in the Port Charles Press. Both looked overly concerned.

11/28 At the Drake home, Patrick reported to Robin that he had tucked Emma in. Robin apologized for bailing early on Thanksgiving dinner, and he presented her with a slice of pie. She worried that everyone had thought she had been rude, but he assured her otherwise. She complained of a headache, but he knew there was more going on with her.

Robin lamented that she hadn't been able to put together the perfect Thanksgiving, and she worried that Emma had been disappointed. Patrick asked Robin to tell the truth, because he'd seen the look on her face when Maxie had mentioned Lisa. Robin admitted that even the slightest memory trigger caused her to flash back to the night on the boat. He contended that Lisa was gone, but Robin maintained that she couldn't forget, and she suspected that he couldn't, either.

Patrick explained that Lisa's plan to infect him with HIV hadn't made sense, but Robin thought that she couldn't live with herself if she were ever responsible for Patrick or Emma getting hurt. Patrick urged Robin not to let Lisa win, but Robin felt like Lisa already had. Patrick refused to let Lisa hold them hostage, and he wanted to move forward, for their sakes as well as for Emma's.

Robin said she was trying, but it was hard, and he implored her to let him in. She wondered why she was suddenly so frightened of transmitting the HIV virus. He said that the fear Lisa had instilled wouldn't be there forever, because they wouldn't be married with a daughter if they had lived in fear. He swore that things would soon be back to normal, and he suggested that they speed up their progress. He gently kissed her, but she pulled away and excused herself to take a shower.

DVD #15B Later, Patrick reported that Emma had finally fallen asleep. Robin reminded him that the police wanted their clothing from the night of the boat trip, but Patrick said that Mac hadn't wanted to ruin the holiday by asking for the garments that evening. She remembered being excited to wear that particular dress, and she declared her desire to burn it. He apologized for being insensitive earlier, but she claimed that she was just really tired.

Robin and Patrick lay in bed and marveled about everything they had to be thankful for. He requested that they keep Christmas simple, and he suggested that she accept his birthday offer and accompany him to Paris to celebrate the New Year. She preferred to stay home, and he griped that she was giving Lisa power. Robin explained that she didn't want to disrupt things while they were getting their lives back. He agreed and put his arm around her, but she complained that she was uncomfortable. He wanted to look at her arm wound, but she told him to go to sleep. He rolled away from her, clearly disappointed.

11/29 At the hospital, in the Stone Cates AIDS wing, Robin stared at a picture of her and Stone. Later, Robin returned home, and then slipped into bed. Patrick was curious where Robin had been. Robin claimed that she had been jotting down some notes, while things had been fresh in her mind. Patrick reminded Robin that she didn't have to lie to him; he knew that she had left the house. Robin tried to change the subject by talking about Lisa.

Patrick agreed, so Robin revealed that every time she closed her eyes, she saw Lisa's face. Robin admitted that she sometimes dreamed about real events, but at other times she dreamed of Lisa pleading her case to everyone, while Robin's repeated warnings went unheeded. Patrick conceded that Lisa had been a convincing liar. Robin wondered if it were true that comatose people could hear what was said around them.

Patrick reminded Robin that there was convincing evidence that it was possible. Robin imagined that it was awful to be trapped in one's body, but not being able to respond when loved ones spoke to them. Patrick reminded his wife that Lisa was dead, and no longer able to hurt them. Robin feared that Lisa would always haunt them, but Patrick insisted that Lisa had been a product of Lisa's own making, not theirs, so they shouldn't feel responsible for what had happened to Lisa.

Robin argued that Lisa could have been a product of Lisa's environment, how Lisa had been raised, and Lisa's imperfections. Patrick tried to lighten the mood by suggesting that Robin didn't have any imperfections. Robin disagreed; she was HIV-positive. Robin insisted that Lisa had known Robin's deepest fear, that Robin might infect Patrick and Emma with HIV.

Patrick argued that Lisa had wanted to mess with their heads, so they shouldn't give Lisa the satisfaction of letting Lisa succeed. Robin reminded her husband that people got sick, and sometimes those people died. Patrick held Robin, and then quietly confessed that he knew that it was the anniversary of Stone's death.

Robin felt bad for making Patrick feel as if Stone had been the love of her life. Patrick assured her that he knew that she'd had a life before she had met him, but Robin insisted that her life was with Patrick and Emma, so she shouldn't have made Patrick feel as if he hadn't been important to her.

Patrick promised Robin that he didn't hold anything against her, and that he carried a lot of guilt about everything that had happened with Lisa. Robin decided that she didn't want to discuss Lisa anymore, so Patrick respected his wife's wishes. She was startled when he revealed that he knew that she had gone to the AIDS wing.

Robin confessed that she had wanted to go somewhere else, but she had been too tired to go. Patrick wondered if he could help, but Robin explained that it was something that she had to do on her own. Patrick realized that it was in regard to Stone. "Yes," Robin confirmed.

Robin pointed out that Stone had died at the age of nineteen, so he hadn't had the opportunity to live, but she had. Patrick wanted to understand what Robin was feeling, but Robin insisted that she never wanted Patrick to feel what she felt, or to go through what she had gone through. Robin got out of bed, and then began to pace the room, so Patrick urged Robin to go where she needed to go, before Emma woke up.

Later, Patrick carried Emma to the living room. Emma had heard her mother leave, so Patrick suggested that he and his daughter cuddle on the sofa together. Emma nodded, so Patrick moved the evidence bags, containing the clothing that he and Robin had worn on the night of Lisa's murder, to the coffee table, and then snuggled up with Emma. After Emma fell asleep, Patrick carried his daughter to bed, and then returned to the living room to stare at the bags of evidence.

Robin stood on the bridge, where Stone had once gone bungee jumping, and where Robin had scattered his ashes. Robin confessed that she needed Stone, because she was desperate for his advice. Robin admitted that she had always been a terrible liar, so she hated lying to Patrick. However, she insisted that she couldn't tell him her secret. "It's just better that he thinks I was at the AIDS wing to feel close to you," Robin added.

Robin noted that it had been nice to see Stone's name on a plaque at the wing, and knowing that people were being helped because of Stone, but it still hadn't done justice to Stone. Robin insisted that Stone had been the warmest and most beautiful person that she had known. Robin's eyes filled with tears as she recalled that Stone had wanted to make every second of his life count. Robin acknowledged that they had made advances in medicine, but people had become complacent about HIV.

According to Robin, people thought that they could just take a pill, to make the deadly virus go away, if they contracted HIV. Robin wished that Stone could tell people that it wasn't that easy, and to urge doctors to fight for a cure. Robin thought that had been her purpose in life. "But it's just not going to happen," Robin sadly admitted. Robin tearfully realized that there would be so much that she wouldn't get to see.

11/30 At the hospital, Patrick was surprised when he didn't see any doctors or nurses at the nurses' station. He decided to set Emma on a chair in the waiting room, so that he could find someone to help them. Moments later, Maggie walked up. Maggie introduced herself to Patrick, and then immediately struck up a conversation with Emma. After an examination, Maggie assured Patrick that Emma's stomachache, which had passed, might have been an attempt to get Patrick's attention.

Later, Emma sat in a wheelchair, while Maggie pushed Emma around the waiting area as if Emma were in a race car. Patrick smiled, but suggested that the hospital wasn't the right place for games like that. Maggie argued that they should be allowed to have some fun, and then began to complain about the Chief of Staff, whom Maggie called "an old battle axe." Patrick picked up Emma, and then insisted that Robin was good at her job. "You know her," Maggie realized. Patrick revealed that Robin was his wife, and then left.

On the bridge, Robin admitted that she could hear Stone, so she knew that he wouldn't want her to be "this way, especially now." However, she just didn't know if she was as strong as he had been, or if she could face what was headed her way. Robin sat down on the bridge, and then talked about her Thanksgiving. According to Robin, Maxie had arrived with a huge bouquet of flowers. Robin admitted that she had needed the flowers, and her family around her.

Robin then changed the subject by revealing that the old bridge had been torn down years before, because it had been unsafe. However, an anonymous donor had paid to have it rebuilt, on the same spot, the year before. She suspected that the donor had been either Jason or Sonny. Robin explained that if Sonny had paid for the new bridge, then Sonny had done it for Stone, but if Jason had paid for it, then Jason had done it for Robin.

Robin picked up a bag, which had been filled with the petals of the white roses that Maxie had given to Robin. Robin recalled standing on the bridge, and scattering Stone's ashes after he had died, so she wanted to commemorate the anniversary of Stone's death by sprinkling the rose petals in the water. Robin confessed that she imagined that the petals would make their way to Stone, which she was certain would make him smile.

Robin then talked about Brenda and Sonny's wedding, and their divorce a few months later. "Sometimes, love isn't enough," Robin admitted. Mac walked up as Robin stared forlornly at the water. Mac revealed that he knew the significance of the date, so he had gone to Robin's house to check on her. According to Mac, Patrick had told him where to find Robin. Mac sensed that Robin wanted to be alone, so he offered to wait for her by the car.

Robin asked him to stay to help her honor the special people who had lost their lives too soon. Mac assured her that he would walk through fire for her, but he was concerned, because it seemed like the anniversary of Stone's death had hit Robin harder than usual. Robin explained that she had been overwhelmed with her job, and what had happened with Lisa. Robin insisted that Lisa had been like a black cloud, in comparison to Stone, who had been a bright light.

Robin had no idea why things had ended up as they had. Mac admitted that he had learned long before that life wasn't fair. Robin wondered if he were referring to Stone giving her HIV. Mac assured Robin that he had made peace with that a long time in the past. Robin seemed relieved, and then confessed that she regretted that she had let Lisa win by destroying Robin's life and marriage. Mac seemed confused, because Robin and Patrick were still together. Robin began to cry as she explained, "Uncle Mac, you have no idea."

Mac feared that Robin might say something incriminating, so he suggested that perhaps he shouldn't know everything. He explained that it was difficult to put his badge aside when Robin and Maxie were suspects in a murder investigation. Robin insisted that it had been self-defense. Mac was startled by Robin's remark, so he warned her to be careful about what she said to him. Robin reminded her uncle that Lisa had terrorized everyone on the boat, so if someone had killed Lisa, then it had been self-defense. Mac explained that self-defense didn't work like that.

Mac agreed that Lisa had been a bad person, but at the end of the day, someone had to pay for murdering her. Mac admitted that he didn't want anyone on the boat to have been responsible for Lisa's murder, so Robin suggested that Mac look elsewhere for a suspect. Mac thought that they should change the subject, so Robin urged her uncle to focus on something else besides his work. Mac realized that he needed to get a life. "It would be nice to see that before I die," Robin quietly admitted.

"Robin?" Mac asked with concern. Robin's eyes filled with tears as she sadly shook her head to his unspoken question. Mac hugged Robin as he vowed that he would not let her get sick. "I won't allow it," he insisted. Robin pulled out of his embrace, and then sprinkled the rose petals in the water. Afterwards, Mac decided to give Robin a few minutes alone, so he went to wait by the car. Robin pulled on her glove, and then heard Stone's voice tell her, "I see you, Robin. I see." Robin smiled as one of the rose petals drifted into the water.

12/1 At the nurses' station, Patrick instructed a nurse to take care of something for him, but he wanted to make certain that Robin was kept out of the loop. Nearby, Robin glanced at the front page of the newspaper. Below the caption, which read, "Bad Medicine," were pictures of each of the hospital staff members who had been on the chartered boat during Lisa's final reign of terror. Robin called Monica to leave a message that she would be out of town for a few days, so Robin wouldn't be able to attend the next board meeting.

After Robin ended the call, Maxie walked up to the nurses' station. Maxie was frantic, because Matt had gone missing, and hadn't returned her calls. Robin was certain that Matt was fine. Patrick overheard the exchange between the cousins, so he revealed that Matt had cancelled all of his appointments at 3:00 a.m. Maxie's concern grew, so Robin checked the computer to see when Matt had logged into the system last.

According to Robin, Matt had logged onto the hospital computer at 3:02 a.m. Maxie insisted that it didn't make any sense, so she feared that something was wrong. After Maxie left, Patrick admitted that it sounded as if Matt was up to something that he didn't want anyone, including Maxie, to know about.

Moments later, Monica walked up. Monica was concerned about the bad press that the hospital had been getting as a result of Lisa's murder. Patrick admitted that he hated it too. "Okay, then could you please explain this?" Monica asked as she handed a file to Patrick. Monica questioned why Patrick had consulted with Jim Sabian, a patient who had sustained a serious head injury during a motorcycle accident, but had passed the surgery off to another doctor.

Robin was surprised by the news, so Patrick reminded Robin that he had just been following Robin's mission statement to pass the glory around. Patrick added that he might not be available to operate for when Jim's surgery was scheduled. Robin wondered why, but Patrick's pager went off, so Patrick seized the opportunity to flee without answering her question.

Later, Maxie returned to the hospital to find out if Patrick had heard from Matt. Patrick revealed that he hadn't talked to his brother, but Patrick was certain that Matt would contact Maxie soon. After Patrick walked away, Maxie dialed the last number that Matt had called. It had been to the hospital's forensics department.

Elsewhere in the hospital, Robin looked at the results of lab work that she had done on herself. Moments later, Robin spotted Monica, so Robin asked if Monica had received the message about the board meeting. Monica admitted that she had just left a board meeting. Robin wondered why she hadn't been told about it. "Because it was about you," Monica revealed.

On the chartered boat, Mac and Ronnie reviewed the evidence that they had collected, while Dante eavesdropped from the hallway. Ronnie admitted that each of the passengers was a suspect.

12/2 Monica told Robin that there had been an emergency board meeting at which Robin was relieved of duty as chief of staff. Patrick balked. Robin wasn't surprised, but Steve was bothered by the decision. Patrick berated Monica, stating it was ironic that Monica would pass judgment on someone else's ethics.

Monica cited Robin's decision to allow Maggie to treat Aiden before she had become a staff member as one of the board's reasons to suspend Robin's duties. Patrick was angry to find out that Monica would assume the chief of staff role in the interim. Robin looked at the situation as an opportunity to take a much-needed break and offered Monica her support. Robin left. Patrick and Steve continued to hammer away at Monica, who spat, "At the moment, I am the only one of the three of us that hasn't had sex with Lisa Niles!"

12/5 At GH, Patrick and Robin waited for Elizabeth to return to her room. Patrick encouraged Robin to fight for her job. Robin said that what was important to her was spending as much time as she could with Patrick and Emma. Robin had watery eyes when she told Patrick that she had not been careful and had subsequently made a mistake.

Patrick thought that she was referring to the murder of Lisa Niles and told her that he had taken care of everything and that he had not given to police all the clothes that he and Robin had been wearing on the night of Lisa's death. Robin told Patrick that he should not have tampered with evidence. She worried that he could go to jail as a result.

Patrick said that Lisa had deserved to die because of all the lives that she had adversely impacted. Robin said that she wanted to forget about Lisa and focus on giving Emma the best Christmas ever. Patrick said that he would protect Robin and keep her safe. Patrick told Robin that he would not let anything happen to her.

Back in Elizabeth's room, Patrick apologized to Elizabeth for recommending Lisa to the hospital, which had ultimately resulted in Elizabeth's near drowning. Elizabeth assured Patrick that it was not his fault. When Patrick and Robin went out in the hall, he insisted to Robin that it was his fault and that Elizabeth was a patient because of him. Patrick said he had a need to make everything right.

Robin begged Patrick to promise that he would do no more evidence tampering. Before she could secure that promise, Epiphany interrupted and told Patrick that he was needed in the OR. Robin went up to the mezzanine. As she looked over the hospital, she was holding her own medical file and had tears in her eyes.

12/9 At the nurses' station, Patrick spotted Matt. Patrick demanded to know where Matt had been, but Mac arrived to request that the brothers, Robin, and Steve accompany him to the scene of Lisa's murder. Everyone balked, but Mac refused to take no for an answer.

Everyone who'd been summoned ended up on the boat where Lisa had been murdered. Mac reintroduced everyone to First Officer Briggs. Dante pointed out that everyone who'd been on the boat that night was there, with the exception of Elizabeth, who'd been thrown overboard before Lisa's death, and the deceased Captain McCloud. Johnny, Anthony, and Spinelli, however, were there because they'd been nearby that night.

Mac presented the murder weapon, the wrench the police had found. Dante showed them Robin's watch, which had stopped at 9:49, during the final struggle between Robin and Lisa. Mac noted that Lisa had given Anthony power of attorney, so perhaps Anthony had worked out an arrangement with Lisa, but it had gone wrong. Dante speculated that Johnny might have tried to stop Lisa after getting wind of Lisa's deadly plans.

Ronnie pointed out that Steve had had a romantic relationship with Lisa, so Delores seized the opportunity to question Steve about the scratch he'd had on his face the night that Lisa had been murdered. Ronnie hinted that Olivia's motive to kill Lisa had been jealousy, but Olivia assured Ronnie that Steve's past didn't concern her. Dante quickly moved on to Matt by reminding everyone that Matt had been drinking.

Matt freely admitted that he had been "drunk as a skunk," while Spinelli sat nearby, envisioning each scenario of Lisa's murder that the police had presented. Spinelli immediately sprang to Maxie's defense when the focus fell on her. Mac warned Spinelli that Spinelli was just as much of a suspect as everyone else in the room, because Spinelli had been near the boat too.

Maxie started to defend Spinelli, but Matt cut to the chase by conceding that everyone in the room had had motive to kill Lisa. However, Patrick added, the police did not have any evidence. Mac assured them that they did, and then reviewed the physical evidence with the suspects. Everyone was able to provide an innocent explanation for the fingerprints, hair, and fibers, so Matt argued that Mac didn't have enough to charge anyone. Mac was forced to agree, and then let everyone leave.

After the suspects had left, Mac, Dante, Ronnie, and Delores went over what they'd just witnessed. They had hoped to rattle the suspects' cages, so that someone would have confessed to the murder. Delores reminded them of the new evidence, the textile fiber, which could pay off by leading them to the killer.

Patrick and Robin returned to the hospital. Patrick was annoyed that Mac had badgered his own flesh and blood, Maxie and Robin. Robin replied, "Sometimes you need to hurt someone in order to protect them." Maybe Mac had been trying to shield them, she suggested. He needed to grill them as hard as anyone else so as not to show bias.

12/12 At GH, Robin carried a file into the conference room, Maggie walked into the conference room and found Robin crying. She apologized and quickly walked out again. Robin followed Maggie out and said that she was dealing with a lot of stress. Maggie was very sympathetic and said that if Robin were a three-year old, Maggie would make her a hand puppet out of a surgical glove and give Robin a lollipop. Robin smiled and said it might work anyway. Maggie said it had on Emma.

Robin realized that Maggie was the doctor that Emma had liked so much when Patrick had rushed Emma to the hospital with a slight fever. Robin said Patrick had not mentioned the doctor's name. Maggie replied that she had also apologized for calling Robin a "battle axe." Robin said that Patrick had not mentioned that either. Maggie apologized again. Robin smiled, and they relaxed around each other. Maggie handed Robin a lollipop and said that she wished she could cure whatever was in the file that Robin was holding.

Robin burst into the interrogation room to see Jason, who demanded to know what was wrong. Robin told Jason that she needed his help.

12/13 At the police station, At the hospital, Patrick was on his cell phone with a toy store, trying to reserve a special toy for Emma. Maggie overheard Patrick's call, so she warned him that Emma wouldn't like the toy. Patrick ended the call, and then reminded Maggie that she had only met Emma once. He was curious why Maggie thought that she was an expert in what his daughter would like. "Fine," Maggie replied as she turned to walk away.

Patrick thought that Maggie should finish what she had started, so Maggie explained that Emma had struck her as an imaginative child with a nurturing nature. Maggie insisted that Emma would prefer a toy that appealed to Emma's personality. Patrick handed the toy store's magazine to Maggie, as he invited her to choose a toy for Emma. Maggie flipped through the pages, and then spotted something that she thought suited Emma.

Patrick looked at the toy, and then agreed that it had been an excellent suggestion. Patrick decided to ask Maggie for help with Robin's Christmas gift, but Maggie explained that she was better at picking out presents for children, not adults. However, Maggie seized the opportunity to thank Patrick for not telling Robin about Maggie's unkind remarks regarding the chief of staff.

Maggie admitted that she had misjudged Robin. Patrick was surprised when Maggie confided that she'd had an interesting conversation with Robin. Patrick was curious if Maggie and Robin had talked about him. Maggie chuckled, and then accused him of being egotistical. Patrick readily agreed, so Maggie admitted that Robin had mentioned that Patrick was a "cocky surgeon." However, Maggie had seen a different side of Patrick when Maggie had treated Emma.

Maggie acknowledged that Patrick was clearly a loving father. Patrick explained that family was the most important thing to him, and that he would do anything to protect Robin and Emma. Maggie admitted that she could see that he was serious. Patrick added that he wanted his wife and daughter to be happy. "'Tis the season," Maggie remarked as she started to walk away. Patrick followed Maggie, as he confessed that in the past, he would take off for the beach during the holiday season.

Maggie smiled as she guessed that Patrick had spent his tropical vacations picking up women. Patrick explained that times had changed, because all he wanted was for his wife to have the best Christmas ever. Patrick revealed that Robin's birthday was in October, so he needed time to recharge his creative batteries, because he had set the bar very high on Robin's birthday. He had no idea how to top her birthday gift, but he wanted Robin to know how much he appreciated her, and to trust that things would only get better. Patrick smiled as an idea began germinate.

Later, Patrick wrapped up a phone call, and then bragged to Maggie that he was good. Maggie was certain that Robin would appreciate Patrick's Christmas gift more than the lollipop that Maggie had given to her. Patrick's brows drew together as he replied, "That's random." Maggie explained that she handed out lollipops to all of her patients who cried. Patrick immediately grew concerned when he realized that Maggie was trying to tell him that Robin had been crying.

Robin entered the interrogation room, apologizing for bothering Jason when he had more pressing concerns than her problems to deal with. Jason advised Robin to relax, and then asked her what she needed. "Can you help me disappear?" Robin asked. Jason covered up his surprise by wondering how long Robin wanted to disappear. "For forever. Well, I mean for however long this lasts," Robin replied.

Jason was confused when Robin explained that she was doing it for her family, and those who had believed in her. Jason wanted to know what was going on, but Robin evaded the question by talking in circles, and then admitting that she had thought that things would be better if Lisa were dead. Robin continued to ramble about Lisa's coma, Anthony's role in Lisa's recovery, and Lisa's deadly plot.

Jason's thoughts began to drift when Robin mentioned Patrick's determination to protect Robin from harm. Jason recalled Sam suggesting that his anger might be a side effect of his surgery. Robin eventually noticed that Jason had been staring off into space, so she called out his name. Robin became worried when Jason didn't immediately respond.

Jason quickly snapped back to the present, and then assured her that he was fine. He explained that he had become distracted with thoughts of Franco, because of something that she had said. Robin suspected that there was more to it, so she gave him a cursory examination, and then asked if he'd had any headaches recently. Jason brushed off her concerns, but admitted that he'd had some headaches.

Robin wondered how bad Jason's headaches had been, but Jason refused to elaborate. He explained that he had been furious about Franco, and that there were times when the anger took over. Robin empathized, because she had felt the same way when she had woken up to find herself tied to a chair in a stateroom with Lisa looming over her. Robin revealed that Lisa had intended to inject Patrick with Robin's infected blood, which hadn't made much sense to Robin at the time, because Robin's viral loads had been almost non-existent.

Jason picked up on Robin's past-tense reference, so he asked her to clarify. Robin reminded Jason of her decision to go on the cocktail of medications to treat her HIV. Robin assured him that she had always known how important it had been to stick to the schedule and drug protocol. Jason wondered what her viral load was at that moment. Robin quietly confessed that the medications hadn't been working for months. Jason was shocked.

Robin explained that she couldn't prove it, but she suspected that Lisa had replaced the life-saving medications with placebos. Jason wondered when Robin had found out. "The day after Lisa died," Robin admitted. Robin explained that her body had built up a resistance to certain medications used in the drug cocktail, so she had started another drug protocol. However, the new cocktail hadn't improved her viral load, so it appeared that she might face a slow death.

Jason reminded Robin that she couldn't be certain that the medications wouldn't start to work, but Robin seemed resigned to her fate. She regretted all the time that she had wasted on work, instead of focusing on her daughter and husband. Jason was curious what Robin had told Patrick about her situation, so Robin admitted that she hadn't told anyone. Jason was stunned; he insisted that Patrick deserved to know, because Patrick was her husband.

Robin argued that she was trying to spare her husband and daughter the disappointment of false hope. She wanted her family to have the most amazing Christmas ever, because it would be their last. Robin intended to disappear after Christmas. Jason reminded Robin that she didn't know for certain that she would die, so there might be a chance that the new medications might work.

Robin explained that the doctors had started talking to her about options, which she knew did not bode well for her. She recalled that Alan, Jason's father, had talked about options when Stone had been near the end. Jason confided that Robin had taught him that "sadness comes from loss," because of what she had gone through when Stone had died. He couldn't understand why Robin would put her family through that kind of pain, without giving them the opportunity to say goodbye.

Robin insisted that it would be better for Patrick and Emma if their loss were sudden, rather than prolonged. Jason had doubts about that, so Robin wondered if Jason would have felt better if Jake had wasted away from a disease, rather than dying suddenly. Jason assured her that he wouldn't have wanted Jake to suffer, but Jason would have welcomed the opportunity to spend whatever time he could have with his son, to say goodbye.

Robin promised that she intended to say goodbye to her family, but in her own way. She wanted to have a wonderful Christmas celebration with her family before she disappeared. She implored Jason to send her somewhere where no one could find her. "I'm sorry. I can't do that," Jason quietly told her.

12/14 In the interrogation room, Jason assured Robin that he wanted to help her, but he didn't think that it would be fair to anyone if Robin were to leave without a word. Robin wondered what was fair about AIDS. She reminded Jason that Stone had died young, and that the deadly virus had ravaged Africa. Robin insisted that it would be best for her family if she were to disappear. Jason disagreed, because he believed that Patrick and Emma needed Robin.

Robin explained that she had planned to grow old with her husband, so she wasn't eager to leave him or Emma. Jason suggested that Robin could still grow old with Patrick, but Robin didn't agree. Robin reminded Jason that she was more than capable of reading her own test results, so she knew exactly how grim her situation was.

Jason accused Robin of giving up before the new drug protocol had a chance to work. He urged her to talk to Patrick, because Jason believed that Patrick had a right to know what was going on. Robin was curious if Jason would want to know if Sam were sick. Without hesitation, Jason insisted that he would want to be there for Sam if she were going through the same thing as Robin. Robin conceded that Jason was the worst patient, next to Robin. She was curious what Jason would do if their roles had been reversed. Robin didn't wait for a response, because she was certain that Jason would try to protect Sam by walking away. Jason warned Robin that Patrick would end up blaming himself, but Robin insisted that disappearing was the right thing to do. "What about Emma?" Jason asked.

Robin recalled being told that her parents had perished when she hadn't been much older than Emma. Robin admitted that she had been sad, but all of her memories of Robert and Anna had been good. Jason was curious if Robin feared that Emma might not see Robin in the same light. Robin ignored the question as she asked Jason how he had been able to give up Jake, so that another man could raise his son.

Jason explained that he had tried to do the right thing by Jake. "Exactly," Robin replied. Robin explained that she was trying to do the same thing for Emma. Jason wasn't swayed; he urged Robin to talk to Patrick, because Patrick deserved to know the truth. Robin insisted that she wanted her family to remember the good times, instead of seeing her slowly waste away. She confided that she'd already had a taste of what it would be like over Thanksgiving.

According to Robin, she had needed to excuse herself from the dinner table, because she had been so fatigued that she had to lie down. Robin regretted the disappointment that she had seen on Emma's face. Robin revealed that it was the reason that she was doubly determined to make certain that Christmas was perfect for everyone, especially Emma. Jason reached for Robin's hand, and then reminded her of the time that he had found her on the bridge after a young girl had died from AIDS.

Jason recalled that Robin had warned him that it was only a matter of time before it was her turn, and how she didn't want to have to go through that. Robin remembered Jason taking her hand, and then standing on the other side of the bridge, ready to jump to their deaths. He pointed out all the things that they would have missed out on if they had jumped, including Emma's birth. "It's too soon to jump," Jason quietly told Robin.

Robin was curious if Jason had been the anonymous donor who had paid to rebuild the bridge. "Yes," Jason admitted. Robin wasn't surprised, so she asked him what he thought about the new bridge. "It sucks," Jason confessed. Robin laughed, and then suggested that perhaps Jason should be more specific about what he wanted the next time. Jason argued that it was better "this way." "You can't bring back something that's gone," Jason added.

Robin agreed, but she insisted that they could remember things as they had been, and be grateful for what they'd had. Jason confessed that the things that she had taught him had changed his life. "Me too," Robin replied. Robin admitted that she had thought that her life was over after Stone had died, because she had felt as if she didn't have a future. Jason assured Robin that she had one. Robin smiled sadly as she talked about Patrick being the love of her life.

Jason suggested that if Robin believed that then she would talk to Patrick about what was going on with her. Robin wanted Jason to respect her decision, and privacy, by promising her that he wouldn't tell Patrick. Jason assured her that he wouldn't; she needed to do that. Seconds later, Carly barged in. Carly stopped short when she saw Robin in the interrogation room. Carly demanded to know what Robin was doing there, and then proceeded to argue with Robin until Jason was forced to demand that they both "shut up."

Carly and Robin were startled, so Carly wondered if Jason were okay. Jason assured Carly that he was fine, but he didn't want to see Carly and Robin argue. Robin was curious if Jason had felt the same burst of anger when he had attacked Pres Floyd. "Yes," Jason admitted, prompting Robin to wonder if Jason's vision had ever become blurry.

Carly immediately became concerned as Robin continued to pepper Jason with questions, and then advised Jason to schedule a checkup with Patrick. Jason insisted that he was too busy to go to the hospital to see Patrick, but Carly agreed with Robin that Jason should make the time.

Jason suggested that Robin was the one who needed to talk to Patrick, but Robin ignored the remark. Robin once again urged Jason to call Patrick, and then left. Afterwards, Carly demanded to know what was going on. Jason refused to tell Carly anything. Carly started to grumble about Robin, but Jason warned her to drop it. Carly explained that she was worried about Jason, because she had seen him lose his temper on several occasions, which wasn't like Jason.

At the nurses' station, Patrick questioned Maggie about why Robin had been crying. Maggie suspected that Robin had been upset about a patient, because Robin had been looking at some test results at the time. Patrick tried to call Robin, but her voicemail picked up. Patrick was uneasy, because it wasn't like Robin not to answer her phone. Maggie suggested that Robin might have been out of cell phone range, but Patrick continued to worry.

Maggie pointed out that sometimes doctors developed a personal connection with their patients that made it difficult for doctors to separate their feelings for a terminally ill patient. She talked about her own experience of losing a young man named Isaac to cancer. Patrick was certain that he would have known if Robin had been upset about a patient, so Maggie suggested that perhaps the strain of being a suspect in a murder investigation had gotten the best of Robin.

Later, Patrick was relieved when he spotted Robin as she exited the elevator. He immediately approached her to find out why she had been crying. Robin seemed resigned to answer him, but before she could say anything, Patrick's pager went off. Patrick apologized for having to leave, but he assured her that he intended to continue their conversation later.

12/15 At the hospital, Patrick tried to find out why Maggie had seen Robin crying. Patrick assumed that it had been in regards to a patient, so Robin didn't bother to correct him. Instead, Robin explained that she wanted to discuss one of Patrick's patients with him. Patrick was stunned when Robin revealed that she had visited Jason at the police station, and that she had been concerned about Jason's outbursts of rage.

Patrick was miffed because Robin had gone to see Jason, even though Robin and Jason were no longer close. Robin warned Patrick that he didn't have a say about who her friends were, and then returned to the topic of Jason's uncontrollable anger. Robin suggested that it might be a side effect of the surgery, but Patrick denied it. According to Patrick, the brain surgery had gone smoothly, so Jason's hot temper was not a result of the operation.

Robin disagreed; she insisted that she knew Jason well enough to know when something was off. Patrick reluctantly agreed to review the X-rays and records, to see if there might be an anomaly to explain Jason's bouts of anger, but he pointed out that he couldn't do an examination unless Jason made an appointment. Robin thanked her husband, and then assured him that she loved him.

12/19 At General Hospital, Robin stood at the nurses' station, looking over her own medical file. Patrick joined her. Robin said that she had to talk to him because she had to go away. Patrick asked if her reasons had to do with the patient she had been crying over when Maggie had seen her. Robin said yes. She explained that the patient's HIV protocol had stopped working, and the diagnosis was not good.

Robin said that she needed to go to an HIV conference to see if she could get some new ideas about treatment. Robin said that since she was no longer chief of staff, she was realizing all that she had been missing. Robin said that she realized that research was her passion, and she was glad that she had more time to spend with Emma and Patrick. Robin said that she really needed to help the patient's family.

Matt walked up and tried to snatch the file, but Robin held on. Patrick told Matt to leave Robin alone and learn some people skills.Matt talked gibberish about experimental procedures and women who were not honest with their husbands. Then Matt asked what the point of research was if the patient died. Robin stepped up and said that she could answer that question.

She said that doctors were the last line of defense and that they failed a lot of the time, but, she continued, doctors built on those failures and stood on the shoulders of the doctors that practiced before them. Robin said that if a doctor were really lucky, a breakthrough would happen in that doctor's lifetime. Robin said that she was a living example of the progress that had been made in the treatment of HIV.

Robin said if doctors gave up, they couldn't really expect their patients to believe in them. Matt was speechless as Robin headed off to the lab. Patrick asked Matt what was really going on. Matt told Patrick that Elizabeth had checked herself in to Shadybrook as a way to manipulate Lucky. Patrick said that it was not Matt's business to interfere with what was going on between Elizabeth and Lucky. Patrick said that there was no explaining love.

Matt responded that it was a twisted love, like Lisa had shown. Patrick said he did not want to hear about Lisa, and he was just glad that the case had been closed and Lisa's killer had been caught. Matt said it was a good thing because he had been worried that either Patrick or Robin had killed Lisa. In the lab, Robin looked at slides.

12/22 At the nurses' station, Monica walked up, as Robin was lost in thoughts about the wedding vows that Robin and Patrick had exchanged. Monica revealed that the board had decided to reinstate Robin as chief of staff, effective immediately, since Robin had been cleared of any wrongdoing in Lisa's murder. Robin appreciated the offer, but she explained that she couldn't accept, because her priorities had changed.

Monica feared that Robin had been deeply hurt by the board's decision to remove Robin as chief of staff, but Robin quickly assured Monica that it had turned out to be a good thing, because it had given Robin more time to spend with Emma. Robin insisted that Monica was the only person who was truly qualified to be chief of staff, so Monica should consider taking the position. "Thank you very much. We'll see," Monica replied.

Robin then switched gears to find out if Monica had seen Jason lately. Monica confessed that she was concerned about her son after his violent outburst on Thanksgiving; it had reminded Monica of how Jason had been following the accident. Robin revealed that she was also worried about Jason, because he'd been complaining of headaches, and seemed easily distracted.

Monica felt responsible for Jason's failure to reschedule his appointment, because she had turned to Jason for help with Elizabeth when Jason had arrived at the hospital for the initial post-op follow-up. Monica and Robin agreed that something was clearly not right with Jason, so he needed to have a CT scan. Monica hoped that Robin and Sam could persuade Jason to see a doctor, because they had more influence over him than Monica did.

Later, Robin called Brenda to ask for a favor. A short time later, Robin called a doctor to explain that Brenda had given Robin the doctor's phone number. Robin claimed that she had a patient, who had been HIV positive for sixteen years. According to Robin, the woman's drug protocol had stopped working in June, so she'd been put on a new drug regimen. However, Robin wanted a second opinion, in the event that the course of treatment failed to work.

12/23 Robin sought a medical referral from Brenda, telling her that she was inquiring on behalf of a patient. She thanked Brenda for giving her Dr. Makeba's name. Patrick walked in as Robin hung up. They finished wrapping Emma's gifts. Patrick insisted Robin open one gift, an envelope. Inside it was the deed to their new homestead. Robin broke down in tears but explained it was because she was happy. She and Patrick had each other and Emma, and everything they'd ever wanted. "It just feels too good to be true," she mused.

Robin then gave Patrick a new video recorder. Emma awoke and joined them in the living room. Patrick began to film his girls and made note that Robin was not being camera-shy, as she usually was. Robin made the point that she wanted Emma to have that memory forever. Emma fell asleep, and Robin and Patrick embraced as Dr. Makeba called. Christmas music montage.

12/27 Patrick walked up to the table, and then breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that Sam had Emma's toy. Patrick thanked Sam for finding the doll, and then explained that it was Emma's new favorite toy. Sam relaxed as Patrick insisted that he owed Sam, because Emma would have had a meltdown if the doll had been lost. According to Patrick, it was one of the lesser joys of parenting, but he wouldn't change it for the world.

Sam invited Patrick to join her, so Patrick sat down, and then ordered a coffee. He admitted that he and Robin had gone through a lot of trouble to buy the doll, so he was happy that it hadn't been lost. Sam chuckled, and then asked if Patrick and his family had had a good Christmas. Patrick confessed that it had been the best holiday he'd ever had, because Robin had been determined to make it perfect for Emma.

Patrick asked if Sam and Jason had had a good holiday, and then wondered if people had started to ask them when they planned to start having children. Patrick quickly apologized when he realized that it had been an insensitive question, because of Sam's fertility issues. Sam assured him that she hadn't been offended, but Patrick switched gears to remind Sam that Jason needed to reschedule his post-op checkup.

The waitress returned to refill their coffee cups, but Sam decided to order a cup of herbal tea instead. After the waitress left, Sam confessed that she admired Patrick and Robin, because they had been through so much with Lisa Niles, but they had managed to keep their marriage together. She was curious what the secret to their happiness was.

Patrick assured her that there wasn't a secret; he and Robin loved each other and didn't want Emma to grow up with divorced parents, so they refused to give up on their marriage. Sam noted that love was a powerful thing, but Patrick insisted honesty was the key.

Robin apologized for stopping by Jason's penthouse unannounced. She realized that Jason had turned down her request to help her disappear, but she insisted that she didn't have anyone else to turn to. Jason was stunned that Robin hadn't talked to Patrick about her HIV status, so Robin explained that she had sought a second opinion from a doctor in Africa, who was considered to be a leading specialist in the field.

According to Robin, the doctor had urged her to give the new drug protocol a chance, because "it could and should" work; however, Robin insisted that she needed to be prepared for the worst. Jason suggested that it sounded as if Robin were giving up, but Robin argued that she had been living with HIV for twenty years. Jason reminded Robin to give the new drug protocol time to work, but Robin wondered why she should bother, since it might eventually fail again. Jason refused to help Robin disappear, so he warned her not to ask him.

Robin decided to change the subject by imploring Jason to make an appointed for a checkup. Jason insisted that he was fine, and then urged Robin to tell Patrick about her deteriorating health. Robin explained that she just wanted to preserve the memory of the man that she loved, so she didn't want to put Patrick in a position where he had to carry the burden of "forcing a lightness" that Patrick didn't feel, just to keep her spirits up.

Jason was curious if Robin had considered how Patrick and Emma would feel if she were to suddenly disappear without a trace. He insisted that Robin wasn't sparing her family; she was cheating them. Robin ignored Jason's remark as she tried to persuade Jason to see Patrick about the bouts of rage, because she feared that it might be neurological.

Jason assured her that he would, when he had the time. However, he reminded Robin that his loved ones had had the opportunity to say what they had needed to, because he hadn't kept them in the dark about his situation prior to the brain surgery. According to Jason, Robin was denying Patrick and Emma the same opportunity.

Robin insisted that they had been talking about Jason, not her, so Jason accused Robin of shifting the focus. Robin argued that she simply wanted to help those she cared about, while she could, because she wanted to make certain that her loved ones were set up to live long lives.

She admitted that she was concerned that something was seriously wrong with Jason, but he insisted that he was fine. Robin feared that the episodes of rage would worsen until he hurt someone close to him, like Sam. Jason argued that nothing like that would happen, because he knew when the anger had started, and why. However, he refused to elaborate.

Robin was curious if Sam knew about Jason's bouts of uncontrollable anger. Jason's silence spoke volumes, so Robin wondered why Jason expected her to tell Patrick about her situation, but he refused to say anything to Sam about the episodes of rage. Jason agreed to have a follow-up exam if Robin promised to talk to Patrick about her own health problems.

12/28 At the penthouse, Jason offered to have a post-op check up if Robin agreed to tell Patrick that her drug protocol had stopped working. Robin wondered if Jason were truly prepared to risk his health to blackmail her. Jason explained that he would do whatever necessary to get through to her. She warned Jason that everything would change if Patrick were to find out that her life-saving cocktail of medications had failed.

Jason was unmoved, so Robin wondered why he was being so stubborn. She was curious if Jason would blame himself if Franco were to do something to Sam. "Where did that come from?" Jason asked, startled. Robin explained that her meds had stopped working, because Lisa had tampered with them, so Patrick would blame himself. Jason argued that Patrick would do that regardless, so it didn't matter. He insisted that Robin couldn't take Patrick's guilt away, but she could let Patrick help her.

Moments later, Jason's phone rang. He perked up when the caller revealed that they might have a lead on Franco. Jason instructed the person to call back when there was proof, and then abruptly ended the call. Robin had noticed Jason's burst of temper, so she warned him that he appeared to have a serious neurological problem. She feared that the attacks would continue to get worse, so she begged Jason to seek medical treatment.

Jason reminded her of his terms, but Robin pleaded with Jason not to throw his life with Sam away. Jason stood firm, and then explained that he needed to take care of something first anyway. Robin relented, but she warned Jason that he only had until the end of the night to hold up his end of the bargain. Michael knocked on the door. Robin offered Michael her condolences, and then left.

At the nurses' station, Patrick overheard Maggie yelling at a staff member on the phone. Epiphany walked up, so Maggie wondered if anyone in the hospital actually cared about the patients. Epiphany resented the remark, so she ranted at Maggie, and then stormed off. Patrick sarcastically remarked that Maggie seemed to have a way with people, so Maggie explained that she had been frustrated, because she had a seven-year-old lymphoma patient with no immune system, who needed to go into isolation.

Maggie had hoped to make things fun for her patient, so that the child wouldn't be further traumatized. Patrick admitted that he had once been like Maggie, but things had changed, because he had a lot to lose. Later, Maggie spotted Epiphany, so Maggie quickly apologized for her unprofessional behavior. Epiphany revealed that she had spoken to the pediatric nurses, and they had agreed to fix up the room for Maggie's isolation patient. Maggie was delighted, and thanked Epiphany.

After Epiphany walked away, Patrick confessed that Epiphany was a good person to have on one's side. Maggie was curious if Patrick had found out why Robin had been crying the other day. Patrick told her that Robin had been upset, because an HIV-positive patient had taken a turn for the worse. According to Patrick, not everyone was as fortunate as Robin, who remained in good health.

Later, Robin was relieved when she saw Jason arrive at the hospital. Jason admitted that he was ready for answers. Seconds later, Jason's phone rang. The caller informed Jason that they had proof of Franco's location, so Jason assured the caller that he would be right there. Robin tried to stop Jason from leaving the hospital, but he promised her that he would be back. He reminded Robin of their deal, and then disappeared into the elevator.

Robin spotted Patrick at the nurses' station. She tried to broach the topic of her health crisis, but Patrick thought that she had wanted to scold him about losing Emma's doll, so he assured her that Sam had found it, and that it had been returned safe and sound. Moments later, Robin was paged. She explained that it was about her HIV patient, and then walked away.

12/30 Patrick took Emma out for ice cream while Robin stayed at the house and made arrangements for a trip. Patrick and Emma returned. Patrick went to dress, while Robin and Emma had a chat. Robin articulated how much she loved her little angel and told her to be a good girl for Patrick, because he'd need his daughter's love. Patrick emerged, fully dressed for a night out, and they all took photos. Robin said, "I don't think I've ever been happier than I am right now," as she took Emma to bed. When Robin returned, Patrick was asleep on the couch. She snuggled up to him and wished him a happy new year.

1/3 Patrick approached Jason to ask some questions about the accident. Patrick decided to examine Jason for possible injuries, and to give him a post-op check-up. Patrick revealed that Robin had been concerned about Jason's recovery from the operation. "I'm worried about Robin too," Jason replied, but Patrick suspected that Jason's remark was a diversionary tactic. Sam entered the examination bay to hug her husband. Patrick insisted that they had to run some tests, so Jason reluctantly agreed to cooperate.

1/4 At the Drake residence, Robin was asleep on the sofa when the alarm clock went off. She slowly sat up to see Patrick standing in the living room, with his coat on. Robin explained that she had tried to wait up for him, but Patrick had more pressing concerns. He lifted Robin's suitcase, and then remarked that it appeared that he had arrived home in time.

Patrick wondered when Robin had planned to tell him that she was leaving. Robin quickly explained that there had been a last-minute opening at an AIDS conference in Africa, so she had decided to go, because she hoped that it might help her AIDS patient. Patrick praised Robin for giving so much of herself, so she tried to shift the focus onto him by asking why he had been called to the hospital.

Patrick told Robin about Jason's motorcycle accident, but quickly assured her that Jason and Michael hadn't been injured. He also revealed that he had run tests on Jason, to see if there had been any complications from the brain surgery. Robin was relieved, until Patrick mentioned that Jason had been concerned about her. Initially, Patrick suspected that it had been a diversionary tactic, but he confessed that he was also worried about Robin.

Patrick sensed that Robin had been holding onto something that should have gone away with Lisa's death. Robin conceded that there were things from that last fateful encounter with Lisa, which Robin hadn't been able to get out of her head. Patrick thought that it was time for things to get back to normal, because reality was waiting.

"Define normal," Robin challenged Patrick. Patrick wondered if she had considered returning as the hospital's chief of staff, but Robin insisted that she wasn't interested in working ninety hours a week.

Robin admitted that Lisa's craziness had made her realize that she should focus on the important things in life, like spending time with Patrick and Emma. Patrick suggested that Robin's suitcase told him otherwise. He sensed that Robin's trip was about more than her patient; Robin was worried about her own HIV status.

Patrick insisted that Robin was proof that the disease could be controlled, even though it had been a death sentence when she had been diagnosed. He knew that Robin felt obligated to help those less fortunate than her, but he insisted that she shouldn't feel guilty, because she was healthy. Robin explained that she wanted to explore all of the options, instead of dwelling on the negative. "Like Lisa," Patrick replied. Patrick reminded Robin that Lisa was gone, but Robin argued that it felt as if Lisa were still a part of them. Patrick vowed that he wouldn't let anyone or anything get between them, and then hugged his wife.

Robin's smile faded when Patrick revealed that he had to take a shower, and then return to work. He wondered what time Robin's flight was, but Robin insisted that it wasn't necessary for him to drive her to the airport. She admitted that she had intended to take a cab, so Patrick reluctantly agreed to respect her wishes. After Patrick left the living room, Robin called to confirm her appointment with Dr. Pierce in Seattle.

1/5 Patrick spotted Robin at the nurses' station, so he called out to her. Robin explained that she had been gathering some files on her patient, in preparation for the AIDS conference. Robin thanked Patrick for understanding why she had to go to Africa; she assured him that she wouldn't leave if it weren't important. Patrick suggested that she could make it up to him. "Name it," Robin replied. "Be honest with me," Patrick asked.

Patrick and Robin went to the conference room to talk privately. Robin confessed that she was hopeful that the trip to Africa would help her get past what Lisa had done. She was stunned when Patrick admitted that he knew that Robin had killed Lisa. According to Patrick, he had found Robin on the deck of the boat, unconscious, with the murder weapon in her hand.

Patrick revealed that he had picked the wrench up, and then he had tossed it into the water. Robin assured him that she hadn't killed Lisa, and then confided that she had thought Patrick had done the deed, because she had seen him throw the wrench overboard. Patrick explained that he hadn't seen Lisa after Lisa had left the stateroom. "This is why married people are supposed to communicate," Patrick said when Robin realized that they were both innocent of wrongdoing.

Robin admitted that she was curious about what had happened on deck. Patrick had no idea, but he reminded her that there had been a boatload of people who had hated Lisa. Robin agreed, but she hoped that neither Maxie nor Matt had been responsible for Lisa's death. Patrick wondered what exactly had transpired between Robin and Lisa on the deck. Robin explained that there had been a struggle, and that Robin had tumbled down a flight of stairs, and hit her head.

Patrick confessed that it didn't make sense, because Robin had been ten feet away from the staircase when he had found her. Robin suspected that the killer had moved her, but Patrick had no idea why the killer would do that. Robin suggested that perhaps Lisa had tried to drag Robin to the railing, to toss Robin overboard. Robin theorized that the killer might have intervened, before Lisa could carry out her deadly plan.

Patrick admitted that he had tried to protect Robin by throwing the wrench into the water, and then confessed that he had also found a black napkin near Robin, which he had shoved into his pocket. According to Patrick, he had forgotten about the napkin until Mac had requested their clothing from that fateful night. Robin was curious what had happened to the napkin, so Patrick confided that he had burned it. "So, you didn't give them all of the evidence," Robin realized.

Patrick conceded that it might not have been the smartest thing to do, but he had been concerned about Robin. Robin assured him that she loved him for trying to protect her. Patrick relaxed, and then expressed his hope that they could finally move forward, because neither of them had killed Lisa. Robin smiled, and then assured Patrick that she would focus on their future when she returned from Africa.

1/6 At the nurses' station, Monica worried to Robin about the possibility that Elizabeth would suck Jason in, since Lucky had left town. Robin suggested that it had to have been painful to learn that Jake was Monica's grandson after the boy had died, but pointed out that it had been Jason's decision to keep the truth from everyone, not Elizabeth's.

Patrick ran into Robin at Kelly's and asked why she'd been reading her will. She played it off as her just being her normal, organized self. Later, Robin made an admission to Elizabeth: Robin's viral load was out of control. Liz pleaded with Robin to tell Patrick the truth, but Robin wouldn't reconsider and, instead, asked Elizabeth to care of Patrick and Emma.

Later, Jason went to see Patrick at the hospital and asked about Robin, before he passed out.

1/9 At General Hospital, Robin spoke with Elizabeth while Patrick examined Jason and Monica comforted Sam. Elizabeth was momentarily speechless when Robin said that her HIV protocol had failed and she wanted Elizabeth to comfort Patrick and Emma if Robin lost her battle with AIDS. Elizabeth encouraged Robin to tell Patrick about her condition, but Robin was adamant that she did not want Patrick to endure what Robin had endured with Stone.

Elizabeth tried to look at the bright side, but Robin said that she had to plan for the worst-case scenario, and it would ease her mind if Elizabeth would promise to look after Patrick and Emma. Elizabeth agreed to do what Robin asked, if Robin agreed to tell Patrick everything before she left.

Jason passed out briefly, but recovered before Patrick got him on a gurney. Jason wanted to leave without tests, but Patrick insisted. In the exam room, Jason said he was experiencing numbness in his hand when Patrick asked about other symptoms. Patrick said he would run more tests to determine whether or not the numbness was due to Jason's latest brain surgery or to a previous shoulder injury.

Jason was surprised to hear that Robin was looking for him. Patrick wanted to know what Jason knew about Robin that Patrick did not. Jason said that he had known Robin at a different time in her life and perhaps she felt comfortable talking to Jason about those times. Jason said that he knew Robin loved Patrick and encouraged Patrick to talk to Robin. Patrick told Jason that by the same token, he should talk to Sam.

Patrick approached Sam and updated her on Jason's condition and the tests that he had ordered for Jason. He asked if Jason had experienced headaches or other symptoms, including mood swings. Sam told Patrick about Jason's angry outbursts without mentioning Franco. Patrick said that the best thing Sam could do for Jason was try to help keep his stress level down.

At the nurses' station, Elizabeth again told Robin to talk to Patrick. Robin said it was not a good time because Patrick was focused on Jason, but Elizabeth insisted. Patrick found Robin in the locker room. She said that she wanted to say goodbye before she left for the AIDS conference. Robin asked about Jason's condition. Patrick said he was doing tests. Patrick also said that Jason had arrived at the hospital, looking for Robin. Patrick said that Jason, the least emotional person he knew, had insisted that Patrick talk to Robin. Patrick wanted to know why Jason had said that to him.

1/10 At the hospital, Patrick and Robin discussed Jason's case. Robin was frustrated, because Jason was not a cooperative patient. Patrick confessed that he was concerned about the remarks that Jason had made about Robin. Robin managed to assuage Patrick's uneasiness by suggesting that Jason had been worried about Robin's determination to help her AIDS patient. Patrick revealed that he knew that Jason had paid to have Robin and Stone's bridge rebuilt. Robin was shocked at the idea that Patrick might be jealous, but Patrick assured her that he wasn't, because if it hadn't been for Jason then Patrick would never have met Robin.

Patrick and Robin joined Sam and Jason. Robin was curious if it had been the first time that Jason had passed out. Jason assured Robin that it had been, but Robin wondered if perhaps Jason had passed out just before the accident on New Year's Eve. "No way," Jason insisted. Sam told the doctors that Jason had been sleeping less than normal, and that she had found Jason staring out the window, as if he were unaware of his surroundings.

Patrick wondered if Jason had experienced any headaches. Jason assured them that he hadn't, but Robin quickly clarified that they were curious about even mild headaches. Jason reluctantly admitted that he'd had a few. Sam decided to tell the doctors about Jason going still, when it seemed that he didn't hear anyone, on several occasions. Robin recalled that Jason had had an episode like that in jail, during one of her visits.

Jason assured Robin that he'd heard Robin, but he had been thinking about something that he hadn't wanted to discuss with her. Sam realized that Jason had been referring to Franco. After Patrick stepped away, Robin instructed Jason and Sam to keep a detailed list of Jason's symptoms, and to continue to monitor Jason.

Jason balked at being watched, but Robin argued that it was necessary, so that they could properly diagnose Jason. Sam's cell phone rang, so she excused herself to take the call. Robin hoped that Jason wasn't mad at her for pushing him to have the tests. "You mad at me?" Jason wondered.

Robin confessed that she had been impressed with is ability to finesse the truth. Jason assured her that he hadn't told Patrick exactly what was going on with her. Robin appreciated that Jason had kept her secret. She then changed the subject by urging Jason to reassure Sam, and not to take any risks, because it was clear that Sam was terrified. Moments later, Patrick returned with the results of the latest round of tests.

Robin was disappointed that nothing was conclusive, so they would need to run some more tests on Jason. Jason insisted that he knew what was wrong with him, and it wasn't medical. Sam knew that Jason was once again referring to Franco, but she kept silent.

Moments later, a nurse informed Robin that the car service had arrived to take Robin to the airport. Patrick decided to walk his wife to the car, so Robin urged Jason to let Patrick run whatever tests were needed. Jason reluctantly agreed.

At the elevator, Robin looked at her ticket to Seattle, and then quickly tucked it away when Patrick joined her. Patrick wanted to whisk Robin to the supply closet for some time alone, but Robin argued that she didn't have time. However, she promised to make it up to him when she returned home.

Patrick hated that Robin was leaving, but Robin appreciated that he understood the importance of her trip. She told him that she had talked to Elizabeth, and that Elizabeth had agreed to help Patrick with Emma. Patrick insisted that he and Emma would be fine, and then kissed his wife goodbye. Patrick approached Sam to explain that it was important to keep Jason calm until they could figure out what was going on with Jason. Sam promised to do what she could.

1/13 Epiphany nagged Patrick in retaliation for him nagging her. Patrick explained to Elizabeth that he was cross because he was concerned that Robin hadn't called to let him know she'd arrived in Africa, safe and sound. Elizabeth felt guilty for keeping Robin's secret.

The phone rang, and Epiphany answered. It was Robin, who apologized for the delay. She continued to lie to Patrick about why she was in Africa. After the call, Patrick shared with Elizabeth that he had the sense that there was something Robin was keeping from him. Liz broke down and admitted she knew Robin was sick.

1/16 Elizabeth told Patrick about Robin's condition, that her HIV loads are unstable. Incredulous at first, Patrick did not believe her. Elizabeth said that Robin was trying to spare Patrick the pain that Robin had experienced when Stone had passed away.

Elizabeth said that Robin had found out that her drug protocol was not working the day after the ill-fated boat cruise with Lisa Niles. Patrick asked if Lisa had tampered with Robin's medication. Elizabeth said that there was no way to know for sure. Patrick said that Robin should have told him.

Elizabeth agreed, but said Robin was trying to spare Patrick the pain. Patrick wanted to know why Elizabeth had not told him the information earlier. Elizabeth said that she had known nothing until the day of Robin's departure. Elizabeth said that Robin had sought her out and asked that Elizabeth be there for Patrick and Emma.

Elizabeth said that Robin had promised to tell Patrick everything before she left. Patrick was almost in tears when he mused that his wife had been sick for weeks but had not felt she could talk to him. Elizabeth said that Robin was trying to spare Patrick. Patrick asked if Elizabeth condoned Robin's action. Elizabeth said that she did not and that was why she was telling Patrick everything.

Patrick recalled a prior conversation with Robin and realized that she had been pointing him in Elizabeth's direction. Elizabeth said that Robin wanted Patrick to have someone in his corner who understood the challenges of being a single parent. Patrick wanted to call Robin and tell her to hurry home, but Elizabeth stopped him and said that Robin was not giving up, that she had chosen to spare Patrick and Emma. Elizabeth said that they had to pray that when Robin arrived home, it would be with the answer. Patrick did call Robin, but did not let on that he knew about her changed HIV status. He told her that he missed her and just wanted to hear her voice.

1/20 Elizabeth found a distraught Patrick in one of the exam rooms. She braced herself as she asked if he was upset about Robin, but he replied that he'd had a tough consult with a woman battling a degenerative neurological disorder. The woman had a husband and a little girl, and the outcome likely would not be a good one.

Elizabeth comforted Patrick, who expressed the range of emotions he was feeling. Elizabeth tried to explain that Robin was simply trying to spare him the worry, hoping for good news. "She's not being very optimistic if she's asking you to take her place, is she?" he exclaimed. The phone rang, it was Robin.

Robin explained that her flight had been delayed. She asked him to meet her at home, because she had something important to tell him. Later, Elizabeth pitched in at Patrick and Robin's house. Patrick worried that he wouldn't be able to handle any bad news. Elizabeth left. A while later, Robin arrived home.

1/23 Robin and Patrick were glad to see each other when she arrived home from her flight. Before Robin could go to kiss Emma goodnight, Patrick blurted out that he knew that she had not been at a conference, and he knew that she was sick. When Robin asked if Elizabeth had told him, Patrick said yes and begged Robin to tell him what was happening with her.

Robin said that she had learned that her HIV medications were not working the day after Lisa had died. Patrick wanted to know why Robin had not told him. Robin said that she was scared of losing what they had together, what they had worked so hard for. She said that she had wanted Christmas to be perfect for him and for Emma. Patrick said that he was Robin's husband, and she had to tell him.

Robin replied that if she had told Patrick, everything would have been different, and she had not wanted to see him sad. Robin said that she had not wanted to ruin Christmas for her daughter. Patrick responded that it was their life and Robin had no right to shut him out. Patrick asked if Robin trusted him. Robin reluctantly said that she did trust Patrick. She admitted that she had been in Seattle not Africa.

She said that she had lied because she had not wanted Patrick to worry for no reason. She said that she was on her third HIV protocol and that the doctor that she had seen in Seattle was having amazing results. Robin said that she believed that she would be okay and that they had good reason to hope. Robin told Patrick that she had kept the truth from him so that he would not try to fix something that could not be fixed.

Robin added that she did not want Patrick to watch her die as she had watched Stone. She also said that she wanted Emma to remember her as a strong person, not a shadow of what she had been. Patrick said he did not care what Robin looked like or if she was strong; he just wanted to be there for her. Robin said that she was scared. Patrick asked if Lisa had tampered with Robin's medications.

Robin said there was no way to be sure. Patrick blamed himself, but Robin did not want him to feel guilty. Patrick asked what it said about their marriage if Robin could tell Jason, but not tell him. Robin answered that she had only told Jason because she wanted to disappear, but Jason had refused to help her and had insisted that she tell Patrick what was going on with her.

Robin said that she had also asked Elizabeth to help out, but Elizabeth had also insisted that Robin tell Patrick the truth. Patrick said that throwing Elizabeth at him was not the solution. Patrick said that Robin could best honor Stone by living the life that she had. Patrick told Robin that she would beat HIV, and he would be with her every step of the way. Patrick said that Robin had to know that taking off was crazy.

Robin agreed and said that she had finally realized that she needed Patrick and Emma too much to leave them. Patrick assured Robin that everything would work out. He said that they would go through the procedure together. Patrick told her no more taking off or crying in the conference room. Robin agreed. Both were teary-eyed as Robin sat in Patrick's lap, and they reaffirmed their love for each other.

1/24 At the Drake residence, Jason wondered how Robin was doing. Robin admitted that she was jetlagged, but Jason clarified that he wanted to know about her health. Robin explained that she had gone to Seattle to see a doctor, who had started her on a third drug protocol, but they wouldn't know the results for a few more weeks.

Robin then revealed that Elizabeth had told Patrick that Robin's viral loads were unstable, so Patrick had confronted Robin about it when Robin had arrived home. Robin confessed that Patrick had been wonderful and supportive after she had explained that she had been hesitant to tell Patrick about her health crisis, because of what had happened to Stone.

Robin then switched gears to ask about Jason's ongoing health problems. She wondered if he were still having episodes of rage. Jason assured her that he was fine, so Robin admitted that she had read about the fire at Franco's art gallery, and the artist's death.

She remained concerned about Jason, because she noticed that his fist was clenched, so she was certain that Jason's anger remained a problem. Jason admitted that he still had bouts of anger, but they were less frequent. Robin suspected that Jason's episodes of rage were physiological, so she urged him to follow up on the tests.

1/27 Patrick tried his best not to hover over Robin. She appreciated his concern but didn't want him to worry. Matt and Elizabeth welcomed Robin back to work. Robin admitted to Matt that she hadn't actually traveled to Africa and that her viral load was out of control. She eased Matt's apprehension by letting him know she was on a new drug protocol.

Patrick and Matt left, leaving Robin to apologize to Elizabeth for having put her in a very awkward situation. She thanked Liz for the support. Across the hall, Patrick told Matt that Robin had asked Elizabeth to take her place after she died.

Later, Jason arrived because Robin had texted him. Patrick asked him why he'd kept Robin's secret. Jason replied that Robin had needed to tell Patrick about her medical condition in her own way. "Actually, Robin didn't tell me. Elizabeth did," Patrick clarified.

Robin arrived, and Patrick left to see a patient. Robin delivered Jason's test results, which showed that his condition was worsening. Jason received a call and told Robin he had to leave. "If you leave right now," she cautioned, "you might be risking your life."

1/30 Jason went to GH to see Robin. She told him that his test results indicated that he had a swelling in the brain. She said that Jason's brain was pressing against his skull and might be depriving his brain of oxygen. Jason wanted to shrug it off, but Robin said that Jason had to think of more than himself. She said he had to think of how Sam would be affected.

Robin said that she would run more tests, and they would try to reduce the swelling with drugs. Robin said that Jason might have to have more surgery. Jason said that he would not submit to more surgery. Robin said that she would look at the blood work again.

2/2 At the hospital, Patrick was eager to talk with Robin about their new dream house, but Robin wanted to put the plans on hold until they knew if the new drug protocol would work. Patrick insisted that they should have faith, and plan for their future. Robin agreed to try, but Patrick wasn't satisfied. "Try harder," he told her. Robin appreciated his positive outlook, but she was reluctant to make a big financial investment until they were certain that her viral loads stabilized.

A furious Mac approached the nurses' station. Mac was furious that Robin had kept him in the dark about her situation. Robin tried to downplay her health crisis when she assured Mac that it had just been a "scare." Mac demanded to know what had happened, so Robin explained that she had been put on a new drug cocktail, so they had every reason to expect things to improve.

Mac realized that Robin had known about her viral loads when he had found her on the bridge, on the anniversary of Stone's death. Mac was hurt that she hadn't confided to her uncle, so Robin apologized. Mac insisted that he would have, and should have, been there for her, so Robin hugged Mac to let him know how sorry she was.

Later, Robin suggested that the kitchen of their dream home should face east, so that the sun could stream through the windows when they had breakfast. Patrick smiled, and then leaned down to kiss his wife.

2/7 At the hospital, Patrick watched the elevator until Robin appeared. He quickly approached his wife to find out what the results of her recent round of blood work. Robin smiled as she revealed that the tests indicated that the new drug protocol was working. Patrick was relieved, so he hugged his wife, and then insisted that they celebrate the good news.

Robin confessed that she felt as if she had been given a second chance, so she wanted to live her life to the fullest, which meant that she didn't want to waste time working all of the time. Patrick reminded Robin that she loved being a doctor, but Robin argued that Patrick and Emma were her priority, not her job. Patrick appreciated Robin's commitment to their family, but he didn't want her to give up her dreams.

Robin explained that she had new dreams, which included being there for Emma, and focusing on what was best for their family. Later, Robin signed out for the day, and then announced to Epiphany that she had plans with Patrick. Epiphany noticed that Robin was in high spirits, so she jokingly wondered if Robin had won the lottery. "Something like that," Robin admitted, and then greeted Patrick as he approached the nurses' station. Patrick revealed that he had hired a babysitter to watch Emma.

Epiphany called out to Patrick that he was needed in the emergency room, because a patient with severe head trauma had been admitted. Robin insisted that Patrick attend to the patient, because they had the rest of their lives to celebrate.

2/8 At the hospital, Robin selected something from the vending machine, so Maggie warned Robin that the junk food could kill Robin. Robin smiled as she confessed that she was willing to take her chances, and then offered Maggie a piece of a candy bar. Maggie readily accepted the treat, and then asked Robin about the AIDS conference in Africa, and the patient that Robin had been concerned about.

Robin revealed that her "patient" had stabilized, and then changed the subject by wondering if Maggie had settled into the hospital's routine. Maggie admitted that she enjoyed working at the hospital, so Robin was curious what it felt like to work with Steve. Maggie seemed surprised by the question, prompting Robin to admit that it was clear that Maggie and Steve shared some history.

Robin spotted Mac and asked if he had received her message? Mac asked if Robin had the results of her blood tests. Mac was relieved when Robin assured him that her viral loads were good, and that the drug protocol was working. Mac confessed that he had been concerned that Robin had given up. Robin admitted that she had been worried that dying had been fate's way of evening the score, because she had everything that she had wanted. Robin and Mac then began to talk about hope.

Robin believed that people opened themselves up to trying new things when they have lost hope. Mac agreed. Robin sensed that her uncle was talking about something else, so Mac confessed that he'd been desperate to find a way to escape, because he had been so worried about Robin's situation. Robin wondered what Mac had done, but Mac refused to elaborate. According to Mac, the important thing was that she was better. When Robin persisted, Mac smiled and then revealed that he had played a little pool.

2/9 Patrick drove Robin and Emma to the site of their future dream home. Emma was asleep in the backseat, so Robin and Patrick got out of the car to look around. Robin admitted that she felt blessed, so Patrick confessed that he was thrilled that her medications were working, and that her HIV was stable. "This is our life now, this is our home," Patrick said as he leaned down to kiss his wife. Patrick then showed Robin where the various rooms in their new home would be. Robin chuckled, because she didn't know the difference between a great room, and a living room.

Patrick explained that the great room was essentially a game room, and then told her that he wanted to install arched windows in the living room, so that they could look out at the stream. Robin was surprised that the property had a stream, so Patrick revealed that it was hard to see, because it had been frozen over.

Robin loved all of Patrick's ideas, and then apologized for being self-involved in recent weeks. She regretted that she hadn't been around, because she had been traveling around looking for new treatments. Patrick assured her that he understood, but he was eager to move forward with their building plans.

Robin warned him that he might have to occasionally share her with a patient. Patrick realized that Robin was referring to Jason. Robin was concerned, because the swelling on Jason's brain wasn't normal. Patrick promised to review the scans the following day, but he wanted them to focus on themselves for the rest of the evening.

Patrick kissed Robin again, and then began to talk about their new bedroom. Moments later, Emma honked the car's horn. Patrick and Robin chuckled as they returned to the car, and then chased their daughter back into her booster seat. Afterwards, they headed home.

2/13 At General Hospital, Patrick asked Mac to help him with a Valentine surprise for Robin. Mac was grouchy and thought that Patrick wanted him as a babysitter for Emma, but Patrick said that Emma was in on the surprise, and he wanted Mac to attend a family dinner and make sure that Maxie was there, as well, along with Matt.

Mac said that he did not think that Matt appreciated Maxie, and Mac had warned Maxie, just as he had warned Robin that Patrick did not appreciate her. Patrick said that the dinner and surprise were an attempt to show just how much Robin's family cared for her. Mac softened and said he would attend and make sure that Maxie was there also.

When Patrick entered the treatment bay where Jason and Sam waited, Sam told Patrick that she had found Jason collapsed on the floor. Patrick said that there was no obvious sign of head trauma. Patrick asked if there was anything Jason was not telling. Jason said he was fine. Patrick said Jason was not fine because Jason had experienced two blackouts in a short period of time. Sam wanted to know if Jason was getting worse. Patrick wanted to admit Jason to the hospital. He left to look at Jason's test results.
